Loved the ambience, loved the service, loved the location. However, although the food was delicious...but the portions were WAY too small and the prices where high.

Lunch at NoMi was fairly disappointing. We had 2 sushi rolls, both seemed fresh enough, but were completely tasteless, skimpy on avocado, and the tempura in one felt like it was days old. Rice and fish not seasoned. Our steak frites came pre sliced & undercooked, with a salad on the same hot plate as meat and fries, which I always find off-putting. Service was fantastic, view beautiful, but leaving there at more than $100 per person for lunch, the food should be excellent and it most definitely was not.

Food was unmemorable, which is very disappointing given the price point. Would not go back in the future.

The room is lovely--elegant but not stuffy. The meal starts with a complementary aperitif that is a nice touch. The shrimp beignets appetizer was ample but a bit tasteless. The maki appetizer was flavorful and accompanied with ample sauce. Chateubriand entree was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful as were the accompanying potatoe crquettes. This was a restaurant week special deal and when looking over the regular menu, it and the wine list are exceptionally overpriced. We were charged $22 for a martini!
Wait until next year to go on a special deal--would not be worth it otherwise.

The customer service at this place is astoundingly bad. They do not answer the phone and require you to leave messages that they don’t return. Now for the actual ambiance, you get off an elevator and into a space with no seating and one of the worst host stands I have ever seen. For a high end hotel, this is beyond subpar and needs to be drastically changed. The layout is confusing, the food leaves you hungry and wondering what you paid so much for. This is a classic tourist trap Michigan Ave location that has no business being in business. There are so many more cost effective options within a couple of blocks that this should be the last spot you pick in this area.

Great experience for a group of out of town guests. We were seated by the window which was awesome. I ate from the restaurant week menu and it was an excellent value. Entrees were excellent but sides could have been better. Everything else was wonderful.

Food was good. Some of the food came out luke warm.
If going sit by the window as the rest of the restaurant seemed dated. Very limited menu.

We were at restaurant week for dinner. The setting was nice, the service was excellent and the noise level quiet. The food was not up to par. The sushi roll was good. The beignets had no taste. The fish had no taste or texture. The chocolate dessert was excellent. The apple, not good. Dry. We will not return.

We came to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful time. Our waiter Michael Kelly set the mood for a fun evening. He was friendly and patient and definitely understood it was a special occasion. We both ordered from the Chicago Restaurant week menu which offered tempting choices for every course.

The shrimp tempura maki roll was fresh and delicious. Quite a generous appetizer for one person! My friend had the onion soup which was totally different from others I’ve had. Kind of an upside down version so it wasn’t blanketed in cheese. But very tasty.

For entrees we both ordered salmon which was cooked exactly as we ordered. Very fresh, and delicious. Finally, my favorite course, dessert. We had the chocolate mousse which was rich, and included tiny beignets and dollops of caramel. Devine!

I love this place!

Service for such an upscale place left a little to be desired. Maybe because it was clear we were there for restaurant week, as this was the first thing the hostess asked, definitely distinguishing between their regulars and interlopers. The waiter did not shed any light on the menu items. Busboys were attentive and view was lovely. Dessert was particularly outstanding.

We scored a table by the huge bay window overlooking the park and thoroughly enjoyed the view, the food and the over-all ambiance. NoMI has become our favorite mid-day destination for brunch or lunch.

Considering the amount of money paid, I was disappointed in NoMi. My wife loved her meal, which is why my star rating was relatively high, but I did not care for the croquette part of my duck croquette. The croquette was slightly overcooked (there was a dark brown spot on the exterior; not fatal, but you expect near-perfection for $300 for two people) and the meat inside —confit duck leg off the bone — was bland and basically flavorless. The two slices of duck breast that accompanied it were superb, but they were just two slices.

The salmon beignet appetizer also displeased me, but that might be my fault: I was expecting more beignet flavor with hints of salmon, and I got more salmon flavor with hints of beignet. They were denser than I wanted (again, I was expecting more of a beignet texture) and reminded me unpleasantly of salmon patties (also my own personal bugaboo).

I also had the Five-Onion Soup, which was fine, especially when I chanced upon one of the small croutons and cheese.

My wife thought her dinner of scallops and salad dish of petite maché, kald and dandelion were superb. For dessert we shared the assortment of sweets and treats, which I recommend. Between us, we had six drinks, which added $100 to the bill. Which is to say I probably could have bought five entire bottles of the bourbon I was drinking for that amount of money, or at least four bottles.

The food was everything one would expect from a restaurant of this stature. While the views from the window seats have spectacular views, we quite enjoyed our table that was near the open kitchen as it allowed us to watch some of the food prep and plating. Topping it all off was the personal attention from the sommelier, Jillian Riley -- due to unexpected travel our budget for the meal didn't allow us to go for one of the more expensive bottles, but she greatly enjoyed helping us find a bottle that fit both our budget and meal.

The staff who greet and returned our coats could benefit from customer service training.
The dinner was fine; we have considered going to Nomi on a Chicago trip for a while and we were frankly disappointed. Just not quite as wonderful as we would have expected. We would like to commend the sommelier- very knowledgeable and she selected a terrific wine for us.

It was beautiful. We had an amazing time. The menu for restaurant week offered a good variety as I’m a pescatarian. The sea bass dish with the lentils has to be my favorite. The portions are just right and the atmosphere is beautiful. Can’t believe I haven’t been here before. Thank you to Chef Terrance for such an awesome evening and his amazing team. Will be back soon.

Great restaurant right on Michigan Ave. Our party of 4 were lucky enough to get a window table, and it was a wonderful view of Chicago. The food was good, not great, but the service was on point and the wine selection was great. We picked out a lovely Pinot Noir, and wanted a second one but they ran out. They were able to help us pick out another great bottle, and enjoyed the rest of the evening without worry.

The Restaurant Week lunch menu was delicious. The appetizer options included a sushi roll and a salad. The entrées were an avocado salmon—very tasty salmon and avocado in unique presentation. Didn't try any dessert. Wish they still had the chocolate rock garden, or a similarly innovative option. Beautiful view of the water tower, if available, they will seat you right next to the windows.
