About Nola - Palo Alto
Nola is a bit of New Orleans located in the historic Ramona Street Building in downtown Palo Alto. Our menu consists of Creole, Cajun, and Latin cuisine. New Orleans favorites, such as hurricanes, fresh oysters, gumbo, seafood jambalaya, and étouffée, are just a few of the classics you will find.
The party stretches out over three floors, with seven different funky dining areas. Nola has one of the largest collections of Southern folk art on the West Coast. Come check out what Fortune magazine voted as "the hottest bar in the Silicon Valley." Welcome to the party--grab a Hurricane, a group of friends, wrap yourself in our mardi gras beads and “Laisser les Bon Temps Rouler!!”

Nola - Palo Alto Ratings and Reviews
I went on a date with my honey and we both ended up getting the Spicy Jambalaya with a side of corn bread. We also shared their delicious Nola's hurricane and for desert we shared their bread pudding. Everything was on point and very tasty. I highly recommend this place!! Love love their food.
The skirt steak is a must have. Some parts of the restaurant were very noisy and the hostesses seemed to be a bit confused an unprofessional- said our table was ready then left us standing at the podium, drinks in hand, while they seated others for over 5 minutes. Didn't address us during this time (why call us away from the bar to say our table is ready?) They seemed very young, could use some customer service guidance.
The food was good as always. The service was a guy running a script. He basically told us what food we have to have and what drinks we needed to have and didn't listen when we disagreed. The portions were small for the prices and we were more or less ignored in a room with no one else.
I've only been twice, but I will continue to come back. The food taste like real New Orleans-style food. We had a mishap with them not find any my reservation on my birthday, we had a mishap with them not finding my reservation on my birthday but they end up accommodating us. I feel like that was good customer service.
Nola was great! I've been here a few times now and each time I didn't have to wait for my table, the ambience is amazing and the decor was unique. Whether it was for brunch, dinner and a date, it was awesome! I have had the chicken and waffles, jambalaya, mac n cheese crab balls and the blackened salmon BLT. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. My last visit was on 2/2/2018 with my Fiancé and he enjoyed himself as well. We'll definitely be back and it is a place that we would love to take his parents when they come and visit.
The food was okay, not special. The server emphasized that the "regular" was spicy - but we should have gone with the "spicy". Good shrimp, but the food was pretty much non-standout versions of typical New Orleans cuisine.
The service was good, and the staff very friendly.
A unique eatery with extensive drinks menu and flavorful Cajun food. The atmosphere is truly one-of-a-kind. We sat in the central dining area and enjoyed the outdoor-market vibe. Definitely on the loud side. The meal was delicious; every dish was executed very well. I look forward to dining here again.
I reserved this restaurant for my birthday dinner at 4 p.m. on Sunday (1/28/2018) and arrived there on time I showed them the open table reservation on my cell phone with my name, and the lady looked at it and let us sit a table by the fountain. We ordered sangria, mini cocktail, gumbo, crab guacamole with chips, and shrimp and grits.
Food was just ok but not that good as I expected.
At night, I received an email from Open Table, and Nola said that we didn’t show up. What??? I took pictures of food today and have receipt. We are so disappointed with their business mind. I cannot give them a good review.
We had a great time, and the food was amazing. My only complaint was it was freezing. There is no physical front door, and for some reason they had the back door open and there was a stiff draft running through the place. Once I requested them to shut the door it was better. Ladies, bring a sweater.
it was a horrible experience. We ordered different dishes and they were both cold when they gave them to us. Mine was eggs Benedict and eggs were cold along with the chicken and bread. My friend chicken and waffles and everything was cold. We informed them and they brought the food back to us and it was still cold. My friend had ordered a gumbo, or something that as an appetizer and they did not bring it until the end of the meal and once again it was cold. How hard is it to cook food and get it to your customer warm/hot. Especially the second time.
I've been to NOLAs several years ago and everything was good. Now I will not go back to that restaurant or recommend to anyone. Actually I will warn about going there and getting lousy food twice in one sitting.
Food was fantastic and the server we had was very friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. However, the hostess was extremely rude when we asked if our table was ready for our 7:30pm reservation. We arrived very early, 6:30, and checked in, so we went next door for a quick cocktail. Went back to Nola's at 7:25 sharp for our 7:30pm res. and were asked to wait. Then, two different sets of parties of 2 came in and told the hostess that they also had 7:30 reservations and they were promptly seated. When we asked why others with the same party size and reservation time were seated before us after we checked in at 6:30pm, the hostess gave us an attitude and asked us to follow her. She laid the menu's on the table and kept walking as if we weren't even following her to the table. She wouldn't even have known we were behind following her. Extremely rude and immature and frankly if I was ownership wouldn't have her representing Nola's.
The food was excellent. I was catching up with an old friend enjoying the food we ordered and we were in no hurry to leave. Evidently the waitress was, and at a point later on in the evening the waitress kept coming by asking if we needed the check. Then it was did we want to box our food, then another waiter came by later and asked if we needed a bag for the food. Every time she came to the table it was to ask about something that would get us out the door faster. After it was clear to here that we weren't leaving anytime soon she finally advised that he shift was about to end and asked if she could close out our bill. It put a damper on what otherwise was a nice evening catching up with an old friend.
I enjoyed my chilaquiles with bottomless mimosas, while my husband had the Southern benedict and my daughter had the farmers' scramble. She appreciated the vegetarian options. I wished there were fried oysters on the menu, and could have used one more refill on my mimosa. Overall a great value for the caliber and quantity of food and drink.
