Great view, good food. Service could have been better
The overall restaurant was very nice, we got seated in the corner of the enclosed patio which was right next to a concrete column. My date had a wonderful view but I had concrete. The food was excellent and the service was great too. Very friendly and worth going back. They had several tables that would comfortably fit up to 6, so this would be a great small group destination.
Lovely atmosphere inside and impressive views. Pricey menu for no reason, nothing was spectacular and the wine menu was lacking variety.
I love Noble Rot! Great views, good food, excellent drinks, but what really makes this place is the exceptional customer service! Staff seem to really enjoy working here and want to make it a fun experience for their guests. Shout out to Blair who made this a special night with old friends!
Our out of town guests loved it!!
Food, table and the great sunset view.
We usually just go here for their excellent happy hour. The wines served are always very good and a good value. This was our first time here for dinner in many years and everyone enjoyed their meal. What impressed me was that not only was the entree delicious and exceeded our expectations and it was something you would never make at home.
I had heard of Noble Rot but had no idea it was such a cool place! Great ambiance and view! Excellent wine and food! Had the mushroom crusted sturgeon with grilled leeks, over marscapone polenta - rich and delicious. I definitely plan to go back!
Loved the view, the service, the food. I had the half cauliflower roasted with raisins and tangerines it was delicious!
Extremely loud dining experience. Window table provided a nice view of downtown but impossible to enjoy a reasonable conversation.
This was my third time visiting Noble Rot and every single time I'm here I'm always satisfied. Great food, great ambiance, and stellar service. This is our go to spot for bringing friends and family from out of town or any of our special occasions. One of my favorite spots in Portland!
We were in town visiting the city and just happened upon Noble Rot based on reviews that the location had a great view of downtown at night. What we found was a fantastic wine and food menu that we were very impressed with. If we lived in Portland we would visit as often as possible. Food was excellent, wine was great and service was perfect.
Noble Rot is our favorite "go to" restaurant in Portland. The menu is always interesting and the service is outstanding. Cocktails can be on the expensive side - we limit it to one.
The view was great, but the food was over cooked, under seasoned, and overpriced. We had much higher expectations and left somewhat disappointed.
Mostly disappointed in the quality of the food, the exception being the soup of the day. “Marinated” olives was a misnomer; flavorless and forgettable. The pasta of the day (fettuccine Bolognese) was undercooked. I think they used pork rather than beef for the meat sauce.
Recommended by a friend, did not disappoint! Took husband and friends here for husbands birthday and we had a blast. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was delicious.
While a little difficult to find we really enjoyed the charming and unique setting... We felt as though we had found a secret place within a busy city. The ambiance was warm and inviting and the service was excellent. The Happy Hour menu was great though we did partake in a little of both and we found the prices to be within the realm of reasonable. Can't wait to go back!
Second time we’ve eaten there. First was at the bar which was OK so we thought we should try again as this place has great reviews. We were disappointed again. The food was pretty blah and tasteless, even though the menu looks so good. The prices are way too high. I think we’ll be checking out some other places.
Great time overall. Seating a little tight. Great happy hour menu!
Consistently good as usual.
Service was terrible and the food was not the level I remember and prices over the top
Let me first say the ambiance, service and fresh garden items added to the menu are great. However, I had the Steak Frites and the meat smelled and tasted like it was turning bad. My friend who is a huge carnivore confirmed and said do NOT eat that! She had the lamb which was overcooked and our salad was blah and plain. Maybe it was just an off night I hope? It was busy though.... even the Creme Brûlée was a little runny this night. Server did take my steak frites off the bill.
I love Noble Rot! They have excellent food, great wines, and the service is outstanding. Of course, the wonderful views of Portland don’t hurt!
I took my 13 year old daughter for dinner. They gave us the perfect table for two with a view. They also accommodated my 13 year olds dietary needs with out any hesitation. Our server was great she made my daughter feel comfortable and didn't treat her like a child. Looking forward to bringing my husband there soon
The night could not have been better! Was our 10th anniversary and we were treated like kings.
Took my friend out to celebrate her birthday and met a couple other friends there as well. Only a couple things were not exactly as ordered, but it really wasn't worth fussing about (no dressing on the side, wrong beer, which they fixed). They do a great job at this place and the view is amazing!
Parking was very difficult to find. Noise level was off the scale---sound engineering needed. Great food and view.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience. All of our questions were answered and our server was absolutely amazing! Both our food and cocktails were made to perfection! We will definitely be coming back!
Exceeded all expectations! Even five of us couldn't try everything we wanted to taste. So we'll all be going back. Service notable for our group with staggered arrival times, various beverage and food preferences. Really can't wait to return for more.
Beautiful views and the pasta dish was excellent. We will definitely return. A gem.
Wedding proposal and it was perfect
Celebrated my wife's birthday with a party of 6 and had a great time! Everything went well. We ordered the clams, the Beet Wellington, the Cauliflower, and a few other items. The food was very good although the clams were a bit different. Normally, we really like them but we all thought they were okay - most likely just our taste preferences when it comes to how they are prepared. The service was very good but we were interrupted often in the beginning to see if we were ready to order, had we decided on anything, etc. I waited tables for years and understand being attentive but when there is a party of six, things are going to take time. 2 people in our party were 15 minutes late so maybe that had something to do with it. They were great with our son and made him buttered pasta which he said was off the scale good!!! thank you noble rot! we'll be back!
Went here for my husbands birthday and loved it. The food was delicious, the staff were so courteous and the atmosphere was romantic. Will definitely go back
Delicious and creative plates. A nice balance of casual and classy ambiance. Someone who grows ingredients on their roof gets a thumbs up from me. I would have preferred the noise level to be a notch lower.
This was our second time to Noble Rot. Service was very good... timely, knowledgeable and friendly. The pasta dish was very good but my wife's meal of steak and veg was extremely salty and couldn't eat all of it. We mentioned it to the staff. They were apologetic and comp'd desert. We will try it again.
Noble Rot is my favorite place to dine before going to see a show at Imago Theater or Bossanova Ballroom. There were 4 in our party and we all loved our meal. When reserving on Open Table I asked for a window table with a view and they obliged, and we had a spectacular view of the city. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. It remains my favorite dining establishment in the neighborhood.
We had a great dinner! My husband had the special “rabbit”. He said it was decadent.
Noble Rot is one of our solid go-tos, especially when going out with friends. The food is artful, beautiful, inventive, fresh and seasonal -- their rooftop garden is a HUGE plus. The wine list is very impressive, with fun wine flights (the BEST Pinot Noir flight in town). The view is amazing, and the servers are very knowledgable, friendly and unpretentious. The price point is also reasonable. It feels very Portland, for anti-snobby foodies.
Fantastic Service!! The ambiance was great and the food was awesome. We brought a special bottle of wine to share with friends and felt very comfortable. I am vegetarian and the choices were great. I had the "Beet Wellington" and it had amazing layers of flavor. We cannot wait to go back. Also a great view.
Bland onion tart and the presentation was too. The pasta was unbalanced and under cooked. The pear dessert had crunchy unripe fruit. Such a beautiful place. Great service. But disappointing food.
