A great anniversary dinner. You have to pay for it - but it was a unique and delicious meal.
The service was elegant and friendly. The food was inventive and flavorful. A lovely venue.
Terrific food, service and drinks. The color scheme and atmosphere was not good. The interior lacks warmth and color. The drab gray and brown walls are confining and make the small room seem even smaller. We come here for the food , but we would welcome a redecorated dining room.
Excellent.. would have been 5 but dessert was really disappointing compared to rest of the meal..
We celebrated our anniversary at No. 9 Park and it was a great experience. The food was exquisite as usual. The service could not have been better. When we got there there was a nice small bouquet of flowers waiting on the best table in the restaurant , champagne was comped, desert plates with well wishes... just could not have asked for a better place to celebrate a special occasion.
Thank you No. 9 for a special evening.
Great bar and knowledgeable staff
Love the place!
My 3d visit
We typically go to Menton, Deuxave, and L’esplaier (when it was open); decided to try No. 9 Park. Terrible decision. I'd rate the staff here less than zero if possible. Arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation, sat by the bar to wait. Ordered drinks that never ended up coming, and were seated at our table after the reservation time anyway. Waiter gave us our menus and disappeared long enough for us to wonder if his shift ended. Didn't ask us if we wanted bread until well after the drinks came. Bread didn't show up until after our appetizer came out. They seemed to have a ton of wait staff in the dining room but not enough attentive service. Needed to flag down a staff person walking by to get more bread. One waiter stood in the back the entire meal without moving or helping anybody. Food was either too salty or not seasoned enough; they also didn't ask how I wanted my protein cooked. Dining room was loud enough to be a train station. Total was about $400 for two people, which I'm fine paying if it's warranted. This place is not worth it.
From the moment we walked in we were treated like treasured guests. Outstanding service and knowledgeable staff. Wind choices were varied in both scope and price. Our server was well versed and helped us pick a great wine that was perfect compliment to our food. Menu was varied and perfectly attuned to the seasonal produce. Only disappointment was my appetizer that featured squash blossoms and was very shy on them all was delicious though and we enjoyed our experience and the food. Will definitely return when we visit Boston in the fall and look forward to seeing what will be on the menu then.
Food - as beautiful as it was delicious and an experience!
Ambiance - slightly older than preferred
Excellent! Fantastic! Super! What else can i say. An outstanding dining experience. Delicious food, impeccable service, quaint atmosphere. Ideal for special occasions.
This was my third time at the restaurant and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent -- our waitstaff was the right mix of attentive without hovering over us. They were jovial and completely "not stuffy". And the food was amazing -- exactly what you'd expect from a Barbara Lynch restaurant.
Excellent attentive service. Duck with hazelnut sauce and fiddle head ferns and cauliflower and afew cherries was delicious. Dick cooked pink was perfect. I eat there whenever in Boston and will return
This was our 3rd time dining at 9 Park and was the best. The staff excelled in every way. They were friendly, professional, competent, informative. We had several food courses, each superb. Oysters were fresh, duck outstanding. Nice wine list and good recommendations. Wow!
No. 9 Park is an example as to how fine dining should be. The menu is always changing, there is an a la carte as well as tasting menu and the service, the atmosphere and the food met all expectations.
Beautiful ambiance. Fantastic wait staff. Very attentive and informed but not formal or stuffy. Just lovely.
Ambience was very good. Food was okay nothing much to speak of. The server made all the difference. He was exceptional. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening because of his services.
Always a pretty perfect experience!
Pricy but incredible service. Small plates though.
Even when drowning in student debt and eating top ramen, I would set aside $20/month so I could go to No. 9 Park on my birthday every year. I can still only afford to go there 1-2, rarely 3, times per year. Yet when I’m there they treat me like a weekly regular. So friendly and welcoming even though I’m probably not as well polished as their regular customers. The food puts me in a blissful state. So astounding. From the perfect pastas to the mouth melting meat, and the always exquisite prune stuffed gnocchi. This year the manager added a bonus that I’m still in a little shock over. They are just the most awesome people serving fantastic food with love. I’ve been going there for 13 years, and even after I move from Boston I imagine that I’ll try to keep coming back to have my birthday there. I can’t recommend No. 9 enough.
As far as I'm concerned (and my guests would concur), this is the best restaurant on Beacon Hill by a mile. The food is interesting, unusual, beautifully presented. Each dish is its own work of art. The staff is friendly and respectful; very professional. If you are looking for a special treat, this is the place to go.
The meal was very good and the service was good. However, on either side next two us were couples who spent the entire time we were there on their cell phones... We dont come to a nice dinner to hear other peoples lives or have bright lights in our faces. I spoke to the maitre de about this and was told you have not cell phone policy... Granted these were rude customers, but you should ask people to go outside to use their cell phones and not ruin the meal for those of us who are more considerate...
Exceptional food and service that was above and beyond. They truly made us feel special!
My companions and I had 3 cocktails, bread service, 4 entrees, 2 desserts. They were all outstanding. I would recommend for a completely perfect dining experience to request a table away from the back wall where a dumbwaiter regularly rumbles in the adjacent room. One does get used to it.
Fabulous food and wine in this excellent restaurant
Excellent meal and ambiance. Staff attention to detail was amazing. Very knowledgeable waitstaff and to top it off our children had prearranged to take care of our meal for out 40th anniversary!
Got dinner here with my date. The food was quite good but not outstanding for me. We had the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing. I felt very rushed. Dishes came quickly after each other and even after repetitive asking we kept getting the food too quick.
Attention to every detail is what really sets this gem apart from other fine dining experiences. Every aspect of our meal choices were complimented by truly exceptional service. The beautiful presentation is one thing, the taste sensations and perfect balance were honestly next level. One of the best dining experiences of our lives thus far.
Food and service were excellent. We were looking forward to a leisurely meal and felt that we were a little rushed. The appetizers arrived immediately after our cocktails and dinner as soon as the appetizer plates were cleared. Port arrived with the desert, a faux pas, but otherwise a lovely meal. I would have appreciated the opportunity to savor it.
As always, No. 9 is The Place for the best food and service. The gnocchi with prunes were outstanding; the lamb, a bit overdone. The complimentary hake was excellent, a treat in every way.
Thanks for elevating an evening of melancholy farewells with friends who are moving to the West Coast.
We were celebrating our daughter’s graduation. Our server, Jonathan, went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was just perfect. My other daughter had her jaws wired shut, due to a broken jaw, and Jonathan worked with the kitchen to make sure her dining experience was just as fabulous. She had a trio of puréed soups for an appetizer and then had wagu beef puréed for her entree. It was amazing! Her meal was topped off with a strawberry mascarpone shake!
This was our second visit and we look forward to going back next time we are in Boston!!
The entire evening was wonderful, except for one exception. We chose the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. Our server who was quite knowledgeable, was also an excellent sales person but he failed to clarify that the "extras" would be quite a bit more $, as well as extra wines. He highlighted them to the point of all of us being confused about what to do, other than get these "extras." This resulted in a final bill almost twice as much as expected. That did not ruin this wonderful evening at No 9 Park, but I think the staff needs to be more focused on the additional fees customers are paying, especially when they are "caught up in the moment" of a special dinner.
Expected more ...
No 9 Park never disappoints. The food is interesting. The wine is well selected and there is support to learn about the choices. service well done. noise level higher than I remembered from last time.
Perfect for a special occasion. The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. Food is perfect.
This is a modern Boston institution. It is very comfortable and reassuringly interesting cuisine. Is it great - no; not even close. The wine list is unquestionably interesting and not unreasonably price. The main courses tend toward white wine/seafood. The decor really needs refurbishment (after all this is not an "old Yankee" shabby chic restaurant) and some serious acoustic treatment would make the noise levels more tolerable. Service is friendly and efficient, but it is not 3-star service; in other words it is good enough. As for the cuisine, something is missing. Flavors are not deep and do not come together perfectly for every dish. A tuna appetizer has too much smoke flavor (too au courant unfortunately). The deserts are just short of very good and maybe short of good. Overall it is fine, but that is not how its made it reputation when it first opened.
Excellent food. Superb service great location. The gnocchi was out of this world. Palmyra wAs a great drink!
Delicious! Wish we had more time to linger. Will come again.
Soooooooo delicious! Very expensive, but definitely worth it. Had some wonderful mixes of flavors that I've never had before. Such a treat!
