The restaurant was very cool. It had a very unique atmosphere with all of the decor and live music. I went here with a group of 10 people which was very nice since it’s hard to find a restaurant to accommodate that many people on short notice. The food was good but they did not allow any substitutions which was a little weird since my friend wanted to remove one of the ingredients on a salad but the waiter said they couldn’t do that. She had to end up ordering something else. I also did not know the restaurant did not have a liquor license, so make sure you’re aware of that before going or you will be slightly disappointed like I was. Otherwise the restaurant was definitely an experience and overall a fun time.
Our first time at Nomad , the food , service and ambiance were great.
We will be back on a weekly basis!
Loved it all!!!
Loved the food, performers, and service!
Each dish was prepared and presented beautifully. The Halumi appetizer was exquisite. The entrees were wonderful in their Moroccan style.
We sat in the alcove outside, which was protected from the rain, but still al fresco.
The special that night was a fish tagine that was outstanding!
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC hadn't been for 2 yrs because of COVID.I met an old friend we sat on the street in a makeshift coverall. They had a live jazz trio ss a bones. We split an appetizer of grilled Halumi cheese inside grape leaves with roasted tomatoes in oil very good. He had lamb shank tajine a stew of prunes almond inside a pot with a sauce delicious he said. I told him the sauce use to be thicker this was watery. I had salmon crusted in pumpkin seeds with mixed vegetables. It was very moist and seasoned well. It was a very good meal
Great place. Service and food excellent,
Great experience. Sat outside which was pleasant (a little busy w fast traveling bikers). Very friendly service. Good food - we had the triple couscous dish and the triple dip appetizer - very tasty and enough for two ppl. Not too pricey. Would definitely recommend the restaurant to others.
Great food and service
Lovely restaurant. We went to break the Ramadan fast at 8pm. Great food and service, and charismatic owner.
Always a spot on place yo fine with friends. The owner Is very warm and accommodating.
Food was amazing, especially for the price!
NOMAD is a great East Village restaurant. Very good food and service.
Great food, lovely ambience, great vibe from staff!
One of the best dining experiences we have had in NYC this trip! Everything from walking in the door to having the owner share his restaurant with us was incredible. Go hungry! We had the trio of dips, the homemade sausage, the fattoush, the lamb tajine and the chicken cous cous. The food was divine - recommend rolling off with tea ❤️
I had a truly wonderful dining experience at Nomad East Village. I started with the arugula and beet salad - which was fresh and delicious. I then had the pumpkin seed crusted salmon with vegetables, which was fantastic. And I finished with the chocolate cake, which was amazing. The service was outstanding and the prices most reasonable. I look forward to returning soon.
We had a very good experience at this restaurant. The meat was cooked very well and it taste delicious. The service was excellent. The ambience was good as well. I just wasn’t impress with the bread we had - it was very hard . I wish we had a choice of something toasted and softer taste.
Got there with a reservation on Valentine's day, and had to wait for almost an hour outside, crammed with other people and being left behind by newcomers chasing the hosts across the room, supposedly at "25%" capacity. We were still hoping to have a good meal when we finally got in, but they were out of Lamb so we had to order a Steak the waiter recommended to us. Then, they were out of Steak too, but they only realized 20 mins later, preventing us from ordering anything else. The waiter gave us a free beer when the proper thing would have been at least free dessert. At this point, we realized that ordering home wouldn't have been so bad after all...
The food was absolutely AMAZING!! Best food I had eaten in a while and I’ve been trying a lot of different restaurants. The ambience was incredible and beautiful. The design within the restaurant is gorgeous and really makes you feel like you’ve traveled to another place! The service could have been more prompt. But the food and ambience blew me away so we will definitely be back!
Great ambiance and unique food selection. I would dine again!
We made a reservation for 2 to NoMad on a saturday night for 7:30 PM with the seating option as "standard". Because indoor dining had just opened the night before, I called to confirm that my reservation was indoors at 5:30 PM. The host confirmed, and was very kind and friendly.
When I showed up to the restaurant at 7:30 for my reservation, the host was nowhere to be seen. I asked several members of the staff if they could help me get seated for my reservation; however each either ignored me or put their hand to my face to indicate "not now." After 10 minutes of standing in the cold, the host approached us. We let him know we had a 7:30 reservation for 2 under my name, and he replied with "I dont care, I dont have tables, its one hour indoors or you can sit on the street." Mind you the street indicated outdoor dining; however the restaurant did not have its outdoor heaters on, had a band taking up most of the ourdoor street seating area, and the remainder was occupied with people waiting for tables. I told him we had a reservation, and the it was confirmed indoors two hours prior, to which he responded "I try to help you, you don't listen."
He then proceeded to walk away. I never got to eat at the restaurant because I never got my table.
My only complaint is the heat. This was the first day that they reopened indoor dining in New York. The staff put us in a back room which was fine, but there was little to no heat. The only difference from eating in that room versus outside was that the wind could not get us.
I am so looking forward to go back there and have the couscous with merguez. It was so good. The people who work there are super friendly. Love it
Restaurant says open and takes reservations but is fully shut down. Showed up at my CONFIRMED reservation time and the restaurant was locked and no signs of life. Terrible. They should AT LEAST update their phone system and website to say closed and not take reservations....
Great experience. Staff was so kind and gave great recommendations.
I have been here a few times and I actually love this place this is one of my favorite places. staff is always so good as is the owner
I have been here a few times and I always have a good experience. The Personnel are very nice and the food is delicious
Very good Chicken Tagine and Royal Couscous. They still had live performance schedule on Saturday (usually after 7pm) but we got there early and could not stay to enjoy it.
Went there with a party of 9 for my birthday and it was so nice. The food was great, live music was great, service - everything was just great!
Nomad has a relaxed vibe, casual atmosphere, yummy food, lovely staff. I have eaten only outside over the years, and it’s a great people-watching spot. I’ve always felt comfortable lingering after our meal.
Note - sound level is based on being outside because of COVID. Great food, live music on a Friday night. Service was a bit scattered but I think they're still ironing out the outside bit.
Nomad is one of our most favorite restaurants in the city. Every friend whom we've taken there loves it and makes plans to return. The place is cozy and charming with its North African decorations everywhere including the bathrooms. It's a fun place to share dishes.
My favorite foods are the Boreks, grilled CauliflowerMergez, flat breads and Halumi appetizers. We also loved these entrees: any special-of-the-day, Tagine and of course, the Chicken Pastilla.
Nomad also had a great Sangria and good Happy Hour drinks and bites.
We brought a friend for his first time to Nomad and he can’t wait to return.
We loved the beef Boreks, grilled cauliflower, Sangria, lamb Tagine and the salmon. Desserts were good too. As a plus, Friday night there was live music.
We love this cozy restaurant and their delicious foods, particularly the Boreks and Halumi cheese.
It was fun evening with good food and a live show.
I made a reservation through OpenTable for brunch at 11:30 AM on a Saturday morning. We showed up to the restaurant and it was closed and the door was locked. No one contacted me to let me know the restaurant would not be open and my friend and I were forced to find another location in the middle of a rain storm for brunch. Very irritating!! OpenTable should have known they were closed and/or the restaurant should have had contacted me to let me know they would not be open. Waste of time!!!!
Food is incredible. Staff is very courteous and friendly. Unlike many NYC resturants it’s relatively quiet so one can talk. I have gone there many times.
Gorgeous restaurant and both food and service were divine. We went for NYE based on another recommendation and it was wonderful!
Very slow service but delicious food!
The meal was delicious and the service was great. Music was a bit loud but they turned it down upon request.
