   We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at No1 Whitstable. Ruby, our waitress was smiley, jolly and very helpful. We are locals to Whitstable and will def be coming back.

   Was empty when we arrived but was a Monday evening 3 of the 4 drinks requested were not available so had to have alternatives. No bread with the terraine. Duck and lamb mains were tasty but not worth the price - £25 for a tiny portion of lamb and extra for the veg. Left hungry so would not recommend

   Thank you for dining with us on Monday. I apologise that you was informed three drinks where unavailable this shouldn't of been the case as everything was in stock. Our duck and lamb large plates are two of the popular meat choices, we give an entire duck breast and 8oz of lamb loin, sides are required with all dishes on our menu as the menu is designed to share. Our terrine doesn't come with bread however could be added by asking your server. Please next time you dine with us raise any concerns with our staff and we can address them and make you experience as good as possible.

   The place was not really clean, food was nothing extraordinary and it took so long. Plus the brunette waitress was so rude.

   Other than Ruby, our server, who was lovely, the staff were abrupt and unhelpful. The table was so sticky our sleeves were sticking to it. One of us ordered scallops for £16. When they arrived there were only 2 and just a tomato sauce dressing. No leafy salad or anything. £8 for each scallop! The chips were identical to McDonald’s fries. Could’ve been Iceland oven chips. When we spoke to the manager regarding the extortionate cost he was dismissive and more or less said “whatever” but in his Google response to our review said he would have been “happy to accommodate us” if we’d told him! What does that even mean? Is he saying he knew it was ridiculous to charge £8 per scallop so he’d have chucked a few more on for us? If that’s the case then he could’ve taken something off the bill when we complained. He also tried to justify the cost by saying they were large scallops. They definitely weren’t.

   Nice food, no premium spirits which for me personally is an omission for a seemingly high end restaurant.

   5 for lunch at No.1 Whitstable. We all really enjoyed our dining experience. Food was excellent, environment too. Pork Belly Skewers, Duck Cottage Pie, Moules, Braised Spring Beans, Parmesan Fries, Cheesy Beans On Toast were all delicious. Would have marked our visit outstanding but unfortunately our waiter let the team down. She was probably having a bad day (as we all do) but came across very unfriendly, to have been a little more cheerful would have made all the difference. Definitely recommend No.1 Whitstable and look forward to returning another day. Many thanks.

   Having studied the menu for dinner online it was slightly disappointing that that was not what was offered. Chicken Kief for instance. Nevertheless, a meal served was pleasant and half the price the Oyster Company restaurant. It was pointed out that Service was not included and 10% tip was offered.. however the waitress said the tip couldn’t be included when taking the credit card but had to be arranged separately. I should think the staff need to have a word with the patron to get that sorted out as I certainly wasn’t going to go to any further trouble in giving a generous tip. She received nothing.

   Our new menu was launched on the evening you dined so was updated just before we started dinner service. It has been posted on our social media account for a few days prior to updating on here, google and our website. Tips and gratuity is not included as standard as we feel that you should only tip if you think your service was worth it. We do have a separate card machine for tips provided to us by a company called Just Tips which means the staff can keep track of their own tips and how much they earn. It makes everything more transparent for everyone. We also accept cash tips which are divided each shift. I apologise if this wasn't made clear enough when paying the bill. From what i remember overall you enjoyed your experience so i hope we can welcome you back soon.
