Never disappoints. I love Nomad!
Love this place, excellent food and ambiance. It gets pretty noisy on the weekends though, best to go during the week or on offhours.
Their mixed drinks are amazing!
Amazing food, setting, service. Ramona was great, enthusiastic, gave perfect recommendations. Could not recommend this place more for a unique dinner in the city.
Attractive space. Good vegetarian choices. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
The only problem my party had with Nomads was the pushy singer that was "singing" during our dinner. She came over to our table asking for money for her band. I believe this was uncalled for and should not occur.
they weren't open on our scheduled reservation for a 1PM brunch on Sunday, so we had a find a last min place to have brunch for a surprise birthday. it was very disappointing.
My friends and I came for the New Years eve pre-fix dinner. I thought it was a bit pricey for the neighborhood: $75/person plus 20% tips for large group. The appetizers included a nice tasting soup and three small tarts- all tasty. For the main entree, I ordered the Quail as per the waitress's recommendation. It was honestly horrible. Not only was it presented poorly due to mostly bones on the plate (extremely challenging to eat, and frankly, nothing much to eat), also tasted bad. I did not taste any Moroccan spices. My husband ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out medium well. The steak tasted much better than the quail though. I made my husband eat my quail... The dessert plate consisted of 3 things: lemon tart (delicious), pistachio cupcake (best one), and some very hard piece of chocolate with sticky caramel (not good).
The open bar was 2 hours which consisted of wine, beer, and prosecco- this was a huge plus!
Our waitress was really sweet and awesome but she was the only person serving about 30 people in the back.. so she was really overwhelmed.
Overall, I thought the ambience was good, food was okay (needs improvement), and service could potentially be better if there were more waiting staff.
One of the best in the neighborhood! I'm a regular, and you should be too...
I made a reservation through open table for 6 but the restaurant didn’t receive it. We waited 10 minutes for a table. When we sat down we waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come, another 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and an hour and 15 minutes for food.
This was a pre theater dinner so we were there early, it get busy as we were ready to leave. A larger crowd would affect service and noise level I’m sure. We had a very good experience and will be back.
Very attentive, food was good and they wouldn’t let us leave without dessert, so they treated us. We were there in a salsa night which was nice, but we couldn’t really talk.
I love Nomad and go there frequently. The servers are thoughtful and attentive, the food is wonderful, the prices are reasonable and its proximity to New York Theatre Workshop makes it an all time favorite for me.
My second review in few days, we had to come back for Thanksgiving because our positive experience last week. the $25 3 course turkey meal including a glass of wine or prosecco was a blast!, The most delicious turkey ever, soft and tasty, a real masterpiece. The Band was playing all kind of tunes, and some talented guests diners performed also. Authentic New York feeling in the air! We made a reservation for 7 for New Years Eve, they have a $75 all included deal with a band and the deejay. Who knows, Christmas day they are open, they might see us also!.
We came downtown to eat pizza at a restaurant that a dear friend recommended. When we arrived at the place the young owner was extremely rude and unwelcoming, so we changed plans and go for north African cuisine next door where the gracious hostess came out in the cold to explain some of the dishes on the menu stand. She then found a way for us to seat in the very crowded dining room. A north African band was playing and that was a very welcomed surprise for us. We met the New Manager, which guided us with suggestions trough the menu and the specials of the day with great enthusiasm and made us laugh with some great stories about the place. We followed his recommendations and, since this was our first time in the venue we decided to share some of the best appetizers from the oven, beet hummus from the specials, merguez and the most delicious fried calamari ever!. Main courses were also shared; Lamb Mechoui, Chicken tagine, oven roasted whole branzino and fire roasted mushrooms were simply to die for! After the sublime feast we followed the server recommendation to try some of the Algerian chef's homemade desserts. The Date pudding and the chocolate mousse were outstanding work of art! We thank everyone in Nomad for making our dinner the best we had in years and we will recommend the place for year to come. We will be back for Thanksgiving, the deal they have is unbeatable! merci beaucoup!
great place. been there several times. good menu. i recommend it.
There was no one there when we first walked up which I got nervous about. But the food was absolutely amazing. I’ve already recommended people to go there.
A very sweet, North African restaurant. The food was very authentic. Our server was lovely but disorganized. Some confusion with dishes that were served and the bill was incorrect and had to be adjusted. One other comment, middle eastern music rather than american pop would have better suited the lovely decor.
I’be been dreaming about the lamb raging ever since. Absolutely incredible!
Subpar food, garbage service. Don't select the late night time slots, because they'll make your experience miserable, so you'd leave quick.
My wife was bitten a number of times by insects on her feet while had dinner. I cannot recommend this place as a result.
one table was occupied when we arrived for a 6:30 reservation, but we were told we could sit in the back by the kitchen under the loudspeaker or at the door, despite a dozen or so free tables. The manager said they had reservations (which we had) -- and by the time we left, there was one group at the bar, not at a table.
The food was quite good [we had merguez and cauliflower as appetizers and chicken pastilla], but despite an empty house, the service and kitchen were slow.
Excellent food and nice ambiance
This place was great!
Restaurant was closed for no reason I made the reservation for Sunday at 1:30pm and the place was closed! I double check their schedule and they were supposed to be open Open table needs to be on top of restaurants schedule. Very disappointed. Will be making reservations the old way calling in advance.
I recommend it.
Service and food excellent. Good vibe.
Great place to dine before theater. NY Theater Workshop is just around the corner.
We had a variety of delicious appetizers. Service was excellent.
Food is excellent. Place is quiet. Staff seemed busy but nice.
Sitting outdoors on a nice summer evening at Nomad is a real treat! Delicious food and personable, excellent service made our evening very special.
Delicious food and really nice staff!
We had a Family celebration for 11. Paid over $700.00 for poor service. Disappointing because it was highly recommended to us.
May be because we chose a table in the back room, it was difficult to get the waitor.
The service was good. Much attentiveness given to our party.
The food had changed since my last reservation a year ago. The food was bland and not very tasty. Very disappointing.
Lovely waiter. Food was delicious!
This place is closed, horrible opentable experience
We are never disappointed at Nomad. We had a flatbread this visit. Excellent!
Great food, decent service and nice live music.
We have never been disappointed by the food, service or prices.
The back room is perfect for a party (25 p). Mr.Zebentout works with you for the menu and pricing.
Good food and good service, but the back room was too noisy!
Food was good and quite generous. The noise level in the front area was very loud because they had live music there. the small space had several large speakers and I couldn't talk to my dinner companion next to me without leaning in and shouting. We were offered a table in the room in the back but that room was exceptionally warm and already very loud.
The bisteya was a bit sweeter for me than expected. The trio of hummus, babaganoush and mahummara and the cheese stuffed grape leaves were good. My dinner companions really enjoyed the merguez sandwich.
