Nobu - Berkeley Street
Booked the Berkeley Street restaurant for the wife's birthday.. Our reservation couldn't be found initially, but we were eventually seated after some apologies. Service was very good, attentive and quick. Lovely ambience, decor on the walls seemed a bit dated / looked like a GCSE art project. The food was excellent, the sushi selection had a good range of items, the black cod was incredibly succulent and flavoursome. We ended up ordering too much, even after we asked the server whether it was a good amount and she confirmed, no biggie. The restaurant provided the dessert on a plate with Happy Birthday written on it, which I'd subtly mentioned to the server when we arrived, so the other half was happy. I did find the food a little over-priced, but our overall experience was very good. The only negative point was that I had two separate drinks spilt on my clothes and jacket by two different servers, who profusely apologised.. I would have expected this to be acknowledged on the bill but I had to bring this up myself, which ended the night on a slightly bitter note. Would go again and would recommend!
Miso cod was excellent. Pork belly wasn’t crisped up like last time so was disappointing to eat. Loved yellow tail jalapeño and Takayuki.
Love it here perfect for an intimate evening, service is always excellent.
The bar was closed for a private function and we were only advised of the on the day of our booking. We were travelling over from Jersey so it was too late to arrange an alternative restaurant.
Delicious food and very good service, but quite noisy on Friday evening.
Always an incredible experience for my clients and I at Nobu. Incredible cuisine and great service combine for a perfect business dinner engagement. Highly recommended.
Delicious food... definitely the best sushi I’ve ever eaten! Super cool place, very good service and very helpful waiter, he recommend us the perfect sushi solution to order! I’ve loved this restaurant!
The woman who was our waiter was rude and the portion size was so small and way over priced and our food came out so late , so it was not an enjoyable experience
Lots of families / children in there at 8pm...
Cibo veramente ottimo , peccato che ci hanno messo al peggior tavolo della sala... comunque Nobu è una garanzia
Normally excellent but just off its usual best
Had the most amazing food with the Octopus Carpaccio especially worth a mention.
Good selection of cocktails and wine so didn't get a chance to have any Sake.
Extremely delicious food with outstanding service. Not a single dish was of poor quality. The only downside would have to be the price per portion size. I would happily spend a little more to be full when leaving, however the quality was stellar so still a must try!
I visited Nobu because my son whose 17th birthday it was, really wanted to eat there having seen some YouTubers there. I’m a firefighter based in Oxford and as you’ll appreciate don’t have the sort of money that I would imagine most of your clients have but agreed to it anyway. The meal was lovely, a lot more than my local restaurants but I do appreciate that I’m paying for a higher standard. The service was very good and we really enjoyed it. I was however a bit annoyed that having dressed up smartly ( your policy is Business Casual) there were people in there in t shirts and trainers. I’m happy with smart as it’s my go to option and my daughter too but my son is a trainers and t shirt kind of kid and was put out that he felt uncomfortable in what I’d bought him for the meal while people next to us looked like tramps. I would definitely recommend your restaurant but would probably advise people to ignore the dress code if they so wished. Thanks you anyway.
My wife is a Coeliac, so is gluten free and Nobu is the best restaurant we go to for the care and attention they give her. The staff are excellent. Many of the dishes can be adapted for my wife and the staff explain what she can eat and cannot, each time a dish arrives. It's always a pleasure to eat here.
Good food and good service but seriously over priced and the restaurant itself really isn’t anything special
My guests loved the food, service basically everything about however its very expensive.
Food are nice and wonderful sauce. Sake list are unique and in high price at the same time. Tables are quite small.
Slow service and bad memory... forgot our wine. But, good ”healing” with free wine and dessert :-)
The sushi and sashimi for the second time has been inedible
Food and service was excellent! Good experience! Just a comment about the tables .....Found them too close with guests bumping into each other.... or conversations on next table loud as tables were so close.
Service was not very friendly.
Food is extremely average. Other clientele are noisy and obnoxious and the overall design and feel is very cheap and basic. The food is overpriced. Would not eat here again - at £500 for 4 persons expect a lot more
Always have a consistently good time at this place. Food is always reliably great quality and good and attentive service from staff which is a huge thing for me. The baby spinach salad is simply divine and the sushi is some of the best in London if not the world. Always leave with a spring in my step!
restaurant of this name should have been more specious to begin with. the atmosphere is far from being something to tell about, a lot of name, no value. service was awful we got cold soup (a hot soup served cold) we returned the soup due to being cold then got the other dishes before the soup the waitress provided no support or advise on the menu and was generally un-cooperative. we finished by getting up at the middle of dinner and left. been travelling all over the UK in the last two weeks the only place I can say for sure will never come back.
As always top service and food and met all my requirement
Good ambience (although I did ask to have the table changed as the first seating was like a diner with bright lighting.)
Staff were friendly and knew the menu but the food itself was disappointing. Very expensive but really no better than a yo sushi of itsu.
Pleasant service if somewhat erratic as one dish was forgotten and we had to remind service twice. Table was very small and was clearly only meant for two (we were 3)
I've been to Nobu on numerous occasions however this time the service wasn't great... a bad night / understaffed, who knows but I was certainly disappointed.
The food was delicious, however I was surprised by how small our table was and how close it was to neighboring tables (we were at a two person table on the right side upstairs). Also, we did the Omakase menu and it happened twice that the next course arrived before we had finished the previous course. In my opinion, a restaurant of this caliber and price point should not let that happen.
My first time at the Berkeley Street venue and I bought my family to celebrate my brother's big birthday. We each got the tasting menu's/split of both, (7courses) - the food was outstanding! However, the service was incredibly pushy which ruined the experience & I wouldn't attend here again, especially for a special occasion. Firstly, we were encouraged to order extra food off the menu - I'd had the rock prawns before and knew that were delicious so gave in and said we'll get one - I was then told I needed two dishes as a min. I have NEVER been told to get extra food in additional to the tasting menu. Previously, in other venues I have been discouraged from this as the tasting menu should be enough,SURELY NOBU? We were then told to get Saki as an accompaniment -which was made out as part of the tasting menu. When I order another G&T I was told ‘get a cocktail instead’.. No I want a G&T.. Before the dessert came out - I asked if we could have a 10min break and was told no as they have another table coming..all the dishes seemed to be bought out within 5mins & we were constantly being circled waiting for us to empty the plate.I was also disappointed that only the frontdesk mentioned my brother's birthday.
I wouldn't recommend this venue - super rushed, extremely pushy to up-sell and astonished at being encouraged to order additional food - it absolutely wasn't needed. I've only had outstanding service in both the other Nobu venues so not sure what's going on here Mark?
Too noisy, we could not hear our words at the table. Even perfect food can not justify that. the atmosphere was completely ruined. They should re-think the interior and tables set up.
My daughters booked this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I enjoy coming to this restaurant. It never lets me down. The weather was awful but once I came in I was in a much better mood.
we ordered a variety of dishes. I now wish I had the black cod now as it is one of y favourite dishes.
The service was attentive but not rushed.
The atmosphere was just right.
Overall it didn’t let me down.
Very safe choice with great food - but is expensive and I'm sure some of the dishes (particularly the snow crab) are smaller than they used to be
I booked Nubo for a birthday, and feeling sad to say it did not live up to my exception. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, and the staff was wonderful. But the big let down was the food. We ordered the Omakase set, a 7 set course. Many of the dishes was lacking taste. One course we had a sushi set, the rice just crumbled the moment we touched them with my chopstick. I have to say none of the dishes where anything special and I've had better for a cheaper price tags. I would recommend anyone going to order individual dishes and not the Omakase set.
As always great service and food always have had my request met with
Excellent service great Food and Drinks
Perfect - as always! It was again beyond words! But if you ask for one it is DIVINE!!!
