Good food. Decent service.
Great service & food! Loved the scramble & ginger cake!
Portions were way too small and it was so hot in the restaurant.
The food was excellent and the service was great as well. The cocktails were interesting and tasty.
We were slow and no one rushed us - a great Saturday afternoon
I was looking for a vegetarian restaurant which was a little bit fancy. Nix was featured in an Eaters article on vegetarian friendly restaurants.
I liked that all the menu was meant to be shared. We ordered vegetable crudités, smoked beets salad, and tofu skin pockets. All the dishes were beautiful and temperature was just right. I love the flavor and texture combinations of the beets salad. Tender beets with creamy sauce and crunchy chickpeas and kale and beets chips.
We ordered maple custard for a dessert. When it was delivered, we were a little disappointed because it looked very plain. But it turned out very good! The custard was super smooth and creamy, and huckleberry sauce had right amount of acidity to cut the richness of the custard.
We enjoyed dining here very much and highly recommend it for someone looking for healthy yet delicious dishes.
Simply incredible food and service. The squash dumplings and potato gnocchi were fabulous!
Despite leaving the note this was "Special Occasion," we were the forgotten table. Our server basically rarely checked on us - to the point we had to enlist busser (who were SPOT ON amazing and FANTASTIC) or the manager for service.
We even asked to get more drinks and the server never came after 15 minutes. For the price point, its a SUPER easy cash grab. Which segways into the food.
Overall it was fair... very hit or miss. The best thing we had was the Tandoori Bread with Red Pepper dips. A lot of the seasoning was off or didn't work as a fully composed dish. Definitely won't be back.
There is much better vegetarian and vegan food around the city - especially at that price point
Excellent! Our servers first night and she was wonderful... host was very kind and helped us get a table while waiting for bar seats. Felt a little pricey at the end but would certainly go back
Such a great atmosphere and they employ a very customer oriented staff.
Amazing vegetation food and ambiance. Loved it
Really great and attentive menu to vegetarians, vegans, and more. Cool vibe. Highly recommend!
Really poor service but food was very good
Good. Small portions
The food was outstanding! The Brussels sprouts were perfect and the squash ravioli was great too! The grilled pineapple was a little oversold. It needs to be pre-ordered, but we thought the balance of flavors was a bit out of sync on the dessert. Otherwise a brilliant dinner and I’m curious to return to try more.
Food was delicious- as always!
Service was good but couldn’t measure up to the waiter who served us the last time.
They carry both a vegan and vegetarian menu.
Would definitely recommend!
We just love it
Food was mushy and saucy. Fussy food that didn’t add to the taste. The fresh bread and dips were good.
Beautiful calm ambiance, subtle understated decor, intimate lighting, wonderful and attentive staff who are truly so helpful and accomodating, food was spectacular with unusual creative pairings, everything was super fresh and delicious - an experience worth savoring.
We had a great meal at Nix the other night. Everything was well prepared and the innovative cocktails are great. Can't wait to make a return visit.
We had a wonderful experience at Nix. We we’re celebrating an anniversary, and Nix began with congratulating us and offering us a glass of bubbles, a beautiful touch. We shared several plates and each was better than the last. We enjoyed a mostly vegan dinner that was so flavorful and beautiful. The presentation was exquisite and each bite was delicious. We will definitely be back when we’re back in NYC! Thanks Nix!
Delicious vegetarian fare, always a treat to visit Nix. Their tasting menus are excellent value, and offer inventive flavours, plus creative uses of all kinds of ingredients.
Excellent on all fronts and Im not vegan!
Nix is a vegetarian restaurant that will please even the most avid carnivores. The food is exquisitely seasoned nicely presented and there is something to please every palate. We don't eat there very often because the menu hasn't changed since the restaurant opened and the menu is quite limited.
Food is straight up bland, sloppy and incredibly overrated!
If you love healthy creative delicious vegetarian, this is the right choice.
What a surprise - gorgeous interiors, courteous staff, seamless service, great energy... and not to mention - amazing food!! What a lovely and sweet experience.
Creative menu offering both Vegan and Vegetarian selections. Excellent quality. Great service.
Wonderful food, exceptional service
Overall, we had a lovely evening. The hostess seemed to need a bit more training, but our waiter was excellent (attentive, kind, enthusiastic). Fairly limited, but satisfactory wine list and house cocktails. We ordered the vegan tasting menu--the first course (two spreads and crudite) was fresh and tasty, second course (kombucha squash dumplings) were very flavorful and unexpectedly unique, third course (yams and tofu) were a bit overly sweet and oddly textured, respectively, for our tastes. All in all, a nice experience. I would return.
Such a warm and friendly staff throughout our experience. Menu was explained wonderfully and we were given the option of vegetarian or strictly vegan menus. Each course we had was absolutely delicious and balanced in flavors. Really wonderful evening. I'm not vegetarian but I will come back here!
Food quality, service, and ambiance were great. However, the quantity of food and value was severely lacking. We ordered twice as much as the waiter suggested and still were left hungry after the meal. This was our second time visiting, but we still felt the food quality was good.
Server was condescending.
We were not told when we made our reservation that was for 2 o'clock that they would turn the heat off at 3:30 to make us leave.
When you make a date if there are restrictions, they should be told to you up front.
Food was good but not worth it
Service continues to be an issue. Last several visits service has been slow and there seems to be staffing issues and confusion about who covers certain tables/areas.
Absolutely wonderful! My tastebuds were taken on a unique journey of flavor & texture. I was especially delighted to be introduced to new vegetable and ingredient pairings I have never tried before. Nix was an absolute treat -bring your friends & family!
The food was excellent, well prepared, nicely presented and wonderfully tasty.
The pre-dinner cocktails were creative and flavorful, the Wine was a bit overpriced for the selection by the glass. The staff remembered to place a candle in the dessert as requested when making the reservation.
Only negative was being rushed through appetizers and dinner. Dinner selections arrived prior to appetizers being finished and wait staff constantly asked if they could remove our plates when there was obviously food still to be enjoyed.
Took my vegan friend out for her birthday and we both loved the food and cocktails!
Nix was a delicious treat for us! Every part of the meal was exquisitely prepared, and the ambiance was perfect for our evening out.
This was a very disappointing evening out for the 2 of us. We arrived on time for our reservation, and were seated at the very back of the restaurant at a rectangular table for 4, next to the kitchen . The lighting was unappetizing - mostly stark white light from the kitchen, and no candle ( the rest of the restaurant had candles). The service, although pleasant when he was at our table, was virtually non-existent. We sat for 10 minutes before being asked if we wanted to order - no question of starting with a drink. I asked if we might order a drink first, which we did. For my co-diner, that was the only drink they were offered all evening, despite sitting with an empty glass for most of the main course. We sat with our empty plates for a while until the maître’d came and finally cleared our table.
All in all, not what we were expecting. The food was very good, by the way, but the experience was not.
Good start with the house hummus and red pepper and walnut dips with tandoor bread. As non- New Yorkers, we are not used to paying $6 for bread, but this was worth it. Even better was the squash dumplings - the wrappers were so delicate. The only bump in the meal were the fermented collard greens beneath the falafel - both my wife and I thought the greens were inedible. The server offered to take them back but we wanted to finish the tasty falafel. Finally, the kale and beet salad with crispy chickpeas and labneh was delightful light finish.
Our server surprised us by taking the falafel dish off of our bill.
We didn't try the well reviewed pineapple dessert because you had to order it with the rest of your meal and we didn't know how full we would be and that turned out to be the right call.
