Service was warm and friendly and the food delicious. I had clam chowder that was fabulous and a fresh crispy wedge salad with smoked bacon and blue cheese so yummy. My husband had the burger which was moist and flavorful. Definitely recommend.
The food was great however, the music really detracted from the lovely room.
Noble presents a bit of an upgrade from the previous owners. Environs are the same, food has taken on a new fresh look and feel with perfect portions of beautifully prepared and presented foods. Did I say fresh? Give it a go--great for date night, quiet girl chat or end of the day wind down...
Liked the restaurant. The waitress was very prompt and polite. Appreciated the Host offering any seating location in the restaurant.
Attentive service, creative presentation of entree and dessert, upscale pub atmosphere.
My husband and I were there on 8/24 before going to msmt. We loved it, we will be back with friends.
We had dinner and then headed to the MSMT for The Wizard of Oz.
Nice dinner before seeing Wizard of Oz with friends. Our burgers and lobster roll were delicious and the fries were to die for!
Vacation and very first time in Maine
We went for brunch before the MSMT 02:00 show. The weather was lovely so we chose to eat outside, we were told there would be music. That also used lovely until the young man started to play, VERY LOUD for a small space, we couldn’t hear each other.
The waitress was polite but clueless, the drink order was for a prosseco, chardonnay, Cabernet and a Bloody Mary. 20 min later she brought an unopened bottle of Prosecco 2 Chardonnay ‘s and the bloody mary
Delicious food for everyone in our party. The Limoncello cake was superb and a divine end to the meal.
This place is over priced for the portions served. They honestly charge $4 for a few bits of bread and butter! The food was fine, service slower than I’d expect- it wasn’t super busy but our server seemed occupied elsewhere and would disappear for awhile. We won’t be back any time soon.
Food is great. well prepared. cooked perfect. creative tastes. small portions for price. service lacked. waitstaff was not as attentive as one expects at this price point. we were forgotten at onepoint with one appetizer order snd took to the end of our meal to be told it was unavailable.
Early dinner dining, already out of food choices. Slow service. Food ok.
We usually stop here for lunch before we go to the Summer Theater in Brunswick which is just across the street which makes this a very handy location for our 2:00 afternoon seating. But in spite of it being so handy for us, parking etc. I think that we are going to try somewhere else. They have been offering a $19.00 "Special" for theater goers which includes 3 courses, the entree, a side and dessert. The entree is usually a sandwich a hamburger or pork tacos, the sides are fries, cole slaw or a garden salad and the dessert is always a slice of Lemoncello cake with blueberry topping which is also always the best thing about this lunch. I have tried everything on the menu, nothing is really outstanding. I guess I expect the fries to come with the hamburger. I had the Pork Tacos this last time and the pork was very dry, no sauce, just some Cole slaw inside and some "Mission" type tortillas that had previously been frozen which then cause them to fall apart when you heat them, then try pick them up! I ordered some fries for the side and they were all the little end pieces and not even hot! Then there was the service, the young man who waited on us was the same who waited on us last month and he was just as distracted as he was then, we had to ask him for water, ketchup, dessert and the bill. Later in the powder room I heard that two tables away he had messed up every order for their party of 6.....pretty hard to do! I would have given this place a 2 but my husband loves their Rueben sandwich.
We visited the Noble Kitchen for the first time for dinner before going to a play at Bowdoin College across the street. We had a very good experience. In spite of it being her first night on the job, our server was friendly and attentive as she cheerfully and correctly addressed a couple of minor issues in our setup. We had a pair of salads, a pair of starters, wine, and a dessert, as we were looking for something quick and light. The salads and starters exceeded our expectations and were all a cut above the ordinary. Even the dessert was a new(to us) rendition of an old favorite, and it was excellent. We'll definitely go back, and we'll recommend Noble Kitchen & Bar to others.
We do a Friday night dinner. Every Friday……
We used to have this place on rotation years ago. But we dropped it from the list because the service and food had gone down hill from when it first opened years ago.
We recently found out it was revamped. New management and Chief.
We decided to give it a try this Friday.
What a mistake.
We are set super fast. Place was not that busy. Only 1/2 tables were set.
First we ordered drinks and a few Apps.
We received our Apps before getting our drinks. When then finished said apps and still never received drinks.
Waitress was missing no where to be seen since dropping apps.
The Calamari was ok not great very very small dish compared to price you pay. No where near enough to share.
Bread was ok and Olives were basically dumped out of a jar and warmed up.
We finally gave up on drinks. Yes we still don’t have drinks. We called for management.
She then instead of taking ownership of the situation she blames it in Corporate
She says corporate is making them have to many tables to serve.
I argue with her saying 1/2 her tables aren’t even set how can she use that as excuse. Then we bring up the calamari and how small and tasteless it was compared to Royal Rivers.
She then says she can’t compete with Royal River.
We again tell her. If your going to price your items the same as mid-higher end places she has to compete in everything else.
It’s sad we really used to love this location as it’s so close to our house. And to watch it just sink and go down hill like this, so sad.
Needless to say we will not be going back.
It was not quite as we anticipated as photos we had seen showed linen tablecloths and a classier decor. The noise level near the speakers was very high and we had to move once to be able to have a conversation. But the music chosen was proper for the customers. Rebecca was a jewell and the service was excellent. We shared a charcuterie platter (really more of an antipasto) and it was excellent and generous. I had the Fish and Chips which was very well prepared and the best I have had in a long time.. I'm from Gloucester and was in the fishing business so I know fish.. Angela had the clam chowder which was full of whole clams and excellent. Altogether a good light dining experience and we shall return. Good wines. Bringing back the tablecloths in the inside dining area might be a bit expensive but would make a better first impression.
Pre Theatre, ordered from the 3 course $19 Menu. Good selections, had tacos, coleslaw and favorite Lemon cello/blueberries for desert.. Wait staff, mindful of our schedule, were attentive, timely and efficient.
Waited over 45 minutes for food (which did not come) so we left for a theater reservation after telling the manager why we were leaving.
Our server Rebecca was knowledgeable and professional. The new decor is amazing and the Chef is killing it with the new menu. I highly recommend the warm olives, charcuterie plate, and Burrata. For entree’s the fish and chips were amazing. The bouillabaisse is terrific and can’t miss. If you haven’t tried the new Noble Kitchen put it on your list.
This place is getting better each time I dine here which is a nice trend indeed.
The Brunswick Hotel and restaurant are located in a great neighborhood. Great to enjoy a glass of wine in a rocking chair on the front porch. Do not miss happy hour!
We had the fish and chips - good but on the greasy side along with the fries. The waitress gave us about 5 seconds before returning to take our order. We needed more time, so again she returned before we had decided. She said she was new. The place was busy before the play but not packed. Wish the specials were a little more reasonable priced. What happened to the soup and 1/2 sandwich specials???
What a delicious meal of scallops, mashed potato and asparagus! So yummy
Ideal location for downtown Brunswick activity especially in conjunction with Maine State Music Theater. Food was very good and service excellent. Convenient parking available, important in a town where parking can be an issue.
The portions were small. The wedge salad had very little dressing and was ordinary. The swordfish special was dry.
Our haddock dish was delicious, cooked properly and low sodium which we really appreciated.
We visited The Brunswick Tavern for dinner before the show at Maine State Music Theater. The Tavern has put together a very nice prix fix menu focused on getting food out to diners quickly to allow ample time for getting to the show on time. Great idea and a good variety of choice on the menu.
Loved the new before theater menu. The burrito was good but not great. Was disappointed the the outside dining area was closed for renovations as the inside tends to be quite noisy
Excellent food! Had chowder, very fresh so is the fish and chips
Nice surprise. We sat out on the porch for a drink then at a high top in the bar for a lovely dinner while we listened to the music.cant wait to do it again.
They have a pre-theater special menu if going to the Maine State Music Theater. My partner thought the chowder was very good, the cheese hamburger good enough. I thought the salmon on the main menu with sweet potato puree, brussel sprouts and celery root was amazing! Everything came out so promptly, we had finished dinner in less than 1 hour even with dessert and coffee!
For a Mother's Day brunch, the variety was sadly missing. There was only one type of salad, no vegetables, pork instead of roast beef or ham, no bread, and a pathetic selection of desserts. The displays were not especially attractive and at the time I went to get food, there was scarcely anything in the containers. The best part about the whole meal was that I was with my mother!!!
I know they are under renovation… So this was part of the problem. I felt there were not enough choices of food in the Mother’s Day buffet… And it was overpriced for what we received.
I ordered the filet but I dont think it was actually a filet. It was very tough and extremely hard to cut. The green beans were over cooked.
We would not recommend the Easter Brunch for the price. We felt there should have been a better selection of potatoes and should have had vegetables. We did not try the breakfast. The drinks were good.
For Easter brunch/dinner the omlet bar preparations were quite ample. Main courses of good potato and leek soup were accompanied with well prepared lamb and salmons, but some of the other dishes were definitely ordinary. The bean casserole was certainly mislabeled as Cassoulet and my husband found the blueberry pancakes tough. Service seemed stretched thin, since we had to wait for several items to be replenished at the table, since they had run out. Overall somewhat adequate, but certainly could stand improvement.
The menu was surprisingly upscale, however the food though tasty came out lukewarm. The service was sweet but slow and seemingly over her head. Needs a younger more attentive staff. Also this place is next to Bowdoin College should have better TV screens watching games in bar area and maybe a pre-fixe menu. The Mac n Cheese was delish. Fish and Chips was good a little over fried, scallops carbonara was tasty but cream separated. I get the ethos of the chef and this place can be GREAT but needs some fine tuning. Also the waitress came by few times and could see the table next to us was in need of clearing from last customer but it was left untouched and messy throughout our entire meal.
As always we enjoyed our meal with excellent service from Brenda!
