Delicious food and impeccable service
We dine out often, and this was the best meal - with the best service - we've had in at least five years.
My husband’s 60th, life crazy so didn’t call till a few days before, thrilled a table was available, wonderful manager called to get details of Steve’s BDay and inform me it was the same night as holiday lights on common, but he’d do his best since I’d requested a window seat...arrived to warm welcome and escorted to lovely corner window seat waiting for us on the bar side where we enjoyed a fine bottle of champagne, a truly marvelous dinner and a nicely lit BDay dessert....the interior space is so beautiful but what makes it for me is the wonderful service. This night was no exception, the well trained staff is knowledgeable, friendly and fun, a well coordinated team working together to assure each diner feels special and is satisfied. All in all a perfect evening....thanks so much.....After all these years, No.9 still delivers that certain je ne c’est quoi....an elegant yet approachable dining experience difficult to define, it’s an art of service somewhat lost in today’s busy world...so glad we have it right here in Beacon Hill!
As always, the perfect place to celebrate with friends. Outstanding in every way.
Overall we had a good experience here. The waiter who served our wine was really nice and very welcoming. The food was fine, it didn’t blow us away, especially not for the money we paid ($525 + tip). We are probably spoiled by the quality we get in London and New York - and we have experienced some stunning restaurants in both cities. Our main comment is the speed at which we were served and the apparent haste to get us out of the restaurant. We had to ask for a break between courses as they kept coming and then after dessert we had the check dumped on the table - No offer of coffee or another drink and weren’t asked if we wanted a cheese course either! Then we waited for our taxi and left in silence, had to ask someone to get our coats. Another small criticism (but if you’re charging a fortune for a fine dining experience, then it’s the attention to detail that counts) - the tablecloths were creased and not ironed. Sounds petty but it is lazy.
All in all a pleasant night but not worth the expense in terms of a culinary experience compared to what you can get in other restaurants at this level.
Everything about this restaurant is enjoyable. From the moment you walk in on a snowy evening and the host places your winter coat in a heated cloak room until your waiter suggests the most delicious chocolate shuffle imaginable to cap your delicious meal. What a treat to find such good food and service in Boston.
Food was phenomenal; hats off to the chef. Elaborate wine list for all budgets. Catering waitstaff. Made for a memorable night in Boston.
This restaurant is kind of an institution in Boston, caddy corner to the State House and Barbara Lynch’s flagship restaurant. The bar area feels upscale and on point with cocktails. However, when we were seated, we were not placed in the beautiful dining area that is visible directly beyond the bar. Unclear of the area is for private dining or events, but I have sat there before and felt like I had an excellent experience with service and food about 6 years ago.
It felt like a cruel trick seeing that area from the bar. Instead, we were seated in the side dining room just around the corner from the hostess, so we were periodically pummeled by a bone chilling draft of air from the front door.
There appeared to be only one server in our table distribution area and with only one larger party of about 8, that was overwhelming and food orders, drink orders, apologies...basically everything, was all delayed. We chose the a la carte menu — oysters were wonderful East coast beauties, but they forgot all the accoutrements to go with them and it took about 15 minutes to get our server’s attention. They also forgot to offer us any bread / butter, so we were left empty handed for quite a bit. There is someone that specifically brings out the bread / butter...you had one job, we needed you!
The seared foie gras was done perfectly, the decorations around it on the plate seemed unnecessary. The wild mushroom starter was underwhelming and soupy; it felt like it was missing something...or perhaps just should not have been ordered in the first place.
The saving grace of the meal was the tagliatelle with butter, olive oil and shaved white truffle. Simple and perfectly done, as was the recommended wine pairing from the same region in Italy as the truffle. I would come back for that dish...and only that.
All in all, the restaurant was really disappointing. In the future, I may just savor my martini at the bar and go elsewhere for dinner.
Birthday dinner. Fabulous! Server Christy was outstanding!
They tried to seat us by the door / in a secluded area when we had clearly made a reservation. If there’s space they should offer the dining area not a cold area by the doir
Expected a special meal after all the publicity concerning Chef Lynch but was totally disappointed. We chose the tasting menu to experience what we were told was the best the restaurant could offer and course after course disappointed. Not one course had any flavor or anything of interest. When you serve what is supposed to be a risotto dish and you get a watered mush dish that pretty much says it all. Don’t waste your time and money.
We had planned for No. 9 Park to be the crescendo of our "Barbara Lynch" weekend (visiting 5 of the Company locations), we were not disappointed!! We couldn't have asked for a better experience.... Our server, Kristi T. was delightful and the support staff was awesome as well. The food is to die for, very creative and wonderfully presented..... The Chef's Tasting Menu was such a treat! The wine list was very special, including affordable and recognizable bottles as well as some wonderful rare gems...
I must say, it was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had.....
We had the most amazing time celebrating my husband's birthday. Every single member of the staff from service to bar to front of house was wonderful. We will be sure to return soon!
Terriific evening with delicious food and great service. Table of 6 was a bit awkwardly placed - but turned out just fine.
The food, wine, service and ambiance was outstanding. Overall a great experience!
I’m from Chicago and took my mom for her birthday. Every aspect was fabulous - from the pre-arranged floral arrangement, food, wine, cocktails and service! I’d highly recommend it.
Excellent service. Interesting that there were no New Zealand wines on the menu, and a paucity of sauvignon blanc, despite a huge wine list.
We loved this place. The white Alba truffles were a dish to remember and the ensemble service was attentive without being smothering. Very special meal.
Overall very good
We dined at No 9 Park to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a great experience. The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. Dinner was amazing and even passed the approval of our 12 year old son who enjoyed something off all of our plates!!! We will definitely be back again!
service was painfully slow. our second bottle of wine came after everyone had finished their entrees.
Birthday celebration as
Reserved the place for 2nd anniversary with my partner. The servers were so kind and and heart-warming to congratulate us every time they came to serve us. At the end of the course, they served a dessert menu with "Happy Anniversary" written on it. We loved 2.5 hours of our anniversary spent here and completely worth the value.
Food was wonderful. A lot of questions right at the beginning for all the add on’s to the tasting menu. When our main server wasn’t pouring the wine pairings, the other person pouring was not as knowledgeable
For a special occasion, Anniversary or otherwise, No. 9 Park is outstanding. The chef's selection with wine pairings was wonderful. The staff is attentive and made our night one to remember!
Quiet while we were there late one evening. Lovely new england inflected food- my crude was surprisingly high on the mayo but otherwise lovely and maintains its place at the top of the food chain in Boston
Amazing as usual. Truly fine dining with great advise on food and pairings
Every morsel - delicious. No. 9 Park continues to prepare dishes that are absolutely flawless in their composition and taste. Artists in the kitchen! New menu items as well as the favorites and if you ask for a special drink - they'll make it for you!
Great food, very attentive, and best of all it was quiet enough to chat at a normal volume
Extremely professional, yet also friendly and out-going. Our server, Alex, had good suggestions, and clear, concise answers to all our questions. He and the other members of the staff were always taking care of us, but were very unobtrusive at the same time. We all thought the food was outstanding. Of course, the tab was not inexpensive; not many will make this a regular stop, but we were there for a special occasion and for that, it was perfect.
The food was very good but the ambiance was more like walking into a sports bar with high top tables and a bar. The music made me feel like I was on the Love Boat, very strange choice of remade 70s and 80s music. My table faced the back of a bench which was so high I could not see anything in the mirror above it so I felt a little claustrophobic.
Good day, I would like to hear more about the details of your experience. If you would be so kind as to reach out, I'd love the opportunity to talk to you. I can be reached at (617)742-9991. Regards, Sean Dining Room Manager
Cozy upscale spot right on the park with great views of the city. Wonderful service and impeccable food and wine options. Looking forward to the next special event to return again!
The best food in town expertly served and accommodation for my special diet.
I have come here for 19 years and it has consistently been the best
My wife and I were in town from Toronto for the weekend and desperately wanted to come back to no. 9. We were here four years ago and absolutely loved the entire experience. The staff was amazing and the food was out of this world. It will forever be on our list each and every time we come to Boston.
My advice always do the chefs tasting along with the wine pairing.
Thanks to the No. 9 team for another memorable evening.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at No. 9 Park and our experience was fantastic! The dishes were to die for and the service was very professional and thoughtful, our waiter made great cocktail suggestions and was very welcoming. We will definitely be returning!
BAD/BAD No. 9 Park has been our go to restaurant in Boston for special occasions, not anymore. We have gone to No. 9 for a long time but our visit this week was unforgettably awful. While the service and ambience remain perfect as usual, the food we were served was like night and day from our usual experience from start to finish: Bread was cold and stale; appetizer of sautéd mushrooms ruined by a uncooked poached egg in the center; my wife's king salmon was small (at best 3 oz) and previously frozen; my sea scallops were so over seasoned as to be inedible. Perhaps there are management problems or the chef has recently changed.
For a couple to spend $200 for this level of quality, we have several other places in Boston serving quality authentic French haute cuisine. Sorry No. 9 Park, we hate to leave but we will not be back.
I am very sorry you did not enjoy your evening with us. I'd appreciate the opportunity to speak with you and understand more about your experience. I will be sharing your feedback with our Chef. I just left a message on your voicemail with my personal email or I can be reached at (617)742-9991. -Sarah Kennedy
Food was fantastic and service was prompt but server was almost overly trained/rehearsed. Really great meal nonetheless. Very impressed.
Service was slow, food was mixed (eg, carrot tart on which foie gras mousse was served was nearly inedible), and it is ridiculously overpriced in light of the foregoing.
Had a really poor experience with our waitress. We were seated 20 min late to our reservation, asked which type of water we wanted but never give it, never offered bread when the other tables were, and then our wine showed up as we were finishing up our meal. Very strange experience.
Thank you again for your feedback and for speaking with me on the phone today. I very much value your time and the effort you took to share your experience with us. I have emailed you and hope we will see you again in the future, we would love to show you the true No 9 Park experience. Regards, Sarah
Birthday celebration! The entire experience never fails!
