Overall a good experience. Service was a bit rushed because we arrived while the pre-theatre dinner crowd was there.
The dishes were generally quite good: we had the artichokes, which was a bit undercooked, as an appetizer along with a side of Brussels sprouts, which were a bit overcooked. We shared two different pasta dishes -- the baked gnocchi were like little clouds, and the pansoti was delicious.
Food prices were very reasonable and the wine list had options at a range of price points.
So delicious and an amazing assortment of gluten free options! Definitely on point!
Food was very good, and we very much appreciate the gluten free options. But, service was uneven at best.
We had a perfect brunch at Nizza. The food, drinks, service, ambience, and overall value was fantastic!!!
I live a block away so I have been here 3 times already, but this is my first review. This is a neighborhood gem.. reasonable prices, very good italian food. Last time I tried the gnocchi and they did not disappoint. In the past I have tried the pizzas and they are very good (perfect size to order for 1 person). As per drinks, reasonably priced wines, and great apperol spritz.
I would say the thing I love the most about this place is the attention (always great service), and its bread. With olive oil and ricotta is truly unbelievable!
One of the best dining experiences I have had in years. It was a Valentine's pre-theater dinner. I was stuck in terrible traffic and my date was there on time., so I asked him to order for me. Not only did the lovely waitress (wish I knew her name) seat him without me, (which is rare) she made evertything incredibly comfortable for him and then for me when I arrived. She greeted me with a smile, made me feel special, and had everything laid out to beyond my liking: gluten free breads, watermelon-ginger non-alcoholic specialty drink for me and my bf's favorite Rose' branzino (cooked to perfection). We finished with a tasty marscapone cheesecake. As we left, the manager sent us off with a big smile. Still have a big smile on my face and am grateful for a memory I will not forget.
Great choices and delicious specials. Fair prices too. Should have ordered the pizza....
It’s good Italian food at a good price point for the location. The tables are well organized and you don’t feel claustrophobic. Service was friendly and efficient. We were there for lunch on a Sunday before a matinee and it was a comfortable place to keep grazing until it was time for the theater.
Great pre-theater dinner spot. Great service - didn't feel rushed through the meal.
One of my favorite New York eateries! I eat here every time I come to the city
Food was amazing!!! For someone who is gluten free this restaurant was so catering with its own gluten free menu- I had the spaghetti and sausage and their complimentary foccacia bread and it was so good! The other guests were not gluten free and loved their meals as well! The bus boys were so on top of clearing our plates and bringing us water and silverware, I would HIGHLY recommend this place. Pricing was decent as well!
I went to Nizza with my mom for an early dinner before seeing Hamilton. We wanted good Italian food in the theatre district, and it came highly rated online. They weren't kidding! We split a pizza that was just delicious - not too filling, quality ingredients. We also each had really good cocktails - the lemoncello sangria is awesome. If you're going to see a show, this is close to all the theatres and a way better option than all the chains you'll find in Times Square.
Yummy pre-theater lunch! Delicious eggplant rolatini and tomato soup. Great gluten free options.
Focaccia bread with warm ricotta and olive oil brought to table was delicious. We ordered eggplant rollatine and caprese salad for apps-both were fantastic! Rigatoni entree was unique and tasty. Warm apple crostata was amazing with vanilla ice cream. $103 plus tip was reasonable for 2 glasses of wine, 2 apps, 2 entrees and 1 dessert. We would go back again and recommend!
Food was good but meal was rushed. Our appetizer came out and then our meal before we even touched the app. When we told the waitress she did not offer to take food back or apologize for rush.
Another solid meal and great place to hang with friends.
It was quite good but the fish my husband ordered was so small and he left hungry. Not good for a bill that came too $100.
No loud music so you can hear your companions & the staff. The host recommended the perfect wine! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. It was a birthday & they brought an incredible birthday treat. It was just fab!
We stopped by for pre-theatre dinner. They're close enough to the Signature theatre.
Food was standard red-sauce italian. The artichoke was a little woody, the pasta a little bland. Service was fine. None of it was worth complaining or writing home about.
The lighting was bright until they dimmed the lights for “dinner “ time. The table for 4 was a bit tight for 4 adults. The food was very good but the entrees could have been larger. All in all a very nice experience.
We enjoyed finding this sweet restaurant. We went early so we had immediate seating, good service, a great place to converse( it might be noisier if later on the evening as it is small.) Our food was tasty and we plan to return!
Great gluten free options and all the food was great. We had GF eggplant rollatini, and GF and regular gnocchi.
This place always delivers. Whether it’s a late night bite or pre theater meal they consistently deliver delicious food in a timely manner. Good value and they accommodate special requests ie allergies. Always a pleasure to eat here
I’ve been to Nizza several times and am never disappointed! I had the salmon the other night and it was wonderful. Have recommended it to several friends. Also, the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Tasty gluten-free options. Our family’s favorite Italian restaurant.
Took my girlfriend fir 22nd bday. everything was great. definitely recommend.
LOVE Nizza. We come to the city 2 times a year to see a show and it is our tradition to eat at Nizza before or after!
friends i bring are always very pleased, i enjoy the gluten-free pizza (my "usual
" (!) ... without the cheese (!!))
pleasant option in the theater district; tomato soup and arugula salad for appetizers were tasty; pasta dishes (one with sausage, the other cacio e pepe) were OK, nothing special unfortunately; service was perfect, most cooperative in getting us out in time for a show; prices very reasonable, a full house so they must be doing something right.
The Sunday dinner was very authentic & perfect size. The French toast was yummy. Nice staff not rushed. Very close to theater!!
