   We had high expectations for Nobu Chicago, having dined at the NYC flagship several years ago. The dining room is beautiful, but service was inexplicably slow on a Tuesday night. Food was delicious and expertly presented, but did not feel like a good value; portions were unpredictable relative to price. A $58 tempura crab dish was the size of a small appetizer, and crispy rice and tuna was $10 a bite. Yes, it’s a luxury brand and haute cuisine, but the ambiance and food quality pales in comparison to Miru and other notable Japanese spots in Chicago. We wanted to love Nobu, but it did note live up to the reputation.

   Unusually unoccupied at lunch. But great food and service. Miso Cod and Miso Eggplant were excellent as were sashimi and sushi. Cauliflower needed a bit more cooking. Sorbets were just ok. Good wine list. Another fine NOBU outpost. Having visited nearly 20 locations, many Tim’s, always a reliable winning experience. Highly recommended.

   The Spicy Crab and the Lobster and Wagyu tacos are so good.

   Overrated. Expensive. Food was good. Restaurant too loud. Service mediocre. Ridiculous to charge for a non-alcoholic beverage and to not include refill for iced tea.

   Great vegetarian options ; service was wonderful- the waiter shared 1-2 dishes that are off the menu that were delicious

   The design is amazing. The brunch is really overrated. We had a timeslot at 2.30 which was the last one. Their was a huge line, so we reached the buffet 15 minutes later. At 3.15 we where told there is a hard stop for the buffet at 3.30!?! So only 45 minutes to get your food….run to the desert buffet….where the complete offer was not available anymore….and run back to the buffet to get your last bites and then you can sit a enjoy the food. I expected more variety for $ 75 per person. I informed the personnel, but this was the system the told me. So we will never go back for brunch!

   The food was good and we enjoyed our waiter but the front desk staff were incredibly rude. This alone would keep me from returning or recommending it to anyone.

    We ordered the Omakaze experience. One of us tried the Nobu experience and two of us tried the Chicago version. It was disappointing. There was maybe one or two plates that were excellent but the rest were missing quality, creativity and special ingredients. The Nobu Omakaze was worth the price but not the Chicago version. As far as service, the main waitress took away from all the other workers that served us.
