Great birthday dinner for my niece. Everything we ordered were tasty. Josh, our server, was very friendly.
Wonderful view of the Portland skyline. We were able to enjoy the sunset during our dinner experience. The dining area is small and intimate, and after the sun sets, you dine with dim lighting and candlelight. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday. Our table ordered the salmon entree, risotto, the pasta of the day, and the pork entree- all tasted great. Our table shared the peanut butter dessert, sponge cake, and the chocolate brownie that our server paired with a few samples of their dessert wines (on the house). Thank you for a wonderful night.
Always lovely and host was very helpful as I sent my brother and his wife and then called to pay their tab!
We had an out of town guest and we wanted a place she had not been to before The food was excellent and the soup was something out of this world The whole dinner was perfect
The view was beautiful. The food and service were exceptional! Definitely should try it.
My apologies for not remembering her name but our server was great. Very personable, knowledgeable, was there when we needed her but never felt like she was hovering.
Did not plan to have dinner here but were close by and decided to see if they had room for an early dinner. Although our table did not have the advertised view and people arriving after us got the “good tables” I’m guessing they had previous reservations. Staff was extremely friendly and both my wife’s lamb with sausage stuffing and my short rib with polenta were excellent. Well prepared and served piping hot made both dishes very enjoyable. We were both trying to be good so avoided dessert so can’t comment. Best of all was the extensive wine list. I was expecting mostly Oregon wines but the list was from all regions. We found an excellent Australian Shiraz that was outstanding especially considering the low cost. At first I was afraid to order it due to low cost but waitress assured us it would be a good bottle or not on their menu. It was a bargain and made a very enjoyable dinner at a reasonable cost. Great job to all at Noble Rot!
One of my favorite places, great spot for dates, and as always the service was superb!
I planned this Saturday evening dinner as a birthday party for my sister. From the moment we walked in the door, as busy as they were, we felt like royalty the whole time. Dinner was excellent! Inventive and playful! Great for family style sharing to taste all of the delicious options! Ended dinner with candles in a very tasteful dessert! I cannot wait to return for a rooftop dinner at sunset this summer!
It was ok. Wasn’t particularly amazing in any way. Kinda noisy. Great view though.
Great service and the atrium at sundown is awesome!
Noble Rot is a near and dear date night spot for us. We even got engaged there! The staff is amazing. Always warm and friendly with great food and service! Next year I will get on the ball and make my V day reservations early!
Great spot, good view, fantastic food and a fun atmosphere.
our waitress was very kind and helpful in choosing our cocktails and her attentiveness was on point. the first three courses we had were great (mac and cheese, noble salad, and soup of the day) however the two mains we ordered were not. the panisse was ok (a bit over salted) and the gnocchi was actually terrible (chalky bread clumps) I ended up taking one bite and throwing it directly into the trash)
Tonight for us was a 2/5.
Thank you for an intimate and memorable experience
Lovely atmosphere, great food, service and view. The food was delicious. Will definitely be back.
It was more like dining in a bar that serves food than in a restaurant, per se. Dimly lit, small table, hard, uncomfortable seating and music that was too loud for conversations. The menu is rather pretentious and the prices are too high.
Fantastic service and fabulous food. Dined here for the first time with friends and had a wonderful evening. The beet and endive salad was simple and elegant and the red wine braised short ribs melted in your mouth. Topped off with a perfectly crusted creme brulee it was a meal that makes you want to come back again and again.
Service was awesome, food was great. We will definitely be back.
Lovely atmosphere mediocre food.
Excellent for my husbands 50th!
Noble Rot is always a great destination. The outstanding view from the top-floor dining room complements the excellent menu and friendly, attentive service. Suitable for a casual dinner out or a romantic evening, Noble Rot never disappoints.
Birthday treat
A big disappointment compared to our last visit a few years ago which was fantastic. My wife had $36 scallops, and they were really overcooked - very rubbery. I ordered a burger cooked to medium, and it was medium well - very dry. The server was fine, but not friendly or charismatic and had very little to say about our flight of wines that we tasted from. The house red was really quite bad, too. There was a guest on his laptop the whole time we were there, which seems unacceptable for a Saturday night dinner scene, especially because he was seated next to the window, so the glare detracted from the views of downtown. Noble Rot is in a neighborhood that we frequent often, but we will not be going back any more.
I was disappointed with the entree selections. There was very little for a vegetarian to choose from. One pasta dish...that was it. Also, we were disappointed that the entree only came with one other food item (scallops with potato - no vegetable, beef ribs with polenta - no vegetable, lamb - bean and leek "salad"). Even though we also shared an appetizer, my son and husband came home hungry...
Great food, great service. Nice food combinations. Will definitely return.
I took a friend there last night for dinner. We enjoyed everything about the place the staff were amazing and the food very satisfying.
Lovely view table. Excellent service our out of town guests enjoyed the upbeat ambiance.
Took my husband for his birthday. Came highly recommended by some Portland foody friends of ours. Everything we had was wonderful.
Okay so everything was seriously so great. I also love the way the restaurant is decorated! I can’t wait to experience it in nicer weather (:
Noble Rot has always been a favorite, but this last visit was the most disappointing.
Selections were more limited, and our server was repeatedly unable to accommodate my dinner guest's requests (his first time at NR).
Hopefully just a fluke. Usually love this place.
My sisters and I had a wonderful time at Noble Rot. The food was delicious! The host was very accommodating and put us in a back corner where it would be quieter and more private.
We had a wonderful experience at Noble Rot. Our server David was outstanding and the food was delicious. The view is awesome as well. We will be back!
Great location, amazing view from the garden room, great food and drinks. Happy Hour is an awesome value!
Overall, we had a nice meal at Noble Rot. The menu is interesting and most dishes we ordered were delicious; the roasted harissa vegetables were not as good as everything else. My one disappointment was that although the dining room had many open tables, we were seated right next to a group of 20 - making it very hard to hear among our smaller group of four.
What a cute restaurant with a nice city view and fireplace. The service and wine was amazing but the food not so much. Unsure if it was just an off night or not but for $35 a plate I expected better...way better. I was completely underwhelmed with the food. Not only was it luke warm, some of the potato were under cooked and the meal lacked flavor.
The view was the best part of the experience.
Unfortunately, the service felt like we were a huge bother. The server clearly was not interested in our questions and seemed to be doing the bare minimum.
The food was just okay. Considering thisbolace had such high reviews I was hoping for some "wow" dishes. But that never came.
We used to come here often and I don’t know what happens in the last 6-12 months. ): Extremely loud, large group should have been put in the party area. Waited 30 minutes to order after we decided to stay but move to a quieter area. Then order was wrong and we waited again for order desserts. Maybe it’s just a summer place?! );
On a Monday night we were seeking a special place for my parents’ last night visiting Portland. After fleeing a Tusk reservations because it was insanely loud, a quick search led us to Noble Rot. The room, ambiance, and attentive staff delighted all of us. Cocktails were a bullseye, and of course wine selections are a feature here.
Apps were very solid: a wild mushroom appetizer was perfect, and the octopus was well grilled and flavored. (One misstep: the onion rings were too greasy and batter lacked flavor)
Mains were super especially the scallops.
Staff were super friendly and attentive.
Great spot - we’ll return soon.
My partner surprised proposed to me at dinner on Wednesday with her parents. We received a clapping ovation from the staff and patrons when I said yes! What a memorable night!
