   A wonderful experience. Every course personally explained to you by the Head Chef and each one was delightful. If you want a great experience to remember with great food in a lovely atmosphere then 27 The Terrace is the place to go. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

   A Christmas treat to ourselves and well worth the little bit extra paid . Went for the tasting menu and every course was a delight but the three fish course in particular was amazing. Thank you Grant ( head chief ) and Rees. Only criticism from me , not husband, was I was cold but it was freezing night .

   We had the full experience with the drinks flight and had an amazing evening from start to finish evening every single course was fantastic. The menu provided did not reflect the ingredients and skill put into each dish. Grant introduced each of the dishes explaining what ingredients were used and where they had been sourced. Rhys explained the wines served with each dish which were a perfect match. Service was great. With the quality of food and service being so good booked again for the next time we visit St Ives

   We booked this restaurant to celebrate our golden anniversary. The food was outstanding, the dining room beautiful and service friendly and welcoming. We didn’t have the tasting menu because of food intolerances but if we had giving them notice they could have made adjustments.

   We booked for the 6 course tasting menu which is served by the chef and we were blown away by the service and the presentation of the food. The room itself is the perfect size with limited tables so you really do get an attention to detail that could be missing in a bigger setting. The wine pairing with the dinner could have had more description or reasoning as we felt it didn’t get as much attention as the food which was a shame however this didn’t distract for what was a wonderful evening. We would recommend here if you’re looking for quality food and an intimate setting.

    Had a really good evening. Had the tasting menu and was not disappointed. Not one item failed all tasted wonderful. Staff very helpful and the chef explained every course.I was dining alone and was a little bit concerned whether this would work but it did.

    Tasting menu displayed the full skills and versatility of the chef, who personally introduced each course. Excellent local ingredients. The food was beautifully presented and served at perfect temperatures. Highlights: duck breast with a perfect Bordelais sauce reduction, using Zinfandel; the dessert of poached rhubarb with crushed gingerbread, orange and a taste of coriander. We shared a flight of wine and this provided a number of original and interesting choices that all complemented the food very well. The ambience and location are elegant - the building itself is historic- and, given the quality of the experience, remarkable value for money.

    This was the third time eating at the Dining Room at 27 and it was as wonderful as ever. A delicious menu of mainly fish was skilfully created and explained by the head chef, Grant, and the service was smooth and professional. Our highlight was the beetroot dish, the duck and the trink milk dessert. Highly recommended.

    The tasting menu was very good. The wine flight was paired expertly and certainly added to the experience. All courses were great, although the scallops course was less impressive. We weren't offered the optional cheese course. Compared to other tasting menus locally, this is good value for money as it is well thought through food that is not reliant on theatrics. Service maybe needs some polish. Overall, a very pleasant night, and we would recommend it.

    The a la carte choices mirrored the tasting menu and so we stayed with the a la carte. The food was exceptional and all served by our waiter who was helpful, courteous and such great company- being willing to talk about the restaurant, St. Ives and other establishments we had visited in the area. When we had a question about the cooking of one of the dishes he arranged for the chef to come out and talk to us, and he too was engaging and so eager to be helpful and informative. My partner forgot her handbag and our waiter ran out to catch us up and deliver it to her. That said it all!!!

    This little restaurant is a real gem. Small, quiet, beautiful room and absolutely delicious food. We tried the six course tasting menu and every single dish was so delicious. Every dish was explained in detail by the chef and we were impressed by all of them. If I have to single out one then it was the cod. Love that they use local ingredients and everything is so fresh. Don’t miss this gem!

    Quite simply it was stunning. We had the tasting menu and accompanying wine flight and were blown away. It wasn’t stuffy or pretentious but was carefully put together using seasonal local ingredients and presented by the Head Chef Grant. The dining room is a lovely space with fantastic views out over the sea. A must visit when in St Ives

    we finished the holiday with a booking at 27, we didn't take the wine paring as we had to travel back home early hours, that said it didn't spoil the meal, 27 made our holiday a wonderful experience with food, service and venues, Grant the chef followed the waitress around explaining the detail of the produce included in each dish, and how it was prepared,the young lady serving was very good, Grant certainly knows how to choose his staff, we will be back, and look forward to another sampling menu, to enjoy not only the delights of the local food, but the creativity of the chef and his team, well done, and thank you

    A top quality locally sourced seasonal tasting menu served and described by the proprietor. Some exceptional flavour combinations. We chose some of the flight of wines offered which were interesting and good value. The shared experience in the dining room soon had guests talking to one another and asking the chef questions about how the dishes were prepared that he willingly answered. Very well worth a visit.

    Fantastic food, the tasting menu and table side service by the chef was very good indeed. Wine flight was good but poured away from the table - at the table would have been better to see the bottle. Small dining room, but very well decorated. Great sea view for about half the diners.

    Fantastic, brilliant food that locally sourced. Cosy 18 cover restaurant. Head Chef Grant is a great guy and knows his stuff. Should have at least a Michelin star. Go, have the tasty menu. No regrets, just ask for extra bread to mop up the sauce!

    There was a very noisy child in the restaurant at the time completely uncontrolled by the parents. Do it was a little noisy but this was no fault of the restaurant.

    The 4 of us had the 6 course tasting menu. High quality ingredients including lobster, duck crab and sea bass, all locally sourced and well presented. Wine flight was good value. Excellent service and the chef personally introduced each course. We were even given a doggy bag of lobster bisque to take home! What more could you ask for!
