Join us for lunch and dinner in the heart of downtown, on the second floor at 1 York Street. Accessible through the PATH.
The restaurant has no atmosphere - very similar to an office building cafeteria without the service line. At dinner time there were no people dining. We decided to go elsewhere.
This was a lovely and surprising "find" in my neighbourhood. It is difficult to find fully-operational restaurants during COVID times. I probably wouldn't have discovered Nonna's if it were "normal" times. The service was really, really excellent. The food was extremely fresh and beautifully prepared. This place will definitely become a regular eating spot for me.
Horrible experience. I went for Valentine s day and they had a fixed price menu for the day with only a few choices (5 different main dishes only), however it was very difficult to learn this from the waiter who we had and there was lots of confusion on what was included, what we could chose and what were the prices. Parking was $35 even though the parking sign on entering said $15 and even tho the restaurant validated the parking ticket and we only stayed for 1.5 hrs total. I called the store but there was not assistance concerning the $35 dollar parking. The dinner basically cost a total of $200 total for a 6 oysters, 1 piece of halibut, 1 pasta and 1 piece of cheesecake.
Tasty; but extremely small portions.
This is a gem of a restaurant hidden in the One York Sunlife tower. Great pizza, pasta, al fresh and tasty. Nice wines too.
Glad you have improved the Lighting much better. Sean is great.
The service was terrible. After being seated, we had to ask for the menus. It took a very long time for a server to come by to take our order and it took 50 minutes before the food came to the table. Aside from the salad, the food Was lukewarm. The whole entire place were seated with patrons but there were only 2 servers. At one point, a server came by to take a extra chair away for another table but the manner he did that was very rude. Given the Christmas season and lunch celebrations at this time of the year, the restaurant should have been better prepared. Our lunch was a birthday celebration for our friend and unfortunately, it didn’t leave us with a positive experience.
Good food. Good value. Superb service by Nalini. One thing, we're disappointed, the menu says spaghetti bolognese, but it came as fettuccini with chunks of ground beef. Wish they informed us a head of time.
It was incredible food! It was quite busy when we arrived, but was still nice and quiet. This is a hidden gem!!
Horrible service where they forgot to serve my main meal which they charge on my bill without serving. I had to bring my meal home in a doggy bag. Horrible service. They need to pick up on the service fast. And they didn’t offer any rebates for such a poor service in forgetting the main meal of a client. Food is good if you’re a foody
Business meal was noted in the reservation. It took >20mins to take our order... and then almost an hour to deliver. $24 for two thin, lukewarm slivers of veal with a couple capers. That’s it. No side. No salad. No... just, no.
The food was excellent and plentiful. The Eggplant Parmesan is so good!
Love the restaurant.
Overall great
Restaurant is located on second floor
0 atmosphere
Only one person working soooo service WAS NOT GOOD. One person to seat people, take orders, serve food, bus tables, take payment ... food was decent but more than cancelled out by the lack of service and lack of atmosphere ... how about a little background music, seems pretty simple.
The server working was great however there were only two and this made it difficult/impossible to get a second drink or ask for something. The orders were exactly as we requested and the food was quite good. I would definitely go back or recommend it to a friend. Staff were super friendly and as helpful as they could be as I felt they were understaffed. Overall a good dining experience.
Sean is excellent . location is very good for us . Lacks ambience , no windows and lighting in too harsh. Food was great and service outstanding.
birthday we got gelato which was nice of the server.
I expect to pay these prices bases on the real estate, but the I wonder about the price point on your glasses of wine.
I would come her a lot more if these were more competitive.
There was a fly buzzing around in the dining room.
But probably give this a second try.
I booked this reservation to celebrate my friend’s birthday (just the 2 of us so not a big party). Unfortunately for us the waiter we got said it was just his second day and the bad experience spoke to that fact.
I booked a 12:15pm reservation and we ended up only ordering $35-40 mins later....not because we weren’t ready but because he never came by. I finally had to get up and go find him near the kitchen and ask if he was going to come take our order. He seemed to be very overwhelmed and our experience suffered because of it.
After waiting another 20 mins...my food came without the toppings on the burger that were on the menu which then meant I had to wait for another 5-10 mins for the toppings to be made. My friend’s pasta was incredibly bland.
Food quality was poor.
Service was even worse.
To note, another table beside ours said they would never come back.
Disappointed in this establishment.
Food was great and service was awesome. We enjoyed our business lunch. Location is super convenient for us.
This is a beautiful, clean little restaurant that serves delicious, authentic Italian dishes. The service was attentive and informative. It was so yummy that we went back the next night!
Enjoyed the food (was with a friend and we split the kale salad and the spaghetti with eggplant meatballs -- this was just enough for me to fell satiated but not stuffed). The service was helpful but not cloying. I would certainly go back.
Good food, nice environment, a little loud, and hard to find, but worth the effort. Nice, romantic atmosphere.
Overall experience was good until the manager started hitting on these two girls, told them they didn’t have to pay, kept giving them free drinks & then took them to a private area. Really weird vibe. Made my colleague and I uncomfortable.
Fantastic food. Impeccable service. We would definitely go there again.
Food was good and tasty. Service was patchy, even although it was quiet. Prices were higher end than expected, but ok.
The food was excellent. Fresh and very well prepared. the problem is the noise level and the ambiance. Those are both somewhat problematic. But in their defence, I can say that they haven't been open for long. So maybe they will work on the decor .....
The staff were great and really helpful. The food was delicious!
Great location and good service however they have NO signage on the location. Located on the second floor of an office building No signage on STREET where all business are located. No signage in directory of building.
Very good quality of food and service. Our waitress was amazing! I really enjoyed the food, my only thing is that I expected to have a better Starter - my Burrata was good, but I have had better. Being that this restaurant is located within an Italian grocery, I would have expected a fresh, very milky burrata. It was clearly kept in refrigeration too long and therefore, the taste was not as good. I was very happy with the available gluten free option and that the quality of that pasta was excellent. Great place for a nice meal where you can have a conversation and enjoy good food. Thank you!
