Noble Bistro Oakville
Delicious, beautifully plated appetizers and mains
Second time here and both times have been amazing! The food is incredible- the brussells are a delicious appetizer and the steak is incredible. Portions are not huge but just right. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be back.
The restaurant is stylish and inviting an eclectic menu will satisfy. My scallops and braised short rib was delicious.
Excellent as always
Food and service is always great here
Very good staff - friendly atmosphere with great food
The food was quite good, however it was very rich. Our waiter helped us with our selections and I wish we had received some feedback about the richness of our combinations (brussel sprouts and lobster pasta). I wasn’t able to finish my entrée. The wine was good and the server was attentive. I might return.
I would recommend the restaurant for the quality of the food. However, the service was terrible. Our waiter appeared to be either drunk or stoned. We had reservations for 6pm and didn't get our food until about 7:20.
Amazing food experience, we went there for Valentines Day and it was great. Appetizers were real treat - combination of flavour and texture, pork loin was really good and I had the best creme brulee I have tasted lately.
two fridays in a row, great service and wonderful food. everything was spotless
Taste of Oakville menu was excellent. Would love to have it as a regular item on the lunch menu. Portions for "Taste of Oakville" lunch were a tad TOO small. It really felt like we were served a "sample" portion only. Value for money is negative in this respect. Soup and salad were good portions. Braised beef and scallop potato were REALLY small. It would have added more balance to the meal if a vegetable was also included with the meal. For dessert, the Pecan Tart was tiny even it we had been served the whole tart - but the portion served to us was only 1/2 of the Tart for dessert! Finally, it would have been nice to have had some bread served - especially as one of us had chosen the soup. Our table was set with a bread plate and therefore we expected we would be served bread. If that is not the intention, the bread plates should have been removed from the place setting. Our servers were very attentive yet non-intrusive to our conversation. We were delighted when the young lady informed us that The Taste of Oakville was being extended to the end of the month. I do hope this becomes the norm for all future Taste of Oakville Events. I rated the ambiance low as there is nothing special about the decor. It is pretty much follows the same trend as any other "chic/modern" restaurant out there today. Your typical drab dark colors and abstract art work on the walls. This said, I am there to explore the tantalizing new menu, not to worry about the lack of ambiance. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the "samples" very much. Thank you Noble Bistro.
Great food but disappointing service. Dessert was a write off, as 2 in our party chose the tasting menu, and since our friend has a nut allergy, they substituted his pecan tart with a scoop of sorbet...looked like something you would serve a child! Then proceeded to give the dessert to another in our party saying " Well, you'll eat this won't you?" Cappuccino machine broken.......really? No apology, not impressed!
I met a friend for dinner and we had not seen each other for a long time. From the web page I was anticipating a cozy bistro. We arrived at 6:30pm and as the restaurant started to fill up at around 7-7:30pm and it got so loud we couldn't hear each other sitting directly across from each other. The restaurant was not full to capacity at any time but it's so open without any noise buffers. The food was fantastic - the Arctic Char was delicious and our service was outstanding. However I don't think I would return as my throat was raw from shouting. Not a relaxing experience. Perhaps they could add curtains or fabric half walls to create small intimate areas? I hope so! Thank you.
Food was fine, but a little salty. Was very loud (they sat us next to a large group when the restaurant was half empty).
Excellent dinner! Attentive service. Loved the yellowfin tuna tartare. Braised short ribs were delicious. Good choices for wines and nicely priced. It was a super evening.
Fantastic service and food. Authentic dishes, but portion sizes are quite small. Ambiance is welcoming. Although the wine list is extensive, the prices are far, far over-inflated, even beyond comparable restaurants in the area (Jac's, Seasons). A 6oz glass of Pinot Grigio will run you $12. A 6 oz glass of Chardonnay will run you $14. These are prices are on their house wines, which are not high end wines. Although the food was very tasty and authentic, my overall impression was that they are really over-charging, because it's Oakville. I understand rent downtown is high, so restaurants need to charge more, but then you need to up your portion sizes, to be fair. I may try it again if the prices ease off a bit. There are other high end restaurants in the area offering better value for money.
Service was great. Tasting menu a good value. Another dessert option would have been nice. Tart a little doughy. Short rib and squash agnolotti excellent.
So bad! My friend’s birthday so we took her and her husband out for lunch & I am embarrassed by my restaurant choice. The food - it was edible but hardly met my expectations from a previous lunch visit. We all chose from the A Taste of Oakville menu. Appetizers- soup was cold, salad had greens that were brown. Mains - Butternut Squash Ravioli also cold and supposedly there was brown butter, walnuts & sage. Not on our plates. Some weird foamy sauce on top. The Braised Shortrib - Yikes! Correct - one rib. The piece of meat was about 2 inches square accompanied by what I assume was a vegetable also 2” square. Dessert was a Pecan Pie Tart. This was not a tart it was a tart cut in half and looked and tasted like someone had dashed to Loblaws to buy this then thrown 2 tablespoons of ice cream and a cream sauce on top! Service was slow - we were there 2 ½ hours - restaurant was barely ½ full. Coffee ordered & forgotten for some time. Dreadful experience. Interesting conversation with my friends though so all not lost. We will never go back and I doubt my friends will either.
Have been to Noble Bistro several times...their special event nights, tasting menus etc are always worth it and delicious. Great service!
I went for lunch. It was completely empty. The waiter was extremely attentive. I have a food allergy and they were so accomodating. They offered alternative options for some of the items on the menu. Example being the truffle gnocchi which they changed to risotto and was delicious. We also had truffle fries which were equally tasty.
It was a quiet weeknight and the service from our waiter was exceptional. 3 of us had ordered the Scallops and Short Rib dinner because we have had it before, but this night the short ribs weren’t as good as the last time.
First time at Noble Bistro. Stephen one of our waiters was great! All staff ensured we were taken care of. Ambiance was lovely and good to know they have a separate room inbasement for private parties. Im vegan and my husband isnt but the menu offered a balance for both of us. The chef was open to modifying items as vegan. Food was excellent- amaxing flavour. Arctic Char, jerusalem artichokes, brussel sprouts fantastic! Vegan beet risotto and roasted cauliflower fantastic. Not sure why anyone would provide a negative review. We will be back for sure!!
Food was great, attentive service. Loved the decor and local art on the walls. Unfortunately washrooms are in the basement, and stairs to get into restaurants. Accessibility an issue.
My husband & I went to Noble Bistro for the first time on New Years Eve (first seating), after reading many glowing reviews. I have to say it was the most disappointing dining experience we’ve had in a long time! Service was slow even though there were only about 8 tables. The gnocchi was cold, scallops cooked well but accompanied by a sauce that ruined them. Mains were not much better - we had to send back one steak that was way over cooked. And the portions were small...I mean really tiny! We were told by the very apologetic wait staff that this was because it was a ‘tasting menu’...but for a 3 course New Years Eve tasting menu at that price point you need to serve more than a 4 bite main! I found myself wishing we’d booked in to Paradiso across the street - we could have had a gorgeous meal there for $250 which was our final tab.
I overheard at least 3 other tables complain & get comped drinks or coffee, with one couple getting up and leaving quite abruptly. The only truly delicious part was the lovely panna cotta dessert. Unless this was just a poorly planned & executed special menu, save your money and go elsewhere.
New Years Eve Dinner...poor quality main course and extremely over priced.
The food was outstanding!
The only thing i’d Change would be the decor.....sorry!
Amazing food. Best I've had in long time. Brussel sprouts appetizers dish was unbelievably delicious. Service was awesome.
We've been here twice and will be back again. Staff is very helpful and considerate. They'll explain the different options and let them know what you like and dislike. We ended up with an outstanding ensemble of different dishes that everyone enjoyed. We'll be back for more.
We visited this restaurant the week before Christmas expecting a decent crowd and a good feeling for a Christmas lunch. Upon arrival, there were three other tables in a place that may have had 25 tables or more. Should have known then that things might not go well. No music playing, one employee other than the chef and nothing attractive about the feeling in the place. We waited five minutes before he approached the table and poured water, another 5 minutes before he asked if we would like a drink prior and then an additional 7 or 10 minutes before he returned to take our order. Lethargic, bored, distracted is the only way to describe our server. We asked him to turn on the music (he hadn't noticed it was off), it played for half the time we were there and then shut off again. Shhhh don't make any noise! Might wake someone up!
However, the food we ordered was well prepared and very tasty- the only reason this restaurant is rated a two by us.
I felt terribly let down given the significance of the lunch and will not return.
What a wonderful, delightful & delicious experience!!!! They were able to provide us with incredible vegan options, an outstanding wine list and an extraordinary birthday experience for our daughter. Thank you Noble Bistro. We will definitely return for more!!!! :)
Dinner was good. I had the beef tenderloin. It and the mashed potatoes were warm. It was tasty but only warm. My spouse had a chicken dish. It was steaming hot so I think mine sat for about 5-10 minutes while they made her chicken. Server was great, I forget his name, but he was very good.
Went on a Wed. night - half price house wines is a nice draw! Food was quite good too. My only issue was that the service seemed to be really slow - not a fault of the server by any means, I think there was a party in the lower level and the server was running between 2 floors. I would definitely go back though. Nice place for date night or a special occasion.
Excellent meal - very healthy portions and an exceptionally tasty dessert!
Wow and what a great addition to the neighbourhood. For such a well heeled neighbourhood Oakville is lacking in good restaurants. This was our first meal at Noble - a Saturday lunch to celebrate the holiday season - and we will definitely be back for brunch and dinner soon. The menu was carefully curated and everything sounded appealing
The food is locally sourced and prepared beautifully. The wines by the glass - especially the Californian pinot noir (sorry I've forgotten the vineyard) - was sublime.
We ended our meal with brewed coffees and skipped dessert.
We will be back soon!
Small but vibrant menu. Kitchen was more than willing to accommodate my food sensitivities which was great.
We will come back!
Very tasty menu but some portions (sea bass) very small, had to offer my wife some of my dinner as she was starving.
Service was excellent. Waiter made us feel special and recognized the event we were celebrating with warmth and charm.
Have been here a few times before. Food was still amazing but the service this time is not that perfect. Our waiter was not very friendly and chatty, he was not as attentive as we would. The waiter did not light up the candle and bring any bread , etc. Expect much better service in this restaurant's price point.
Outstanding food and ambiance.
Server should be reminded that 2 women would also like to be offered drinks to start, and when we order the $55 gnocchi special, we don’t need to be asked (twice) if we’re okay with the price. We found this to be condescending and possibly sexist.
Loved everything about this place! I would definitely go back!!
This is my second time at Noble Bistro in Oakville. I have been there once before for Taste of Oakville and loved the food and ambiance. This time, the food was still amazing although due to some timing issue either in the kitchen or service, we waited a long time for our main course to come out and at least two people's main course food was cold. The service, although still friendly and personal, missed a point for us this time. There were two waiters available that night and for the number of people, it seemed appropriate. Although our waiter was very friendly and chatty, he was not as attentive as we would have liked. He seemed to have forgotten things we asked for multiple times like water and bread and did not pay enough attention to details. Aside from waiting for the main course, we had to wait quite a bit of time for him to come by to make requests, etc. and for the bill to come and for him to bring the credit card machine, etc. It just felt like a lot of waiting time. All of these should be fairly standard services, which I would expect to be timely and appropriate for this restaurant's price point. The food was still amazing and staff were friendly.
