Run don't walk to NoMi! Incredible service and food! Best dining experience I have had in 10 years traveling to Chicago! Had the deviled eggs, the artichoke soup, the fluke and the tiramisu- all was incredible. The view from their 7th floor perch is stunning. Will return in June when I'm back in town!

Everything was fine. The only thing that annoyed me is that the bussboy did not clean the table after the main course before desert. The tables do not have placemats so the crumbs are notoceable

From the street when one looks up NoMI looks like a pretty cool place and been wanting to go for awhile so decided to give it a chance. For the restaurant itself I felt uncomfortable. You go to the restaurant on an elevator and then enter a very open room where you find the hostess. When she was ready and took us to our table (by the window, which I requested) you wind your way through a tight lounge and then a sushi area and then to our table overlooking Michigan Ave. Can't argue with the view, but can find fault with the number of people coming by to stare out and hover over our table. Service was very good and find no fault with that. Biggest complaint was some of the items we had. The weakest were the Caesar salad, which I found a bit lackluster and the artichoke soup; which could have benefited from some bacon or pancetta to provide a bit of smokiness. We also had the pork cheeks, which was pretty good but was drowning in a sauce of spinach. I also had the Rissole, which was like an empanadas which was filled with lamb. This had some good flavor but the one criticism was there was some liquid at the bottom of the bowl and as the item sat a bit they got soggy. My wife had the Fluke which was very light and mild, but after some of the stronger dishes we had may have seemed milder than normal. For dessert we had the Creamsicle Opera Cake which was very good. I think the reason for only giving 3 stars is that I both expected more (given the price point) and the restaurant itself seemed a jumble of different ideas all mushed together. Better options out there so not rushing back at this time.

This restaurant’s interior design is stunningly beautiful. It is situated above the historical Water Tower Plaza and from huge windows one can enjoy the great view and the vibrant city bustling below.
The food was artfully crafted, fresh, and overall excellent. We throughly enjoyed our meals from beginning to end and our server was attentive, friendly, and professional.

Such a lovely spot for lunch. Particularly nice to take an out-of-towner, since the treetop view overlooks the Water Tower Park, Michigan Avenue, and the surrounding buildings and activities. The luncheon was delicious and the service exceptional. Quiet ambiance perfect for conversation.

Everything was beautiful. A misstep: the salad with salmon was very salty which we returned. Then they brought back one whose salt was measured

Extremely disappointing - had not been to NoMi in several years and everything has gone downhill. The soup was watery with no flavor, decent salad, decent fish dish, chicken dish was dried out. Everything was over salted. Asked waiter for recommendation on wine and he was clueless - pointed to the one that was newer vintage and said that it "would have much more depth". These were wines in the $150 range and he had zero knowledge of any of the wines. Could easily have sent someone over to provide further information but did not do so.

Wonderful views. I fear this has turned into one of those great views, bad food, tourist traps.

I had called ahead to make sure there were several vegetarian options, but there really wasn't much to choose from. The one soup and one entree were average, but extremely overpriced. The service was pretty slow, though the waiter was nice. It was an okay experience, but considering the price and that we left still hungry, there are better options.

Great food, great atmosphere, million dollar views if you are lucky enough to get a window table facing east. Most staff was very attentive. This particular occasion however our server did not check back during the meal and struggled with the bill finally getting it right the third time.

I treat myself to NoMi when I want a really unique dining experience (special occasions, usually, because it's pricey). Nomi it all: view, outstanding food, outdoor dining location, location, location. On this visit, a Sunday after church, we arrived at 10:55 a.m. Breakfast ends at 11:00 am and brunch begins at 11:30 am. I'm not sure why there's a 30-minute hole in the schedule (a head-scratcher). Regardless, we had an 11:45 am reservation, so waited for 45 minutes in the bar lounge, where a waiter passed by many times without asking if we wanted something to drink. We flagged him down eventually. Other than this the food didn't disappoint: the arugula salad was piled high and lightly dressed, just perfect; eggs benedict with crab was perfectly yummy and the pancakes and bacon were light, fluffy, savory and sweet. Though the dining room wasn't busy, service was slow. Not sure why, but we were still charmed. The waitstaff and hostess were wonderfully friendly. Look forward to a next visit.

The new menu and new chef have unfortunately not yet attained the level of what Nomi was known for in terms of exceptional food.

There is promise but the finer points of the execution where not quite up to standard:

The sushi bar is still 12/10 exceptional.

The Park Board platter lacked inspiration with the meat and cheese barely memorable. The $51 lamb loin now gets three medallions of lamb on a bed of purée.

And the chicken dish has been reduced to a chicken breast, with some chopped inner meat; and an over salted spatzle of some mysterious nature.

Even the water service has changed from the in house filtered and ice free to what appeared to be Chicago’s finest wirh ice.

The servers in the restaurant remained attentive and very good. Will have to see how long that lasts.

The front of house lacked any warmth - the friendly part of the welcome team being out on maternity. Three parties checked in when we did and the front of house person barely cracked a look; definitely no smile. It would have been more friendly checked in on a computer system.

Disapponeted, but hopeful our favorite food destination can gets its lusre back.

This place has one of the best views in the city. Ask for a window table when you make your reservation and they will try their hardest to accommodate. The server was very rushed during this visit. He seemed to have every table in the restaurant. We never received our side of potatoes but ended up not needing them anyway. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Brunch is busy!

My family and I had breakfast at NoMI kitchen as we were staying at the Park Hyatt. It was a Sunday and crowded. At first, they asked us to wait as we did not have a reservation so we made a reservation on Opentable while we waited. They seated us promptly thereafter.

Our orders were taken promptly (we had the Park breakfast, waffles, loaded potato skillet and crab and egg white frittata) but the food took about a half hour to arrive. The food quality, taste and presentation was impeccable though. Portion sizes were reasonable and overall cost was about $40 a person. Service was good but not great.

We would consider returning if we were staying at the Park Hyatt again.
