Nola is a bit of New Orleans located in the historic Ramona Street Building in downtown Palo Alto. Our menu consists of Creole, Cajun, and Latin cuisine. New Orleans favorites, such as hurricanes, fresh oysters, gumbo, seafood jambalaya, and étouffée, are just a few of the classics you will find.
The party stretches out over three floors, with seven different funky dining areas. Nola has one of the largest collections of Southern folk art on the West Coast. Come check out what Fortune magazine voted as "the hottest bar in the Silicon Valley." Welcome to the party--grab a Hurricane, a group of friends, wrap yourself in our mardi gras beads and “Laisser les Bon Temps Rouler!!”

About three years ago I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with some girlfriends for my birthday. My friend raved about the chicken and waffles. The whole group ordered the chicken and waffles and they were spectacular!! I've always wanted to return so luckily I had a $100 gift card so we picked Nolas (choices were Milagros, Town, or Nolas). I could not wait for those chicken and waffles. Unfortunately the meal had completely changed. Instead of two beautiful breaded cooked to perfection chicken breasts with golden waffles it was now three over fried chicken tenders and three overcooked waffle triangles with way too much rosemary which completely overpowered everything. Even the dipping sauces weren't as wonderful as they once were. There was a spicy gravy and a butter honey flavored sauce in two silver containers (same as before) on the plate. The maple syrup (which was organic and not very tasty) was in a jar on the table. So disappointing!! My husband had the spicy jambalya and he was happy with his meal.

We also ordered the beignets for dessert. Again, pretty disappointing. Instead of the dipping sauces (caramel and chocolate) in their own containers, they were poured directly onto the plate with the beignets. So if you wanted to experience just the caramel or just the chocolate, you were pretty much out of luck cause you got both no matter what. My husband ordered a coffee which was lukewarm at best.

On a positive note, our waitress named Rebecca was wonderful, very personable and polite. We didn't wait that long for dinner or for dessert. The ambiance is awesome and pretty cool decor inside.

Unfortunately not the greatest dinner but not the absolute worst.

Overall pretty good. Great service. The chicken and waffles was a real disappointment. (more batter than chicken. )

Amazing food, great service, great drinks everything was really good. Only negative was they were cleaning up because it was late and dude was spraying cleaning fluid on the windows and walls and it was misting towards us and smelled like cleaning fluid way too much. Other than that things were really great!

One person in our party didn’t get his dinner until everyone else had finished. Three people had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get their drinks. They ended comping us over $80 on our final bill, realizing how long everything took. Also, the bathrooms were disgusting and desperately needed cleaning.

Service and atmosphere was good but food was lacking. Clearly not made fresh with some dishes being reheated in a microwave. Won't go again.
