About Noble Rot
Noble Rot is an ecosystem. A glacial well hydrates the building and the 3000 sq foot garden on the roof. The vegetables grown there supply the restaurant. For fifteen years, The Rot has educated, entertained and fed this city. Local, national and international media have consistently praised our style. Noble Rot’s situation is unique and our view is extraordinary.

Noble Rot Ratings and Reviews
The food was GREAT - some of the ingredients are grown on-site.
My Wife enjoyed the Wine Flight.
The complexity of flavors was beyond my expectations.
We enjoyed every culinary aspect of our visit - the view was wonderful - a great experience. It was the outstanding service (Harmony) who elevated this experience to a marvelous evening.
Had been a long while since I ate a meal here, as the last few times I've had drinks, happy hour food, or left because of too long a wait. Monday night, not at all crowded, had a perfect booth with a great view, and the meal hit on all cylinders! Wife and I shared the Beet Wellington as an appetizer and it exploded with flavors. Same with her entree of Polenta stuffed Pepper. My fresh pasta dish was the best I've had--topped with Carlton Farms pork shoulder. Too full for dessert. Will be back soon.
The service was excellent and very attentive. The atmosphere is wonderful with a city view. The food was creative and very tasty! I had the Pork chops which were wonderful, and my wife went with the Polenta Stuffed Anaheim Chilie. Both dishes were excellent. We had 2 wine flights, all of which were very good! Lastly, the dessert... yum! The Peanut Butter and Jelly was an unexpected treat.. must try it!
My fiancé and I came here for our 3 year anniversary, and the hostess remembered me mentioning that in my reservation and they made sure to wish us a happy anniversary as soon as we came in. The service was efficient, the food was delicious, and our waitress gave us space when we were having a serious conversation. I can't recommend this place enough! We did have a seat in the corner by the window, which was a great view but the echo from other tables made it a little difficult to hear. But still a great evening and I can't wait to come back!
We had a 5:30pm reservation for 3 on a Saturday and we arrived on time. We were seated immediately. After informing our server that we had 7:30pm theater tickets, we were told no problem. We had a long wait for every course and by the time dessert was finally delivered we were eating standing with our coats on. We made it to the theater as the doors were about to close. Way too much stress for my 87 year old MIL! Noble Rot has been one of my favorite restaurants and I picked it for my birthday celebration because the food is always amazing. That still was the case, but the slow service pretty much ruined the mood.
Had an absolutely wonderful dinner with a group of 6. Our waiter was top-notch. He new everything about the menu, wine, etc. He was very help in making suggestions for dinner and drinks and overall, just treated us like we were his only table--though we most certainly were not. Awesome view and the booths are super comfy and cozy. Highly recommend to all!
I wasn't impressed at all with the gentleman seating people. Food was ok but definitely high priced for what you got. Ordered wine, when arrived was a small glass approximately 1/3 full. Really?? Had made reservations in advance, but had to threaten to leave when seated at one of the only tables with no view!!! Really?? Then, guy seating apparently doesn't like his table decisions questioned. We were at another place earlier which was really fun with great/ friendly staff to come here. I had company from out of town so having them experience Portland's excellent culinary world. The Noble For was a let down.
This is our second visit and I must say, not nearly as good as the first....food was excellent, but the service, not so much!
The female server did not introduce herself, seemed distracted and we had to ask what the soup and pasta specials were...was not friendly and we noticed another server that was interacting with his customers and all were having a good time!
All at our table commented on the lack of service....enjoyed the food and will return and hopefully get another server
We continually enjoy the farm to table scene in Portland; this was our first time to Noble Rot-- and it was delightful. Though it is edging into fall, the balcony seating was still open and offered a beautiful view onto downtown Portland. It was a bit strange to have to take an elevator before reaching the restaurant but it was well worth it when we walked into the bar. Food was delicious and items grown on their own rooftop bar were clearly noted on the menu. The polenta stuffed chilis were a great vegetarian option that didn't feel at all like it was substituting for something. Highly recommend.
My friend and I had lovely meal at Noble Rot this weekend. I’ve been coming here for years, and tonight was the most impressed I’ve been with the food, service and ambiance. Our food was delicious, our server was very attentive, and the view is one of the best in Portland. I can’t wait to go back!
My husband and I dined here on our 2nd wedding anniversary - a tradition that kicked off when we celebrated our first dating anniversary revisiting the destination of one of very our first dates several years ago - sneaking in the last patio day on one of Portland's best 'patios'. (It's now our thing - they can't ever close!) The weather cooperated with us, again, as we were able to enjoy the amazing view from the inside/patio area, with windows wide open. We were greeted warmly by all of the staff, who had been alerted of our special occasion. We also received a complimentary toast of bubbles to celebrate. Now that we're an old married people, we had our 1 year-old with us, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to her. We only had time for Happy Hour this year, but couldn't leave without a celebratory PBnJ - a must if anyone hasn't tried it!
