   Love their flatbread pizzas, just wish there was a little more variety on the menu. The service is above reproach, and they're quite friendly. All in all, good food, good service, and good music!

   Noir is great if you are searching for that relaxed 1920’s speakeasy feel that is high class. Excellent ambiance and atmosphere that feels like you’re in a ballroom. The service is wonderful, but beware they are specifically a whiskey and gin forward establishment. Great place to meet up with friends for a nice night out or for a date!

    We had a wonderful evening, listening to Indigo Monks jazz. The flatbread pizza was crisp yet gooey. The charcuterie went perfectly with my martini. The chocolate cake was awesome. All together, the atmosphere was intoxicating.

    Snack tray was average. We realize staff is hard to find, but each waitstaff had too many tables to service. We were not offered a booth although there were some available. Nothing in the reservation gave me an option to reserve a booth. The music was good. The beverages were distinctive. We want to come back for a jazz artist.

    Though I didn't eat this time, I did blast out a few brain cells on their fantastic drinks. Their little pizzas are very good. The place needs jazz, every weekend. I enjoyed the music well enough but Ames desperately needs a dedicated live jazz joint. We'll, I do anyway. The service good and the staff in general are competent, friendly professional and dare I say attractive. Whomever is doing the hiring knows what they are doing.

    Our first visit to Noir was a fun experience. More people need to know about this great venue with live music. Very few places have live music plus unique drinks and food. Service was enthusiastic and very accomodating. Everything was excellent. We will be back.

    The flatbreads were very tasty. The drinks (both signature cocktails and bourbon samplers) were excellent. The staff was very attentive and knowledgable about helping decide which ones to try. Very comfortable and classy atmosphere.

    I made the reservation for my wife and her friends. They had a very nice table and enjoyed my band, as did the other patrons. My wife didn't care for her drink, but that's not your fault. She was trying to get something similar to a margarita. Oh well, other than that, it was great.

    Our first time at this little hidden gem in downtown Ames. We heard they had a jazz band and the sound was great! We had a wonderful waitress who explained several of the special drinks and the different blends of the bourbons. Had one of the appetizers which was delicious. This is a great little hidden place to get away from all the hype of sports bars and enjoy a quiet evening with top rate entertainment. Check out their website for future entertainment…we’ll be back to enjoy the drinks and ambience!

    Noir has been open for a year and still can’t seem to get things right. I’ve been to Noir three times since they opened about a year ago and they still struggle with the same issues. The acoustics are a bit wonky - you can never hear the person singing. The drinks are WAY too sweet. I ordered an old fashioned and it tasted like I was drinking simple syrup. The food is great but over priced for what you get. The service is always slow and the servers always forget something no matter how busy or slow they are. I thought they’d get better since my last visit in late July of 2021, but all that has changed is a new cover charge and some new food items.

    You have a friendly attentive staff, which is hard to find now a days. However we will not be returning so many things wrong with our last experience and I even sent a private message with no apology back. Just a few of the things that happened from our last visit alone. Change of band, we get it things happen but you still need to notify people who made reservations that there is a change of performs. We still got charged a cover fee even though we were there waiting and waiting for the “actual singer” Right speaker was not on Christmas decor is still up (it’s tacky) The open table menu prices/ menu do not patch the in person one.

    The flatbread and drinks were absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful and the place is beautiful. Unfortunately to pay $30/person with a group of 6 for a music performance and being seated in the one table in the place that only a third of our group could see, was incredibly disappointing. Sadly we drove 45 minutes for this and while we frequent Ames for other reasons and loved everything else about the place, we won’t likely return because of this.
