It was a good experience. Good food. Service was a little bit slow due high occupancy.

What a place!!! We tried a few items from each section on the menu and everyone of them were unique to its own taste. If you like well prepared meals, this place won’t disappoint. Everyone from the valet to the host to our server were welcoming and courteous.

Everything was great. The waiter was very busy and our table was in an awkward area of the restaurant.

If you go to Nobu and leave without ordering the lychee martini and lamb chops (medium cook, of course) you’ve truly done yourself a disservice. Absolutely amazing.

The food is delicious. The drinks are decent. The service could have been a little bit better. We didn’t receive our food in the sequence we ordered it. It took me 30 minutes to get a Coke and Wagyu slider. We received our sushi rolls first which were ordered 15 min after I placed the order for the Coke and slider.

I miss really great sushi. Moving from Chicago to South Carolina has put a damper on regular access to high quality sushi. Whenever I travel, I look for restaurants with great reviews. My fellow diners led me to a wonderful meal. The waitstaff put together our menu based on our suggestions and it was perfect!

The food was as good as always, and we love eating at Nobu. The noise level, however, makes it very hard to hear the people at your own table. We were in the front third of the restaurant, and perhaps because of the crowd at the bar, it is noisier, but it makes a leisurely dinner harder if you can't converse with your guests.

Very over-rated. Some of their top, signature dishes were just ok. They described the crispy shrimp as being like bang bang shrimp (from Bonefish grill) and it wasn't as tasty as Bonefish but cost double. Service was just ok. Our waitress forgot we had even order, gotten and eaten our edamame. I expected quite a bit more for the price tag ($300 for 2 people).

The waitress was excellent. Knowledgeable and patient.
The pacing of the food was erratic. Appetizers came after the main course. The veggie roll was tasteless and the curried fish appetizers was mushy. These were the high points.
Conversation was interrupted by the staff clearing plates even while one was still eating from it.
I assume every restaurant has an off nite and this was it. I ill not experience such an off nite again.

Our service for the 2nd time in a row has been atrocious. We had to request food menus after sitting for 10 minutes. From that moment forward, we had to consistently raise our hand to get our server’s attention in order to request food or take away our plates. The delay in simply getting our drinks was much longer than it should have been. For a place where you will spend minimum $200 for 2 people, the least they can do is have decent service.

We had a great dinner at Nobu. Service was a little slow to start in terms of getting menus, drinks, etc. The food service was good though. It came out on time and well paced (we did the tasting menu). This place is not cheap and a little dark and loud just to prepare you for the ambiance. I loved it though and will be back.

We went there for our anniversary and had a reservation. Our table was not ready and we went to the bar to wait. Entrance is very nice but otherwise the seating area is nothing special. Food was good but for the price was not blown away. Good to try once but probably not go again. I’ve had better sushi for less the price and being that I am Peruvian the Peruvian dishes didn’t seem worth it than what I would get on the street in Peru for a fraction of the price. Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s great. But still good.

You expect to pay a fair amount for top of the line sushi. The prices at Nobu, however, are out of all proportion to the quality of food offered and are significantly higher than what other sushi restaurants charge. A better caliber of food can be had at Kaz Sushi Bistro or Sushi-ko at 2/3 the cost.

The service and food was awesome. We selected the custom menu and the server picked wonderful dishes, ones we would have never tried. It was a celebration dinner for my kids accomplishments and it was a memorable experience.

It was a cute low key restaurant. I decided to go for my birthday dinner.. but after having 5 different appetizers (all small portions) which was fine. They were all extremely salty. The sushi was actually salty like as if they marinated the rice and fish. The Waygu beef slider was really salty! Also got the dumplings and crispy curried sea bass it was just too salty. The drinks were ok, overall because of the apps we decided not to order dinner there. Went to mastros after.

The restaurant week menu was not worth the value at all. The appetizer and entree combined was less than the amount of a standard restaurant appetizer and the quality of ingredients was very low. The garnishes were cheap, unseasoned vegetables and there could have been some kind of starch included rather than charging an addition $16 for low quality sushi rolls. The dessert was something you could purchase at a supermarket. We were unsatisfied and had a second dinner afterwards.

The service is impeccable. I will say that though I enjoyed the appetizer (White fish dry miso) and the entree (the Black cod) immensely, the portions were rather small. I was not a fan of the mochi I had for dessert. The sushi was also excellent.

Best restaurant to visit during DC Restaurant week! Unbelievable value and a chance to try the best high end Japanese cuisine in the DMV. Also notable is their happy hour drink specials, available everyday 5-7p. Be sure to schedule your visit around this. Enjoy!

We went to Nobu to have dinner not for food tasting!. Although we paid more than $100 for couple but left hungry and went to another restaurant to eat dinner. If Nobu chose to be part of restaurant week for dinner then they have to serve dinner and not food tasting . It was not worth the drive or the money! I don’t recommend

The interior is beautiful. The food offers excellent flavors and VERY small portions. The 3-course dinner during DC's Restaurant Week was very skimpy, although full of wonderful flavor combinations and the freshest possible ingredients. The server began "upselling" right from the start, going over the drinks menu page-by-page and then reporting that most people order extra sushi because the three courses are not filling. (During an earlier visit when Nobu first opened, the upselling was extreme.) Why not offer a bowl of rice? Is that incompatible with the Nobu cuisine and ambience? Admittedly, the black cod entree, which was perfectly prepared, is normally $38, and the Restaurant Week set 3-course price was $30.20 total. In one sense, it was a good value although far from a full meal.

Overpriced. My water glass smelled horrible. Took the staff a few times to get me a clean glass. I waved to the manager for assistance and he walked right past me. We had a reservation and they took over 20 minutes to seat us.

We had to wait almost half an hour for our table, despite having a reservation. Obviously with restaurant week you don't expect the service to be great, but NOBU was the first one where I've felt like I was part of a revolving door service and they couldn't wait to get us out. They forgot to bring our drink orders, and despite doing the restaurant week menu, with the sushi add on and drinks you're spending over $140 for what was really nothing particularly special. The food was good but nothing above and beyond the expectation for such a restaurant.

The worst service I’ve experienced at any DC restaurant. Waitress refused to elaborate on flavors of dessert. Never asked how food was or if we’d like to order another drink. Ended the night by giving us a different table’s check. Food was mediocre at best and terribly overpriced.

Came here to try out their restaurant week. Pretty disappointed with the selection considering this is an upscale restaurant (I’ve been to 2 of their European branches). My first course was great. Second course was a huge let down (unimaginative & generic salmon teriyaki which was dry and overcooked). Dessert was good but not memorable (vanilla bean and milk gelato)

Food was spectacular. Service was very very slow. Other diners that came in after us, received their food before us. We were brought the same appetizer twice.
