Have dined at the NoMi many times. The food is always excellent and beautifully prepared. Original entrees, soup, and deserts never fail to please. An excellent selection of wino. Beautiful view, great place for dining.

I took my wife to Nomi Kitchen, as it was impossible to get a reasonably timed reservation for the dinner. We were disappointed. The most disturbing thing about the experience was that both my wife and I had an upset stomach the next day. I suspect it was something wrong with the squash/pumpkin seed soup. Perhaps sitting around a bit too long. We shared this. I suppose it could also be the desert, which we also shared.

The menu, in general, consisted of "OK" food served in beautiful dishes, with little spritzers of colored stuff scattered about. Pretty. The selection was OK, but it seemed a bit like the Chef must be out for the day and we were getting pre-fab dishes. The exception was the squash soup, which I suspect, gave us indigestion. The dessert menu was largely a selection of ice cream. One would think that Nomi could cook something themselves, rather than serve up prepared stuff.

Overall excellent experience, food was prepared perfectly and presentation was very nice.
Waiter was attentive and he cocktails were refreshing. Attire was dressy or smart casual.
Highly recommend.

Nomi was excellent as usual - extremely fresh and well prepared food, very attentive but non-obtrusive service, tables spaced so one can talk, and beautiful views. It is very elegant without being formal or stuffy. Truly a pleasure (but not inexpensive....)

I typically do not take the time to write reviews unless they are really good, or really bad. This experience was really bad. If it wasn't Valentine's Day we would have left before there was a drink or bread at the table. Those events took 25 and 30 minutes respectively... That wasn't even close to being the worst part though. On my reservation I requested to sit by the window because I was aware of the potential view, I did not expect that to be accommodated as they stated during the reservation they would "do their best". HOWEVER, I did not expect to be seated in a hallway with a makeshift table below an exit sign on way to the bathroom. I've done business at the Park Hyatt and sat up here for lunch, never have I seen them setup tables in such an awkward tacky area of the restaurant! Frankly it was embarrassing, it was obvious that they overbooked and setup a few extra tables there to make some extra money due to the special occasion and the fixed price/menu. When our waiter finally came to the table 10 minutes after us being seated, he did NOT introduce himself, he did not welcome us, and he did not wish us a Happy Valentines Day. He asked if "we wanted a drink", and came back 15 minutes later with our martinis. The only reason I think they can back at that point is because I was looking around (obviously frustrated) and the bus person could sense it and flagged our waiter down. The bus person was actually great throughout the night otherwise the service would have been close to a 0. The 4 course meal took almost 2.5 hours, everything came out EXTREMELY slow. I love spending time with my wife, but a half hour between courses (not quite, but almost) is a little overboard. The table in front of us way also getting very frustrated, I noticed they got their desert "to go". All of that being said, I must admit that the food was very good. I just can't believe for that price point ($490 with tip, still left 20%) how disappointing the service was.

Everyone dish was wonderful. Pumpkin soup and roasted squash salad for starters, lobster gnocchi and venison entree. The view is beautiful.

I do like NoMI a lot, but this was not my best meal there. We were a little unimpressed by the restaurant week menu, so instead ordered a combo of things off of the regular menu. Everything was good, though not quite great. I had the lobster gnocchi which left me wishing for a little fluffier gnocchi and a bit more umami flavor. I also had a side of the roast carrots which were just meh - probably would be better as a mixed root-vegetable roast.

My dining companion had the salmon beignets which were delicious, but a very small portion. The salmon roll was good as well, but nothing groundbreak.

The star of the evening was the pumpkin soup which I would drink a mug of on a daily basis if given the chance.

I peeked at the dessert menu, but on a cold Chicago evening, after a long day of work, all I wanted was something comforting a warm, not wild and crazy flavors, so we passed.

Overall a bit disappointing, but certainly won't stop me from coming back.

I put in the reservation notes that is was our anniversary and our waiter greeted us with 2 glasses of champagne on the house and gave us a special dessert with happy anniversary written in chocolate! It made the night so special and unexpected. It was such a lovely surprise and above and beyond what we could have expected! Food, service, and atmosphere were all incredible! I would definitely recommend and go again!

We were very lucky as we got the last window seat facing Michigan Ave. The menu did feature some of the current selections on the lunch menu, with 2 courses available for $22 and $33 for 3 courses (includes dessert, highly recommend it). My daughter (La J) and I both had the Smoked Salmon Beignets as our starters. Lovely dill crema & meyer lemon with the right amount of twang, plus the arugula & pickled fennel. Because we are so sempatico, we both got the Gnocchi (lobster, tarragon butter, bright lights chard, parsnip) as our second course. A very lovely balancing act of flavors. I didn't use any salt and pepper...La J and I both agreed that would have through the balance off.

For dessert, La J got the caramel apple mousse and I got the Paris Brest. The caramel apple mousse reminded me of a candied apple. The out shell looked hard but it was not. There was this lovely airy mousse with a center of caramel in it. It reminded me of a molten lava cake with this great fluffy center and a liquid center. The Paris Brest was lovely as well. Don't be fooled by the black pepper cajeta. It is traditionally a slow-cooked Mexican caramel sauce that starts with goat's milk...very good. There was a praline cream and pralinettes decorating the plate.

I have read reviews and heard people describe the service at NoMi as being haughty or disdainful. I am not sure why they felt this way. I sometimes wonder if people who feel this way feel that restaurants like NoMi are out of their league. Myself, I have dined here before and always found the service and environment to be friendly and relaxing. Our server, Gabriel, was friendly, lovely and attentive. The food was simple, but well executed and tastefully done. The only way this could have been a better experience was if the glasses of Prosecco had been free :-)

We have dined and had drinks at NoMI many times since 2007, including regular dinners and special events. We decided on a lunch date during restaurant week 2018 and the food was delicious. Not so many patrons there at 1 pm Friday, so it was surprising that the dessert took 15 minutes or longer to arrive, with no explanation. Unfortunately, that put an unnecessary stress on a really delicious menu, so we had to box the dessert once it arrived and scramble back to work. Wait staff still very attentive but it was odd to have such an experience at a premium place we love.

Go for the fabulous view not the food. I searched my overbooked salmon beignets for anything other than sauce. Likewise my salmon rolls had minimal salmon. My husband couldn’t even find anything on the restaurant week menu and settled for a very ordinary overpriced BLT

We stopped in NoMI for breakfast on our anniversary. The nice thing is that they were able to use my Hyatt points for breakfast. Breakfast was good, but not great. It was also pretty pricey. Service was great! I look forward to going back sometime for dinner. The sushi looked quite tasty!

We went to this restaurant to enjoy their special Restaurant Week dinner menu. We had a very enjoyable evening. The tasting menu was very good, but I was a little disappointed that nothing seemed to be truly memorable - all good; nothing stood out. The staff was very nice and made us feel very welcome; the restaurant interior and the view are outstanding.

We attended NoMI as part of the Restaurant Week deals in Chicago. The food was wonderfully presented and tasted great. The service staff did a great job at making sure everyone felt comfortable: being engaging, attentive, and fun without being overbearing.

It was easy to enjoy our meal with views overlooking Michigan Ave, the Water Tower, and the MCA.
