The Studio PCH designed restaurant, is nestled in the perennially hip and centrally located Waiea Tower. Nobu Honolulu stays true to the Nobu brand featuring décor to create an intimate and elegant atmosphere.
Black Cod Saikyo Miso
It is a quiet place to enjoy great Asian style seafood dishes.
First time experience was good... our server was awesome and very detailed and food was delish! Will be back!
Way overpriced for size of portion. Several selections were not stove hot.
The food was really
Felt minimized here. Seemed we were pre-judged to be lower level customers, based on table given and attitude of server.
Very disappointing. We are local residents, totally capable of affording high end dining, and accustomed to better service and respect.
Sorry to say this was the second time dining here and both were similar experiences.
Will not be back!!
Nobu first-timers and it met every expectation! Walking into the restaurant was like stepping into a zen world of simple lines in a dreamscape ambiance of wood and darkness with beautiful, unobtrusive lighting perfectly projected onto the middle of the table. This atmosphere set the stage for the presentation of the food and it's flavor. The service was impeccable, thoughtful, helpful and conscientious. We loved every minute and will definitely be back and spread the word!
Get the Miso Black Cod. Best dish on the menu. Although you can't go wrong!
We are Nobu fanatics. We visit Nobu whenever we travel and we have been to many! This is our 2nd visit here in a week and it does not disappoint. Food is excellent and the service is great!
Great food and service. It is very expensive and the servings are very small. I also felt that our waiter seemed irritated that we did not order more food. Overall, the food was very tasty, but be ready to spend >$200 if you want to not leave hungry.
David our server is very attentive and nice. He changes our impression of Nobu which I always think it just another chain restaurant.
Very nice overall. A bit dark
The food quality is better in NY. I was disappointed with the rock shrimp tempura. The batter was over cooked. The crab tempura was over dressed. The food quality is not consistent with Nobu in NY. I was disappointed Bec the prices are about the same. Not sure I will go back next time we are visiting Honolulu.
Celebrated my 51 birthday at Nobu ..will be back every year .. If you have to worry about cost don’t go... This place is Awesome !!
As the host/hostess lead the incoming guests, they say “irasshaimase!” Which I find it really weird. That should be said towards the guests by the chefs or the waiters/waitresses. Sorry, I’m Japanese and teach Japanese language and culture at school, so I find it kind of annoying to see such a wrong practice being done at a first-class restaurant. Every Th in horse was perfect, though.
Food was outstanding, service was excellent. I would definitely recommend.
My husband and I really grew accustomed to Nobu's. We love it so much. The ambiance is quaint, dark. Not too fond of the two-seater tables that are lined up in a row. Makes it less intimate setting due to the close proximity of each tables. Almost of eavesdropping on other couple's conversation due to music decibel level in the room, almost forced to speak up. When available, we jump at the chance to seat at the Sushi Bar. Wish it wasn't first come first serve, however, we're always grateful for the opportunity. My husband prefers the sushi bar because its animated and lively and he's able to watch Itamae create different dishes.
Food is always incredible. Whatever we choose, we always light up. It so delicious. I love the uni nigiri. So smooth in texture and creamy. By far the spider rolls are the best I ever tasted and we both adore the unagi nigiri. The Wagyu Beef Dumplings are our favorite and we always wished it came in 4's because it's really hard to get dibs on the 3rd last dumpling.
We love going to Nobu and I believe I made my husband a true fan believer.
Nobu's quality of food is consistent (prices are high, but the rent in Ward Village is astronomical, so it's expected). The numerous young servers in the restaurant were good in keeping our table and plates clean and cocktails replenished. However, our server was not always around, so it was confusing that sometimes we would give our drink order or dessert order to someone else because our server was no where to be found. If that's the system, they should make it well-known from the start with all their patrons.
My family loves sushi, in fact three of the four in my family are Japanese. There are levels of quality in sushi and sashimi. Nobu wants to charge for the best quality but not offer the best quality. The salads at Nobu on the other hand are top notch. Service was above the review here, Nobu somehow got this right.
Went for valentines day so we may have just had an off night but 6 dishes took almost 4 hours things we ordered we were told sold out hours after we placed our order and the food was good but the attention to detail was just not there. The yellow tail tartar had multiple tendons in it that were over 3 inches long. Not very appetizing for 30$.
The service is horrendously slow and inattentive.
Quality of the food is as gone way downhill.
We have been to Nobu in the past on a non-holiday. Because it was valentine’s we expected it to be a full house. But when we arrived we were seated at a table squished between 5 other small tables. My partner is on the tall side so he was quite uncomfortable throughout our meal. The restaurant felt way overbooked and although our waiter was attentive and did as much as he could, the ambiance did not met our expectations. If we are paying the same price as what we would on any other given day, we expect the same quality of service, if not better since it is such a special day for most guests.
We made reservations a month in advance for Valentines Dinner. This experience was truly awful. I was at Nobu a few weeks prior and it was delightful. Valentines was a bust. We were there for almost three hours with little food and a bill of $300. The kitchen staff was yelling at each other and we couldn’t get service. So we paid and left and ended up at Whole Foods.
It was what we had expected, small but delicious portions and a great staff who made sure we were always taken care of!
The atmosphere of the shop was good and it was a delicious dish
It was perfect in every way!
Food was great with a big variety from sushi to lamb chops. Most of us had not eaten there before, so the waiter was very helpful explaining the dishes and proportions. Loved the cocktails, very creative. Definitely go again
Wonderful dinner, excellent service. Very expensive so would return only for special occasions.
It’s ALWAYS a Special Occasion when we go to Nobu Honolulu. True, we use to be regulars at Nobu downtown NYC but now here on Oahu we feel like Family. It’s our special occasion restaurant or even our Friday night restaurant. Contrary to what others believe you don’t have to break the bank to eat here. Look at our photos to see what we eat and check the prices. You will also feel very relaxed and therefore you will enjoy everything. The other night we had our usual Uni Taco, New Style Scallops, Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Special: Hearts of Palm Salad with Peperocini and an unreal Wagu Dumpling. Go and you will feel like Royalty.
Over priced food.
We sat in the left section. It was dark, cold (a good thing) and quiet, exactly what I wanted. The only two things that I had a problem with was, ONE-the white bottle that is in the table, was not filled with what I believe supposed to be soy sauce. I assumed that the restaurant wanted us to eat our food with just straight wasabi. I thought it was an “authentic “ Japanese way so I didn’t want to feel stupid asking for soy sauce. I only noticed that it was supposed to be filled with soy sauce when at the end of our meal, the waiter took it away and looked inside and seemed shocked/surprised that it was empty. He checked the one in the table next to us and that was also empty. TWO- the tables are too close to each other. Luckily no one was sitting at either side of us. But I could only imagine how terrible our evening would’ve been if there were people next to us. They be way too close. Another problem with the tables being so close, was that the waiters stood to the side, behind my girlfriend, whilst taking our orders and talking to us. That was awkward for her to look up and to the side, as opposed to if the waiter stood on the side of both us is equally, where we both could look up at a comfortable angle. Aside from that, we loved the everything about Nobu!!! We will definitely come again! As long as it’s dark, quiet and cold like when we came. Thank you!
Wonderful dinner with family
The best meal we have had in Hawaii
Well worth the cost
Birthday celebration, weird location but service was great, wine was awesome and food Devine!
A little disappointed in this experience. It did not match up with other Nobu’s that I have been at. Could of been an off night. Some of the food was good others were so so not the typical level of Nobu.
Amazing service. Amazing food. Cocktails are tasty. Would also recommend the king crab tempura and ahi uni truffle miso!
Outstanding! Fresh ingredients prepared well. Service was also 10/10. Desperate for a few Wagyu dumplings now!
Great quality food!
