Kelp salad was not enjoyable. Asked for seaweed salad and they served this. It just wasn’t good. Sushi and Sashimi were outstanding.

We chose nobu for my girlfriends birthday dinner and it was amazing. Adrian was our waiter and he was very knowledgeable and we chose everything that he recomended we get and everything was amazing. The staff acomadated her friend to call in and have two bottles of champagne delivered to the table with a note from the sender and made the whole experience one we will never forget.

We asked waiter to give us highlights of menu - he told us of special only. When we asked about the items we did chose, he gave us no information. Items we got were fine. Nothing special- better sushi in Phoenix! Overrated would not return or recommend

The food was fabulous, but the service was terrible. Drinks took ages to arrive, with the second round failing to show until we reminded staff we were waiting. The server was nowhere to be seen for long stretches- maybe they need more servers?

The fish was fantastic - the presentation is always great. The A5 Wagyu is top notch. It’s nice to see o DC restaurant that remains refined and not so contemporary.

Amazing food and the service was extraordinary. The staff was stealth about delivering each course and picked up used plates, utensils and refilled water and wine without intruding. Each course was delicious and presented very elegantly. Will definitely be back!

Overpriced, small portions and a confusing menu. Waitstaff were not helpful and we left with hefty bill and empty stomachs due to the small portions.

This location is trying way to hard to be posh and as a result is offering very little of quantity and the quality is average.

Had low expectations based on reviews. Last minute (4pm) Friday night reservation at 6:00pm (Thanks Open Table!!!) for my Sweetie’s birthday & enjoyed it more than I thought we would.

He loved his hand roll, my hot lobster dish was lovely if skimpy on the lobster (half serving, small) and heavy on the mushrooms; at least it involved a medley of at 4 types (no morels; its morel season; they should source morels for that price.) Sweetie’s sea bass hot dish probably tasted the most delicious of any fish I’ve had anywhere. If you aren’t a sushi person, try the scallop. A mere $6.00. Quite sweet and better than I expected.

Many of the dishes looked stunning with flower petals and shaved veggies that looked like foliage. Desserts visually were pretty and the sorbets and flavors more varied than typical Asian style desserts.

I had braced for the sticker shock and got it. An over $300.00 bill for two people for sushi appetizers, a hot and a cold plate each, one mixed drink and one saki and desserts is a lot compared to many other DC places that offer alot nicer ambiance for less. Yes, it’s the fish heavy dishes driving the cost. Fish is expensive. Still. The jarring thing was the dining room tries hard to bustle and give off a hip vibe. It’s noisy and who wants that for that price point? The worst part is the waiters all chant a welcome at each party as they enter the dining room. My date lived in Japan many years and the welcome is something street vendors say to get people to come spend at their carts. It got tiresome and irritating to have the wait staff yelling over and over as the dining room filled up. For that price I wanted much more sedate grownup ambiance. BlackSalt, is 10x more refined.

That said, if you are not a sushi person and your date is, you score major points because Sushi people know about Nobu.

Finally our server was sweet. He answered my myriad questions and helped me stay low carb.

The food was delicious. The service was great. It's expensive, but that was to be expected, as it wasn't my first time. The fish was so fresh, I was really impressed. I've already made a reservation to go back next week. That's just how much I enjoyed my experience. Some of what we ordered - - Spicy seafood soup, crispy rice, spicy vegetables, shrimp tempura rolls, tuna tacos, edamame, spinach salad with shrimp, SEA BASS (AMAZING)!

We have loved the NOBU experience globally. We've dined in five of them, including the Washington venue. But this experience DC was terrible. The food was excellent, but the service totally ruined it all. From bad wine service, to having dishes removed while we were still eating, to unresponsive senior staff, the entire restaurant seemed to be in free fall. The server's inability to get the situation under control only made everything worse. No NOBU again for us.

We were celebrating with a 3 month old. We went early for dinner about 615 on a Saturday night. They were very acvomodatibg and moved us to a quiet booth near the sushi bar. It was perfect for the stroller and three for dinner. Just right before all the chic millenials showed up with their dates on Saturday night. We were out by 830 PM. Valet was very handy. Pisco cocktails and cosmos were delicious. Standby black cod with miso and a variety of sushi was fabulous as well as the bento box for dessert. Match a as md chocolate is a perfect combo! Th ed real surprise was the spicy cauliflower. It was a standout and truly fabulous! A great experience and we will be back. Been to nyc nobu but this is more hip city style. Nyc more intimate and romantic. Both are great! And yes pricey but worth it!

Very poor service. We were rushed out and it was very obvious they were trying to turn tables as quick as they could. We were charged for things we never ordered, and were constantly badgered by waitstaff to take plates we weren’t done with. Very disappointing absolutely not the type of service expected from a restaurant with these prices.

Amazing vibe. Our server was fabulous! Was there with my daughter on college weekend tour. I ordered a martini that was amazing and we continue on with the sampler 8 course meal. Every course was better than the last and we took our time over two hours. Perfect and memorable dining experience. Someone obviously important was there as place was covered with secret service. We counted seven officers. Must have been the safest place in dc 🤔
