This was the worst dining experience that my wife and I have had. We usually visit Umi, Chops, or Poor Calvin's for our special evenings out (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). We decided to give Nobu a try for my wife's birthday. When we arrived, there was a scent of marijuana coming from the outside seating, we decided to dismiss it as our imagination. We were seated and ordered three appetizers - the roasted baby corn honey truffle, tempura broccoli, and the tempura avocado. The corn was very good, however the sauce with the tempura vegetables was very thin and lacking in flavor. We then ordered our main entree's. It took about 10 minutes, and the waitress informed us that they were out of the lobster that my wife had ordered. I asked for clarification and to speak to a manager and the waitress said " That will not go good for you" I have never gotten that response from a server, usually they are accommodating and helpful. At that point we should have paid the bill and left however I did not want to ruin my wife's birthday, and we chose to stay with the hopes that things would be better as the meal continued. Unfortunately, it got worse instead of better. My entree - the black cod was brought to the table by itself, then 10 minutes later the scallops and shrimp my wife ordered showed up, 5 minutes after that the roasted cauliflower was sent to the table and when we were almost finished with the entrees' they brought the rice for both of the entrees'.
The food was luke warm and over cooked and served in a very poor manner. Then we ordered coffee and dessert. The coffee was cold, and the pistachio cake was the best thing we had all night. $280.00 for a poor dining experience, poor service and the manager did not even acknowledge our displeasure. We paid the bill and left a 15% tip. WILL NOT RETURN AND WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE TO DINE. UMI IS ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND THE EXPERIENCE AND FOOD THERE IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN NOBU. DO NOT ATTEND
