Great experience. Staff was so kind and gave great recommendations.
I have been here a few times and I actually love this place this is one of my favorite places. staff is always so good as is the owner
I have been here a few times and I always have a good experience. The Personnel are very nice and the food is delicious
Very good Chicken Tagine and Royal Couscous. They still had live performance schedule on Saturday (usually after 7pm) but we got there early and could not stay to enjoy it.
Went there with a party of 9 for my birthday and it was so nice. The food was great, live music was great, service - everything was just great!
Nomad has a relaxed vibe, casual atmosphere, yummy food, lovely staff. I have eaten only outside over the years, and it’s a great people-watching spot. I’ve always felt comfortable lingering after our meal.
Note - sound level is based on being outside because of COVID. Great food, live music on a Friday night. Service was a bit scattered but I think they're still ironing out the outside bit.
Nomad is one of our most favorite restaurants in the city. Every friend whom we've taken there loves it and makes plans to return. The place is cozy and charming with its North African decorations everywhere including the bathrooms. It's a fun place to share dishes.
My favorite foods are the Boreks, grilled CauliflowerMergez, flat breads and Halumi appetizers. We also loved these entrees: any special-of-the-day, Tagine and of course, the Chicken Pastilla.
Nomad also had a great Sangria and good Happy Hour drinks and bites.
We brought a friend for his first time to Nomad and he can’t wait to return.
We loved the beef Boreks, grilled cauliflower, Sangria, lamb Tagine and the salmon. Desserts were good too. As a plus, Friday night there was live music.
We love this cozy restaurant and their delicious foods, particularly the Boreks and Halumi cheese.
It was fun evening with good food and a live show.
I made a reservation through OpenTable for brunch at 11:30 AM on a Saturday morning. We showed up to the restaurant and it was closed and the door was locked. No one contacted me to let me know the restaurant would not be open and my friend and I were forced to find another location in the middle of a rain storm for brunch. Very irritating!! OpenTable should have known they were closed and/or the restaurant should have had contacted me to let me know they would not be open. Waste of time!!!!
Food is incredible. Staff is very courteous and friendly. Unlike many NYC resturants it’s relatively quiet so one can talk. I have gone there many times.
Gorgeous restaurant and both food and service were divine. We went for NYE based on another recommendation and it was wonderful!
Very slow service but delicious food!
The meal was delicious and the service was great. Music was a bit loud but they turned it down upon request.
The best North African food in NY.
I went with a group of friend and it was great experience- I was worried for few people but they loved their lamb tagine.
Incredible tagine, very attentive service. They even went above and beyond for a picky child.
Fantastic service, amazing food. Will return.
The food was great however our server didn’t really check up on us until it was time for the bill. Other than that it was a lovely experience.
The food was perfectly prepared and delicious. Great service.
Excellent East Village choice, perfect bore NYTW performance.
Great food, great atmosphere, definitely worth a try
Great food reminded me of home
Authentic Algerian dishes and recipes were very good. Service was very attentive.
Great food and excellent service. The waitress Ramona was always there for us. Thank you Ramona!
We would come back!
The food is exquisite and the ambiance is divine. Great service, and when they have live entertainment it’s always top notch. I could eat here every night.
Waitress charge service fee even we are just 4, and very aggressive, I won’t go back.
We had a very unusual experience at Nomad, which initially would have caused me to avoid future visits to their establishment. However, they managed to handle it with grace and good humor, which made it low-key, and not a major issue. First, we ordered appetizers (olives, and a grilled cauliflower dish), which were promptly served, and delicious. Then we ordered three lamb tagines, but the entrees that arrived were all chicken, instead! They were immediately removed, and only 15 min. later, the lamb dishes arrived (also delectable). Just as we finished, the very nice waitress had to deliver the unfortunate news that their computer was suddenly down, and we would need to pay with cash! A quick stop at the bank across the street, and after a very tasty (free) lemon pie dessert, we took our leave. The poor waitress couldn't have been more apologetic or attentive, the chef(s?) quick to fix, and the problems (where possible) were promptly addressed. The food is very good, and the staff is exemplary. Thank you, Nomad, for also keeping it light and funny! We'll be back.
I ordered a bronzino. It was very dry and flavorless.
The food was delicious and staff was very attentive.
Lamb tajine and Lamb méchoui were very good, but our first choice was for Merguez couscous and this moroccan restaurant was surprisingly out of merguez on a Friday night. It was also out of Harissa sauce, which is even more surprising. Finally, the cocktails sounded orignal. However you could not taste the alcohol in them, so either it was forgotten or there was very very little alcohol in them, which was disappointing. Our first waitress was very friendly though.
Such a great atmosphere. I love this restaurant. Food is soooooo good .def will be back
Wow! Nothing short of amazing. We came here during happy hour and had three drinks (2 Pinot Grigios and a beer), the chicken skewers, the mussels, and the dip trio with pita for $44. Such a great deal. The dips were amazing and they make the pita in house. The mussels were sooo tasty with a good kick and the skewers were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was incredible. Also, we had our dog outside and the owners brought him a bone! So lovely. Cannot recommend more.
I wanted to love this place but it was disappointing... the food was ok but nothing crazy (as a Moroccan I don’t think that was really tasty) and the server didn’t know anything about the North African food, she couldn’t answer my questions. The atmosphere was kind of quiet during the week
OK for a quick drink and tapa, but wouldn't go again for a full meal. We had four appetizers, all o.k. but no stand-outs. Bread was excessively dry. The whole ambiance didn't feel terribly clean.
Small portions for what they charge but the food is pretty great!
We made a reservation for noon on Saturday 4/27/19. We arrived at noon, and a female staff member unlocked the door and told us they weren’t open yet, that she would need 30-45 minutes to set up the outdoor seating. We walked around for a half hour and came back. When the female staff member saw us, she said “I guess I can seat you, I’m still cleaning.” Then she tossed her broom down on the floor and went to the back to notify the kitchen staff. We almost walked out at that point, but really wanted to try the food, so we stayed (although we were quite offended at how we were being treated). The staff member did not ask if we had a reservation and seemed to know nothing about it. She later told us her boss did not arrive at 11am to open as an explanation for seeming rushed and stressed. I understand that these kinds of situations happen, but her dismissive treatment of us and the fact that she knew nothing of our reservation was inexcusable to us for a restaurant that is highly rated. We felt better by the end of the meal, but I was shocked that she actually asked for a good review after giving us free dessert and wine to apologize for our wait. To me, that was in bad taste. How about offering a nice gesture without asking us to lie about the service? The food was delicious but the staff need to improve. Also, we were offered only a limited lunch menu when the website does not specify a limited lunch menu, and the menu stand outside had the full menu on display. The dish I went there to try was not available.
Great spot for a group birthday (8 guests). Our server was definitely busy, but was very attentive and always there when we needed her. Looking forward to returning!
Great location, especially if you want to get dinner before seeing a show at New York Theater Workshop or some of the other theaters in that area. The food is fine, the value is good, and the service is very friendly. A good local place.
