Omakase was subpar!
We had a wonderful dinner at Nobu and will definitely return. The General Manager, John Greer, met with us and was very gracious. Our server, Wesley, was just the best. He explained the menu and made some recommendations that were fabulous. This place sets the bar for delicious food, ambiance and outstanding service. We are already planning our return trip with some friends to enjoy it again.
Awful taste. Awful food. Ok service
Amazing food - taste and quality. Fish was presented beautifully and the seasonings/sauces enhanced every bite without overpowering. Satisfying but not heavy at all. Outdoor seating was great. Server was attentive but not in your face and did a good job following our lead as to level of interaction. We don’t want to eat sushi anyplace else now.
Sat upstairs at the back. Zero ambiance away from everyone. Expensive.
We were made to wait well beyond our reservation time despite open tables. DJ music and open concept made it so noisy that we could not carry on a normal conversation.
Nobu was a great experience on our recent trip to Newport Beach. Service and food were exceptional. Enjoyed the slightly more formal vibe from the other restaurants on the Peninsula.
Wonderful experience on the patio. However the scent of “cig” smoke was so prominent. Throughout the experience .aside from that ! Nobu The best sushi ever lovely service and attention to every guests needs .. delightful detail in every dish .
Very nice but got a little cold outside.
They forgot to give us spoons for the miso soup and there was no soy sauce. Additionally, the table next to us was very loud, we had to almost scream to hear each other.
Service was the slowest I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The food was fantastic when we got it. Each course took about 20 minutes to get the next one after it took about 3 minutes to eat. The restaurant didn’t seem exceptionally busy that day so I am not sure why the service was so slow.
amazing! Would absolutely recommend!!
The brunch is always good. Been here couple times and here are some things I would go back for:
The steak was sooo juicy and yummy! Also the sushi was good. I usually go there for the OYSTERS!!! This time the oysters were not as good as the last time I went, this time oysters were bigger and we all know smaller oysters taste better... drinks are good, service is always on point! I dont do the rolls and the unagi no good. Was thinking to bring my son but he only likes unagi was trying it to see if its worth the price for him to go but unfortunately no...
Nobu is located in a nice area with a marina view. The sushi was good but the side dishes were not. The spicy scallops had no flavor and a bad odor.
The usual great food and service. This isn't the place to visit for huge rolls on a budget. Of course it's expensive - it's Nobu and it's in Newport Beach. I can't understand other reviews that complain about the prices as if they are surprised. If you like high quality fish, good cocktails and unusual sushi and asian food preparations you will like it here.
Amazing food, more casual than I expected, and a bit louder than I expected
Our waitress knew all of the gluten free options, amazing service. Food was okay.
Below average service and really high prices
Terrible service. Laughable.
More food would of been nice. Still hungry after $330. 00☹️ Other then that we had a great time
Excellent from start to finish.
Great menu and great presentation and amazing taste!
Bad service. charged for food
I didn’t order. Portions were beyond tiny.
Finally found good sushi to eat in the OC! Moved from Colorado that had my ultimate favorite sushi place, Namikos. Moved to the OC for work and haven’t been able to find sushi that was on par with my favorite. Nobu’s fits the bill!
One year anniversary
Always delicious! Ended up just eating in the bar as we arrived early for our reservation. The service was great! We hadn’t expected any happy hour options but they had quite a few - all of which we delicious!
Great location. Good food but very overpriced.
That’s just it, a experience! Go for the experience don’t go if your hungry! Unless you gave at least $500 bucks for a meal!!
Not Nobu caliber are all. Looks washed up and servers are over loaded with tables.
The wait staff was very attentive and informed. The food the excellent
This place was amazing food wise and it’s in a beautiful location. The only issue I had was it was pretty cold out and although they had an overhead heater on the patio they had patio covers that would violently flap outward during a strong wind and it knocked over a glass and broke it at another table. They had to raise them and the wind blowing and it was super cold.
Food is highly overrated and expensive. ordered fried okra which came out burnt and bitter.
The Wagu was the most delicious steak I have ever had. I would go back for that.
We had Prem as our server and he was absolutely amazing! Great recommendations and delicious food! Ambiance is perfect, as expected!
Food was great, but check in process was a nightmare, and they wouldn't honor our restaurant week reservation for dinner until after 6. And there was so little fish in the rolls it was difficult to identify what kind.
Great atmosphere and ambiance. Omakase dinner gave a great selection. Loved some dishes, but others were mediocre. Jidori chicken was almost not even worth eating. Miso seabass was the best. Filet meat was chewy. Tobanyaki was just salty yuzu. The cooks love yuzu, and honestly I was getting tired of it in every dish. I hear the Vegas location is better. Great place, good times, but underwhelming food wise.
Nice location. Horrible service. If you want Nobu go to New York. It took thirty minutes after we sat to have someone take our order. And that was because we chased after them to try to find a waiter. Who then asked if we were ready to order. Duh. And to be clear it wasn’t crowded. 45 minutes in the first dishes arrived. My wife spilled some water and no one bothered to clean the table until 15 minutes after we asked. At which point they cleaned it on to her. In the process they took away dishes and brought them back cold. No supervision no management just a bunch of untrained kids. Food was unremarkable. Bill was not. You will get better service at McDonald’s. You will get as good food at any other place. Nobu should be ashamed. Just disorganized mess with average food.
We came here to celebrate my girlfriend birthday.
Service was horrible. We sat outside and seemed that we were forgotten. Definitely not coming back at least to this location.
