Very. Pretty scener.y. Nice food. Great service.
Upbeat place and friendly staff
Food menu was very creative, service was fast and excellent, view terrific and the light jazz, acoustic live guitar was very nice. I was a little turned off by the initial entrance into the restaurant but I think that's just me. You walk into a bar area that is designed for the "younger crowd" . We eat early so it was kind of empty. But other than that I hope this restaurant fares better than others in this town. It has great bones but needs an active crowd to make it prosperous.
Based on prior reviews, was expecting/hoping to have a great experience. Came up far short. Service was poor. Out of many items on the menu. And food quality was so-so.
This place is under new management and it is terrible. Our waitress was the saving grace of our entire experience. She was friendly and I can't blame any of our experience on her, aside from nothing being taken off our bill which they should have been. Our lobster rolls were rubbery, the kitchen took FOREVER, they didn't even have a drink list. The people behind us were having a similar experience and we all chatted about it for a while. The owner lives upstairs and wouldn't come down to apologize or to make anything right. In addition the DJ started playing extremely loud and it turned into almost a club. I loved sitting on the deck but I wouldn't go back...EVER.
Decided on this place based upon reviews and the menu. When we got there and were taken to our seats on the back deck. The server was pleasant and very attentive. After our guests arrived, we started talking and then the music - a jazz band - started playing. The music was very loud and made it hard to have a conversation.
We ordered the fried calamari appetizer to share and some wine and beer. Our guests ordered the hamburger, PEI Mussels with chicken sausage, Ahi Tuna, and the fish tacos. Everyone enjoyed their dishes a great deal except that the PEI dish could have had more mussels and sausage.
Unfortunately, there was no coffee for after dinner as two people in our party wanted to have a cup.
Overall I would go back but would check the music schedule before making a reservation.
Food is excellent and Tori is excellent- she always makes it a great dining experience!
Food was very greasy and not up to par for the price with other restaurants. Need to improve on food preparation and quality to keep customers coming. Ambience and water view was outstanding.
Great service. Excellent food. Lovely views of the water.
Really enjoyed our meal! Great view and creative menu options. We will be back
Noble has a nice deck overlooking Thames River
Noble is a wonderful addition to New London. Fabulous fish dishes, great and inventive cocktails, nice wine selections, inviting ambiance. We had reservations and sat outside on the balcony. Terrific! Our waitress was great.
WE were told this was farm to table and food is made to order. It was an accessible amount of time for the entrees, ran out of only vegetarian option, portions were very small for price. View was good, train went by, but would not return based on quality and price of food.
Very hit and miss location based on our experience. I am not sure that inconsistency will allow for long-term success. We sat at 7 PM in a beautiful spot over-looking the Thames. Had attentive service, food was timed well and both of us enjoyed our dishes and unique cocktails that I would highly recommend you try. Very big fans of the farm/sea to table approach and changing menu - would love for them to be succesful.
On the flip-side, a couple sat down next to us within 5 minutes of us being seated and ordered at roughly the same time. When we left at 8:30 their entrees had yet to be served. After far too long a period to begin with, excuses were finally provided but I did not see what I would consider to be the type of customer service I'd expect for that situation. So two tables, seated at the same time, right next to each other with polar opposite experiences. Doesn't bode well in my opinion for long term success and I'd caution anybody considering going there based on what I witnessed.
Noble is a nice little place in New London with a great deck overlooking the Thames River. You can tell a lot of love goes into the dishes they prepare with fresh ingredients and a complimentary wine selection. My wife had housemade spaetzle with lobster and a walnut pesto sauce. I had the housemade gnocchi with bolognese sauce. Both dishes were excellent.
Very cool restaurant with views of the sound in New London. Great cocktail menu.
It was great to sit outside and watch the parade of trains and ferries. the food was delicious and creative. Kudos to the chef!
The drinks were great with an amazing presentation. I had the muscles, the portion was large and there was a lot of flavor. The fish and chips was crispy and fresh. The grilled zucchini was great too. The kitchen was slow, although the waitress warned us, I think it could be sped up a bit.
Floor is quite uneven and very treacherous.
Deck was absolutely lovely.
This was an excellent seafood restaurant with a water view. Yummy lobster rolls and craft cocktails made my day! Service was a little confused and slow.
The service was awesome (Tori was our waitress)- very knowledgeable, friendly, and had a command of her craft. The drinks were delicious, and the food was perfectly portioned with fantastic pairings/flavor. Definitely make a reservation, as this place NEEDS to be visited. Again- delicious.
The food was excellent. The atmosphere is a little odd, it's just a wide open space. We sat on the deck which was great.
Great place with nice view, excellent drinks
We had a great experience! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Great selection of cocktails and the food was very good, especially the charcuterie board.
Graduation luncheon for 8 people. 1 server and 1 bartender for the whole restaurant (which granted is small) who were both lovely but the service was very, very slow. Food was good and came out hot but I think the kitchen needs help.
Interesting menu with fresh ingredients prepared well. Only negatives were the rather high and unexpected charge for bread $8 for a table of 3 and that there isn’t an Italian red wine offered. Will definitely be back.
The lobster rolls both hot and cold were piled high with meat but there was no butter or mayo so the lobster was drier than it should have been. Fries were delicious and plentiful.
Wow, first time at this hidden gem in downtown New London. Excellent appetizer, muscles cooked to perfection in chefs special sauce. Dinners were great. Chefs touch with everything you order. You won’t be disappointed.
We were really looking forward to dining here based upon the reviews we read. There were some high points like the starters: hand cut truffle fries were fantastic and the charcuterie plate was great. But entrees were a disappointment. The chicken was overcooked - very dry - and didn't have much flavor. It was edible but not good. But the biggest offender was the grilled octopus. My husband loves grilled octopus and it's one of his go to meals when he sees it on a menu...and he's always a member of the clean plate club so I was shocked when I saw a big piece of octopus left on his plate. This octopus was so overcooked he couldn't even cut the piece with a knife. When this was brought up to the server, she went back to talk to the chef who said basically (my interpretation) we don't know what we're talking about, it wasn't over grilled, that octopus is when it's grilled has a hard, charred exterior. I do appreciate that it was later removed from the bill once the server understood how tough it really was.
Great location with a nice deck on the back with water views. If I went again I would get appetizers and drinks (they had a nice selection of wines and specialty cocktails) but probably wouldn't order entrees.
Friendly attentive wait staff
Superb!! Great Service and food!! We will go back. Thanks Tori.
Only three other people in the restaurant, and yet had to wait 35 minutes for food to arrive. We were just getting out of seats to leave; so we gave it a try... Totally disappointing! Definitely would not recommend this restaurant at all!!
Thank you for your feed back - we hope you do give us another try and see what all of the other positive reviewers are talking about!
The bartender is an artist, the chef is amazing, I love it!
Thank you for your support- we love reading the reviews all of our guests leave us!
The attention to detail, both in the food and unique drinks as well as the decor and attentiveness of the waitnata
Thank you for taking the time and reviewing us- we appreciate all of the feedback!
Our second time eating here, we’ve loved both. The craft cocktails are fantastic, and the food is really spectacular. The first time we went I had the gnocchi and my wife had the lobster roll. This time I had the rabbit and my wife had the octopus - both times we had the edamame.
The first time we went we had the brussels, ridiculously good. The prices are very low for the quality of food you get, we highly recommend Noble - and the waitstaff and bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable about their craft!
Thank you Brett for the continued positive reviews you leave us- it is always a pleasure serving you and your guests!
Friendly staff, very good service but limited menu.
Thank you for your feedback- we are a growing restaurant and trying to incorporate new food ideas!
Fourth time I've eaten her in two weeks--original, well-prepared food for a reasonable price made by people who care. Amazing cocktails by Kimmie.
Thank you Michael for your kind words- we always love seeing familiar faces!
What a great find. In a dying town, at least one restaurant is engaged in life. Excellent food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere that's probably terrific in the summer, when the deck overlooking the water is open. New London doesn't offer a lot of choices, but this restaurant is a winner.
Thank you so for taking the time to review your experience with us at noble- we really appreciate it!
We live in New London and were aware that the restaurant was open, so Saturday afternoon we were out for a walk and my wife suggested we stop in for a drink. We met Kim, one of the owners, and had a wonderful conversation about the menus and the ethos behind NOBLE. Before we had finished our drinks we made a reservation for that evening.
We started with a charcuterie board that included some interesting cheeses, meats and delicious spreads and with side dish of the house sourdough bread. For entrees, I enjoyed a delicious gnocchi entree and Elisa was equally satisfied and impressed with the octopus.
The service was excellent and the ambiance was relaxing and inviting.
We're determined to be regulars, and equally determined to spread the word far and wide, Noble restaurant is the happiest addition to the New London food scene in a long time!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us online- we appreciate all the help we can get!
Excellent. A bit of nyc food culture in new london!
Don't pass this restaurant by if you can help it! Fantastic food and staff. But do read on for some details.
Although it has been open a few short weeks as a re-branded Azure, and it is trying to build its clientele, menu and drinks definition and its particular niche in the local area, it is a solid winner. Let's take the food first for the foodies among us. Don't be fooled by the relatively compact menu. There really is something in there for everyone. Subtlety abounds as different flavors are balanced perfectly by the chef. Its not just the salt and sugar based sauces as is normal in most American restaurants today. If there is a hint of honey or lavender in the dish, then you can recognize them as undertones or accents, but never overpowering.
Taking some example that we tried - Mussels were unbelievably fresh but didn't taste of a harbor, delicately cooked in a sauce that had chicken and fennel sausages in it, with a touch of heat. Fabulous. Brussels sprouts, very slow roasted, allowing the flavors to explode, and with just a splash of maple somewhere there. Octopus, that I have never had before, that defied description. So good - try it. Finally a Shiitake Risotto where mushrooms and Romano cheese paired well, giving it the comfort food nature of mac 'n cheese (not the taste obviously)with some perfectly cooked risotto, (just a hint of al-dente with the rice).
The cocktails were sublime and Savannah and Kim (our two hosts that night) continued to surprise us with some great mixes. By the way all of the basic components they use are home made, so for example they were reducing and infusing a sugar/honey concoction with fresh rosemary on the bar, that would be used later for drinks. Everyone was unbelievably friendly and passionate about what they do. It really can make the difference between a good evening and a great evening.
So in summary if you are looking for just a quick bite, a romantic evening, or just somewhere to hang out, try Noble.
