Nona's Italian Grill
1 Samuel 18:14
Nona's is one of the best Italian restaurants in The Woodlands area. The food is outstanding and the prices are reasonable. The owner, Juan, and his son Fernando are very friendly and pay special attention to their guests. Give Nona's a try - you'll be glad you did!
All menu items well prepared. Osso Bucco was really good with a creamy savory mushroom sauce. Will be back.
Very good. Will go back again.
Excellent dining experience at Nona’s as we have come to expect from Chef Juan.
Good food & service. Nice bar. Good neighborhood restaurant.
Always a good meal at Nona’s. Next time I have to save room for the Bananas Foster!
It was really wonderful. The workers was really nice and came to check to see if everything was ok. It didn't take long for the food to come out. Love the piano man. Eating and lovely music playing at the same time with a candle light dinner, it was more than amazing. We will be going back. Our waiter John, he was more than perfect, he was always coming by every so often to make sure we was ok. Now that's perfect
I love locally owned restaurants, and I especially love Nona's. Everything from the ambiance to the food is top drawer, and the piano player is an added bonus.
We were there to celebrate a birthday and our guest of honor found a wire in her salad. Luckily she saw the wire before ingesting or it could have turned into a real tradegy.
I also had to ask the waiter for ice tea a second time before getting it.
I prefer to not go back to this restaurant!
Four of us ate Dinner last weekend. The service was very prompt and available for requested items and drinks. My chicken with the crab sauce topping was very tasty, The chicken could have been more tender though. My wifes seafood linguine was very good. Our friends said their salmon was very good. The calamari appetizer was not very tender so it was in the mediocre range. The spinich/seafood dip was excellent. The reviews seem to be getting better and I am sure as they work out a few, in my amatuer opinion, minor food quality issues that they can be one of our favorite Conroe/The woodlands area restaurants.
We tried Nona's for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. Perfect for a date night, but also comfortable for families or friends night out. Nice ambience, great food and great service. The only thing we didn't really like was their cheesecake. We will definitely be back.
Good food at a reasonable cost. Ambiance is good even though restaurant is in a strip center.
Great veal dishes. Flavorful sauce. Will be back.
Service and food is very good. Restaurant could use a little bit of a makeover. Sully, Fernando are great waiters. The owner, Juan is very welcoming. Please give them a try!
Loved the food, and the prices were great! Staff were attentive to keeping glasses topped off and bringing more bread and olive oil, but our waiter was not particularly friendly, and took a long time to take orders and to bring the check. There was a pianist, which was very enjoyable, but the sound level made it challenging to have conversation. Overall great dinner!
Very nice ambience. Excellent, attentive service. Food was very good, especially the veal. Will be returning!
Everything was great
Maybe we will give it a shot and it was an unlucky night for Nona's BUT the service was slow and, in my opinion, rude. Half of the food was delicious the other half was season like nobody's business.
The ambiance, although it's trying to be dark and romantic turns out to be no so flattering and EXTREMELY loud. For anyone looking for the perfect place every time this does not appear to be it... but like I said I may give it another chance.
We had a group of 8 people looking for a good option for supper. With different ages and preferences, Nona's stood out as a well liked, flexible option. We were all pleased with the food, the service...the whole experience.
Fernando (our waiter) is talented; the right level of input and attention, without ever hovering. Our glasses were never empty...just right.
I ordered a customized Pesce de Mare and it was perfect - exactly as I requested, every component added to the complexity of the dish and it was delicious...proof that great Italian food doesn't actually require pasta.
Food was mediocre, run of the mill. Too much sauces covering true flavor
Every part of Italy has its cuisine and every family their style and favorite dishes. This is the quest and dilemma for Italian restaurants. The atmosphere is lovely, inviting, and when we arrived very quiet. The pianist played soft music. Our waiter was engaging, helpful and generous. This is Italian food with owner Garcia’s flair. The fettuccine Alfredo was light and creamy — served in a separate dish — the fresh pasta elevated the dish to be the best we had. Nona’s Favorite chicken cutlets with artichokes is a classic Italian dish but tasted a bit briney and the cutlet could have been more tender. The penne was good, lots of peppers and onions, solid food in generous proportions. The cannoli were fantastic! We enjoyed our time here.
Order anything with red sauce.
Food was delicious and service was great!
Love the piano music still able to carry on conversations. Great ambiance. Food is always tasty and served hot not lukewarm. Great waiters and fast service.
Excellent ambiance with limited seating, great food and reasonable prices. Fairly quiet atmosphere without being "stuffy" and nice live piano in the background. Table spacing was perfect allowing privacy and avoiding the feeling of being "elbow to elbow". I did not feel like I was being rushed out the door in an effort to "turn" the tables quickly. Very relaxed atmosphere. Good food, good service, reasonable pricing plus they accept reservations! Check it out!
Lovely family-owned restaurant. Very nice decor. We had a big group for Mother’s Day. The pasta dishes were made fresh and delicious. The sauces for the chicken dishes were made fresh and delicious. Unfortunately the chicken was tough. I’ve become so spoiled with the Sous Vide method of cooking chicken (tender, moist and always cooked to perfection) that chicken cooked in a skillet just doesn’t cut it anymore. Overall our experience was good and we will be back for the pasta dishes.
This was our 4th time to visit Nona's Italian Grill. The food is absolutely wonderful, the staff extremely accommodating and attentive. We have never been disappointed. No need to travel to Houston for an incredible Italian meal when Nona's is so close and so very good.
Very pleased with this evening’s choice for dinner. Good food, great service, loved the piano music and all at great value. Forget the strip center exterior. The inside is fine.
I had the veal parmigiana. I would highly recommend using higher quality veal and sliced much thinner. Veal was a bit tough. Would prefer to see higher quality veal and raise the price if necessary. The other two meals were wonderful according to the other 2 diners
Great atmosphere and variety of choices. For the price I paid for a meal, the food was meh and servings were small.
My daughter had spaghetty with meat balls and didn’t eat the meatball as she said they didn’t have any taste.
Great experience. I read good reviews and made a reservation for five at 6:00 PM. My wife, son, mother-in-law and her boyfriend. We were seated at a round table which was great for conversation. We all ordered different items on the menu and were very happy with the food and service. There was a live piano player who was good. The overall noise level was a little high. It was a Friday night and good crowd but not completely full. The food came out very quickly. We go to The Woodlands all the time and never knew about Nona's and will return.
Don't be put off by the plain strip-mall front. This is a classy, cozy place. Everybody liked their food, they had a wine list with lots of quality and variety at reasonable prices, and they had a gentleman playing soft piano in the background all night. Great ambiance. Good service. Our waiter brought us free dessert since we ordered some nice wine. I would definitely go back.
Celerino was excellent.
Went here on a date. It was perfect! I’m pretty sure our waiter was actually Italian:) amazing food!
Charming Italian restaurant. Family owned with homemade pasta. Food was delicious and the service was great! We love supporting family owned places and hope more people go to Nona's!! You will not regret it!
A great new addition to The Woodlands area. The subtle piano player was a nice touch
This was our second visit to Nona's. The food and the atmosphere are so pleasant. We love the food and definitely recommend it!
The food was ok - not great. Still looking for a really good authentic Italian restaurant in this area
