On a Monday night we were seeking a special place for my parents’ last night visiting Portland. After fleeing a Tusk reservations because it was insanely loud, a quick search led us to Noble Rot. The room, ambiance, and attentive staff delighted all of us. Cocktails were a bullseye, and of course wine selections are a feature here.
Apps were very solid: a wild mushroom appetizer was perfect, and the octopus was well grilled and flavored. (One misstep: the onion rings were too greasy and batter lacked flavor)
Mains were super especially the scallops.
Staff were super friendly and attentive.
Great spot - we’ll return soon.
My partner surprised proposed to me at dinner on Wednesday with her parents. We received a clapping ovation from the staff and patrons when I said yes! What a memorable night!
The people were super nice and food was excellent .
Great atmosphere with a wonderful view and delicious food and drink. Highly recommend for a fancier night out.
Been here a few times. Food is delicious and the view of the city is great. Overall awesome experience.
The ambiance of the dining room was lovely with city views. The food was inventive and delicious
The food at Noble Rot has always been consistently amazing, so that's why we chose this venue to celebrate my son's sweet 16th birthday. And I thought that the rooftop ambiance would be such a beautiful backdrop for celebration. However, it was like any other dinner...there was no significance that set this venue a part from any other to celebrate such a huge milestone. We'll have to give the next celebration's venue more thought...but we always appreciate the server's hard work and attention. Thank you!
Had a fabulous experience in august, but the food was so unbelievably bad last night that we asked if they had a new chef. Yes, the server said. What a pity. The food was pure glop and slop. We will not go back. Apparently other customers feel the same way. The restaurant was half empty on a Friday night. Avoid like the plague.
Great meal before Cher Concert! Sat near window, attentive service sensitive to our time boundary, and very good flights of wines so we could pick one we wanted with food, which was attractive, tasty and appropriate portion.
Wonderful atmosphere, friendly service. Went with my girlfriends and we had a blast.
Fantastic seasonal fare, creative cocktails, and impressive wine list. Our server worked with our group's dietary restrictions to create a wonderful meal.
A stop at Noble Rot is an absolute must if you are visiting the Portland area.
They made a cake for my boyfriend for his birthday which was a nice touch as we’re vacationing from out of town. The writing on the cake wasn’t the greatest, but the flavors, dinner and service made up for it.
Great food, great ambiance, and great view! Would absolutely go back and recommend.
Cauliflower burnt. Pork shoulder was good. Food was so so for me.
Great food and service. Atmosphere pleasing and a quieter dining than most places.
Incredible food, wine, view and service. LOVED IT!
I had an excellent meal there this past Thursday evening. I am mostly vegetarian and every appetizer on the menu is vegetarian friendly. We started with their wild mushroom dish with a poached egg on top which was fantastic and very flavorful. A great fall dish. My girlfriend had the special pasta dish which was excellent and I had their vegetarian entrée which was chickpeas three ways along with heirloom beets and carrots. It was very flavorful. The most memorable wines were the Austrian dry Riesling and local Nebbiolo. I can’t wait to go back again to try some other menu options. Josh the bartender is top-notch and very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines.
Excellent service and great menu
The ambiance and food are fabulous. This is one of our "special occasion" places and we will return. It does get noisy, quite noisy, so we all had sore throats from talking with each other. And, the tab was significant. But, we knew what we were getting and the evening was well worth it for our special occasion.
Truly a wonderful dining experience, highly recommend.
Didn’t live up to the hype and definitely would not recommend. The lamb was dry and not worth half The price they are asking for
The service was amazing the food was awesome! We had 4 people and everyone was very impressed with their dish! The one thing I would change if I could is more room at the table we were seated in a very small table in a very crowded corner it was beautiful but noisy and squished.
Wonderful food and superb wine. Best albarino I've ever had...by the glass! Only caveat is the high noise level...make sure you're sitting next to the person you most want to talk to.
From the moment our party walked 7:45 pm in we felt like the restaurant just want to get us out so they could close up. Food was average at best except for the onion rings that were fantastic. Waiter had no personality and struggled to explain anything on the menu.
Thank you again for the wonderful time! This is our go to birthday spot!
Overall it's a great restaurant, but I think we may have caught them on a bad night. We had a reservation for 7pm and didn't get seated until almost 730. Once seated, it took at least ten minutes before anyone stopped by. However, the food and vibe was exceptional.
Our go to spot for birthdays and anniversaries! Always great food, wonderful service and cool low light atmosphere
Noble Rot's location on the fourth (top) floor of a small building in the Burnside area affords diners some nice panoramic views of the city. The noise level is pretty high but the ambience is inviting and pleasant. The food is excellent and the service attentive without being unctuous. A lovely dining experience.
Our waiter David was terrific, so attentive!
Horrible table side service by a grumpy waitress, and the food arrived cold to medium and temperature and a plate was freezing cold. Obviously they did not bother wanting to play or thinking it would be a good idea to serve meat warm or hot rather than cold and at room temperature
While both the food and service were excellent, the cocktails were light on alcohol.
Service was great. Had the pasta special. It was very nice. Best olive bowl appetizer ever! Abundant and flavorful.
I love this place. Food is fantastic and the view is amazing.
Select menu, nice view, attentive staff. We thought the lamb t-bones were a little salty for our taste, but they happily worked with us to get something else.
We were there for my mother’s birthday. Originally seated in the far back of the restaurant, which was very load. We asked to move and were then near the bar which was a pleasant ambiance. Our server was okay. The hostess was super sweet and accommodating. Food was tasty but portions were pretty small.
We have taken many friends to Noble Rot and each time is a pleasure and this time reaffirmed my respect for their food, service, and beverages. The fish, burgers, and mushroom appetizer were amazing, we ordered another mushroom appetizer because it was so good. There salads are also great. In clear weather the view of the city is very nice but it is equally cozy in cooler or rainy weather with focus on nice decor.
The food and service were excellent as always. Fun list of cocktails even on happy hour. Beautiful night so outside was gorgeous as were the views.
We come to Noble Rot often for the view and drinks. The food was fantastic and the ambiance is always great.
Thoughtful service, delicious meal. The person-in-charge who brought us extra candles so we could read our menus, later followed us out and down the street, bringing us the hat we'd left behind!
