With more 10,000 square feet of stunning indoor-outdoor space, including an outdoor covered terrace, dynamic bar & lounge, and exquisite special event space, Nobu Houston provides the ideal setting to enjoy signatures like Black Cod with Miso and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño, world-renowned sushi, and Houston-inspired dishes and cocktails.
It was a really great experience from the time
I walked up to the hostess desk to leaving.
Great service, food, and specialty drink offerings
This is the most outrageously overpriced and NOT WORTH IT sushi I have ever had. What a disappointment. We left after having 5 pieces of sashimi and 2 total glasses of wine and our bill was $85. Unbelievable price gouging and so not worth it. We left and went to have sushi and a much better restaurant where the entire meal was about the same price as a skimpy appetizer and a couple glasses of wine at nobu. The atmosphere is sparse and tables crushed together along a wall w a bench if you are a couple. I recommend not wasting your time or money. We eat sushi a couple times and week and all over the world. This was BAD.
Decor is similar to an average hibachi you can find in any neighborhood strip mall
Food is comparable to a sushi buffet. Sushi rolls drenched in sauce is an insult to Sushi.
Service is as arrogant as Uchi’s people
Price is outrageous like New York
Nobu and Robert di niro should be ashamed
This is just a 2 start sushi restraints.
Such a great way to celebrate my friends birthday!!! Delicious food and great service.
@veganinventures thoroughly enjoyed Nubu. It's often hard to find a good sushi restaurant as vegans. We ordered just about everything on the menu that begin with "VEG". It was all delicious. We started with rice cakes and avocado smash, then veggie tacos (the best), tempura batter mushrooms and sweet potatoes, mushroom soup (very good), Miso Eggplant (also very good) and ended with a veggie roll. Service, food and ambience were excellent.
It was okay
Waiters were just in hurry to get us out and we just wanted to take our time and enjoy the food
Food was great
Came for Friday night dining , it sees overall a poor management issue, service was slow , cocktails tasted like water, and food ,,, you can get better quality at your local whole food sushi stand...
the ambience was quite and lame, not your typical Nobu experience.
Best friends birthday dinner was amazing.
Excelente la comida y maravillosa atención.
Comimos delicioso. El servicio bueno sin ser extraordinario
Overall disappointing experience
For 175 menu, didn’t see any surprise comparing with Kata Robata, Uchi and Roka Akor. The worst cost benefit restaurant I’ve been in Houston so far...
Unbelievable service. Happy hour provides a great opportunity to sample some items. The yellowtail sashimi jalapeño and rock shrimp are amazing!
It is a great restaurant, probably the highest quality / level of sophistication in sushi in town... yet you do have to pay for it. I strongly suggest ordering either the omakase or talk to your waiter and have him/her select a variety of nigiris, sashimis, etc... it is a feast worth the price!
I had never done a Chef's tasting menu before at a sushi restaurant, but this was a great place to start. We went with the Classic which was outstanding. I'll definitely try the Contemporary (more locally sourced) next time.
Nobu should translate to "Nobody should eat here". We were accompanied at our table w/ unwelcome guests; fighting off gnats for most of our dinner. The decor and overall atmosphere was lackluster... As for the food, overpriced for what you'd get elsewhere. Please don't waste your money... You've been warned!
I would only recommend for experience because of the name but food is okay and service was not too great. Very much loud inside.
Service was too slow. Food was ok, nothing extraordinary.
We let our excellent waiter Michael pick a serving option for us. We can him a budget as well as likes and dislikes and he customized a meal for the three of us. It was superb and a great birthday treat for my daughter. Highly recommend this spot. PS since it was a week day we did not find the noise level obtrusive and could easily hold a conversation
I attended this restaurant for an anniversary dinner and the staff was nice as the hostess and our waitress congratulated us on our anniversary. My wife and I both had omakase (chef’s choice). Given the price of this meal, the seating next to other guests was too close. Our peer patrons were all friendly but there was not much privacy because you are seated so close with other couples. This restaurant is a place to be seen however notably the people at this restaurant were not all dressed properly and there were many open tables during prime time on a Saturday night. The Nobu brand brought us here but the current dining experience is not on par with comparable fine dining restaurants so I would give Nobu Houston a solid four stars rating.
This relatively new entry in the high end sushi market brings a big name and (yet more) high quality seafood to Houston but falls down in service and character. The space resembles the big box store area it was carved from in the Galleria. What should have been an energetic glitzy crowd on a Friday night was, well, ho hum. The service is a confused mess, one never knows who is serving what to whom, the sushi chefs are harder to understand than most and not particularly inclined to spend much time with those sitting at the bar eager to order omikase. Seems the Nobu name may have gotten a little too proud of itself. Better to try Uchi, MF, Kata Robata or Kuu for a better experience and servings at least equal if not better in quality.
Wonderful dining experience. All the food and drinks were incredible
Awesome dining experience from beginning to end. All dishes were so flavorful. Loved the drinks. Great place to dine with a fun group.
Food was good but had to keep fighting gnats that were hovering over my meal and drink
This was are first time to NOBU. We were very disappointed. Sushi was below average and the prices are on the edge of ridiculous. I think there was a waygu taco for $64. Really? Lots of better choices in Houston. Our Sushi was room temperature and did not taste fresh.
Had a lovely happy hour with visiting friends and family. Very attentive staff. We took one of everything on the happy hr menu. The lettuce wraps were a highlight.
This was our first time to this location. Food and service were fantastic. We requested the chef’s choice and added the wine pairing. This is a fantastic way to try many dishes that you may not normally order. Of course, you can make requests to tweak the choices per you food allergies or aversions, for a possible slight up-charge. Everything was fantastic. I have been to other Nobus and Houston is not quite as posh as the celebrity touted locations but... that also allows for a dress up or more causal vibe and be comfortable with either. Will definitely be going back.
I was quite underwhelmed. I’ve been to Nobu in New York and Vegas and they’re a step above Nobu Houston. The food was good but for the price it didn’t feel special. I will consider it in the future for a date and the great drinks but if you’re going for sushi that you can afford turn towards Kata Robata or Izakaya Wa
The food at Nobu Houston is great, much like the food at any other Nobu Restaurant, however, the ambience on the patio is lacking. The view of the parking lot and busy street don't help, and there were two types of music playing at the same time, one from the restaurant and another loudly from the downstairs valet area. In a nutshell, when you've dined at Nobu Malibu, the rest can be a huge let down.
My wife and I went to Nobu Houston for dinner. It was our first time there. relative to peer restaurants and food selections choices, we felt the pricing for both the food and drinks to be high. A Blanton's Bourbon was $28, while at peer restaurants it goes for $15-$19. Other drinks were in the same inflated range. The food was good, but again, the quality, value, and taste, did not justify the inflated price relative to peer restaurants. The Service was the most disappointing part. It was a Saturday night, 7pm, and about 1 out of 3 tables was open, so it wasn't crazy busy. Our waitress was a bit absent and poor on the attention to details. My wife has some gluten allergies so accommodated appropriately. I ordered some sushi and while ordering my wife asking questions was looking to try some but need to make sure the selection did not impact her allergies. We found a few that were ok. The waitress brings us a separate Gluten free soy sauce, but never brought me a soy sauce plate, so now we are looking to flag her down to get another soy sauce plate so we can begin to eat. My wife ordered another glass of Chardonnay, and to say the least it was a "soft pour". Later, I requested a refill on my Pinot, to which the waitress ask to clarify which one. 20+ minutes later, no Pinot. I flagged her down an tried nicely to remind her about my wine order (which I had no glass on my table since she took it), and she reacted like I was asking for one. She made no effort to apologize and/or acknowledge the oversight. When it came time for the bill, she was rather engaged in dialogue with other tables and MIA to recognize we were ready for the bill. Plus, she or, to have others failed to reasonably and timely buss our table, leaving empty plates for us to dine with. Overall, based on the experiences described here, my wife and I were disappointed and do not have any interest or desire to return. Just was not worth it, based on the food, prices, and service.
Food was delicious, service was excellent! The only detractor was a crying child who persisted over 10 minutes- no fault of Nobu but a downside to a great dinner
Delicious food wait stuff was prompt and courteous. Enjoyed very much my friend who were accompanied with us were also very happy Already recommended so many people
The fish was mealy and everything was drenched in too much sauce. Everything was extremely overpriced for the average quality of the food. I’d expect for an almost $500 meal, the food would be phenomenal. Disappointed.
Food was outstanding!! Service not so much. Great atmosphere.
I grew up in Los Angeles so I am VERY familiar with Nobu. So the excitement of a Houston location was high. My wife had never been, so for her birthday, this was her treat. She is now a HUGE fan!!!!!
The Nobu Experience was brilliant as always! I have been to the one in London and Houston maintained and perhaps even surpassed the legendary excellent quality of food and service that Nobu is known for. Our server Jackie was phenomenal!
We enjoyed excellent food and great service. They wen above and beyond for our daughter's birthday.
