A celebration of the classic cocktail bar, the beauty of simple, balanced drinks, and those late nights spent with friends and family. Discover the historic cocktail families that laid the foundation for the ever-evolving world of drinks we enjoy today, along with their tried-and-true modern variations. Nocturno was born from late nights spent in dimly lit cocktail bars, where the air is filled with the fresh zest of a recently squeezed lime, the rhythmic clunk of a large ice block in a shaker as a frothy daiquiri comes to life, and the warm crackle of a vintage record setting the perfect mood in a candlelit room. This is our love song to those cozy, intimate cocktail bars—where great memories and real connections are made over tasty bevs.

Wanted some drunk eats so made a reservation at Nocturno. A La Louisiane ($17): A powerful Manhattan variation which needed careful sipping to savor the deep taste without melting the brain. Pickle-Brined Chicken Fingers ($14): Three good-sized pieces. The batter coating was great, very crunchy. However, overall the chicken was just adequate. The fatter middle was a touch dry compared to the juicier ends; also didn't notice any pickle or spice, rather mild in flavor actually. Value: Awesome for the cocktail, but once again the food just isn't quite there, especially at the price. That's two strikes so far (the first was the Prosciutto Tower). Service: On point from Kaylin and the rest of the bar crew.

After spending an inordinate amount of time locating a parking spot (seriously, Wednesday nights in the Arts District are invaded by hundreds of cyclists), I needed a drink before the show*. Enter Nocturno. The pleasant hostess let me choose my preferred seating arrangement, which was the bar. I let bartender Kaylin know of my time constraint and got down to business. Peach Blow Fizz ($17): Tall cool foamy and fruity, especially strawberry. A great mood perker. Service: Super friendly and chatty from Kaylin without degrading prompt service. Value: Awesome for the made-to-order-with-fresh-ingredients cocktails. *Crossover plug for the Fallout Fringe Fest, running until 25 June, chock-full of hour-long comedy, drama, and musical performances in various downtown venues like the Majestic Rep Theatre and Vegas Theatre Company.

Note-as of the date of this review, Nocturno is in its soft opening period. Grand Opening is scheduled for 29 May. Was immediately recognized by the hostess when I walked; pretty impressive as my last visit (my first) was nearly three weeks ago. She gave me the option of bar or table; selected the bar. Atmosphere: Very lively. Space seemed very busy and popular, lots of conversation, but could still hear the music from the speakers. Studied the extensive liquid offerings in the red book and ordered (all at $17)- Queens Park Swizzle Dark: Cooling, citrusy sipper. Brandy Flip: Nutty spiced frothy delight. Almost went for a second but had to try the Nocturno Espresso Martini: Became one of my favorite versions due to the strong caffeinated pick-me-up with a deep well-rounded robustness and cushioned by vanilla and banana. Value: As powerful as the cocktails. Service: Well-coordinated and gracious from entry to exit. Bar itself was very well staffed by the personable Michael, Kailen(sp?), Lou, Cornelius, and Skye(sp?).

From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in an atmosphere that perfectly blends chic elegance with a welcoming, unpretentious vibe. The cocktail menu is a work of art. Clearly curated with passion and expertise, each drink offers a unique and delightful experience. Forget your standard well drinks – Nocturno's mixologists are true artisans, crafting innovative concoctions with high-quality spirits and intriguing flavor combinations. Beyond the exceptional drinks, the ambiance is spot on. The lighting is perfectly dimmed, creating an intimate and stylish setting. The décor is thoughtfully designed, specially with the records on the wall, with comfortable seating and tasteful touches that make you want to linger for hours. What a phenomenal place! It just opened a couple days ago and it’s right in my wife and I’s wheelhouse for what we like, super personable bartenders that took the time to talk through what we were in the mood for, great upbeat and eclectic environment, hostesses that were enthusiastic and welcoming. One of the partners spoke to us before we left and we spoke about their influences from a great bar from NYC back in the day, Milk and Honey. We are going to go back every opportunity we have. We wish them nothing but success in their new venture!! P.s. Thank you for being so welcoming, there are a couple new places opening that come across very full of themselves. It’s a complete turnoff.. (charging a ridiculous membership fee and filling out 500000 questions just to come have a drink).. this place was nothing like that and really gets it. Congratulations everyone! You really hit it out of the park!!

We had a wonderful time experiencing Nocturno. Downtown has needed a bar like them for a long time and I am glad it is finally there. This is my third visit and I look forward to many more.
