Delicious. Every bite was wonderful. We appreciated all the efforts the team at Nix made to ensure our dining experience was safe. Tables were well spread out and had hand sanitizer on them, and wipes were available outside the toilets to allow you to open doors without touching them.
We were totally awed by the overall experience. From the home made hand sanitizer to the quality of the food and the great non alcoholic beverage choices available, everything was perfect
Amazing food. Took our food allergies very seriously and took great care of us.
The food was incredible, the staff were polite and attentive, and the ambience was calming.
One of the best vegetarian restaurants in NYC and anywhere else.
Great Sunday brunch location and exceptional value for a Michelin-starred venue. Loved the polenta fries and the hummus bowl!
Entrances and lighter dishes were spectacular. Bolder dishes were very good, but it did not impress us. Outstanding service. (Vegan menu)
Excellent restaurant! Plant based great food options. Fun vibe! Had a great bottle of wine too!
Amazing! I tried a lot of vegetarian restaurants but nothing like Nix, dishes are very creative; every plate is a new experience. It ends up being expensive because plates are like tapas size, but well worth it. Living in NYC I rarely repeat a restaurant unless I truly love it, I just always enjoy trying a new place. But Nix is definitely in my short list of “will go back”
Every time I eat here I think, "damn, I could be a vegetarian." This place ruins me because not all vegetarian food is this good. Service is spot on. Go, enjoy, even if it costs a bit extra, worth splurging for the right occasion for sure.
I love both Vedge (Philadelphia) and Fancy Radish (Washington DC), but Nix is even more amazing!
The food was quite average—previous experiences were much better so this was a disappointment. The dishes are very fatty and preparation not at the level expected from Nix.
The restaurant had us wait for 50 minutes. They had given us one drink on the house but they really did not do enough for having us wait by the door for that long.
Great variety in their menu though portion sizes were on the smaller end for the prices given its meant to be a shared meal. Their hummus and dumplings were highlights.
Nix is wonderfully delicious. Though it is entirely vegetarian / vegan, anyone and everyone will enjoy this very tasty food. I've been a few times and every dish is just scrumptious. The only slight downside is when the restaurant is full, it is very loud. Expect to use your outdoor voice to speak to the person(s) you are dining with.
Have been wanting to try Nix for some time now and glad I finally got there. The night we went, it was the restaurant's 4 year anniversary and they served everyone complementary sparkling rose and a dessert. That was a nice touch.
The food was very flavorful and our server helped us navigate ordering with our mix of vegetarians/vegans at the table. We got to try lots of items and all were great. The cauliflower was super tasty as were the dips.
I hope to get back soon.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It is a very approachable vegetarian menu.
We were visiting the city from Chicago and wanted to eat at a great vegetarian/vegan spot. Mix did not disappoint and totally delivered. We shared several dishes, the gnocchi was one of the highlights of the evening.
Fantastic food and friendly relaxed service
Nix is now 4 years old. I have been eating there since shortly after it opened. Its my neighborhood go-to choice for interesting food, great flavors, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Here's to another 4 years!
we had a very inventive, tasty, vegetarian meal.
Delicious inspired vegetarian meals in an inviting lovely atmosphere!! Everything is delicious!
We had a lovely lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. We learned when we were presented with the bill that the lunch was complimentary in light of the restaurant’s anniversary. Amazing, who does that?! We will definitely return.
I had arranged a dinner for my brother and his wife. It was my brother's birthday. The staff at Nix was very helpful and stayed in touch with me to understand what my requirements were. They wrote a note on my behalf and had the table ready with a small choc mousse and the sprinkler and sent me an authorization form for the payment. They created such a wonderful experience for the guests. I am very glad I chose Nix and had such a seamless experience. The team is very responsible. Especially Dana , who works there. I was doing all this from Austin over Phone and everything was perfect. My brother enjoyed the food and said he will go back again to try more.
Nix was just so good!! The food is tho it fully prepared, beautifully presented, and tastes great! The restaurant itself is decorated really well and feels cozy, modern, and fun. We went for brunch but I imagine it would be a serious vibe at night. Good for a casual date.
It was our first time at Nix. What a wonderful, vegetarian and delicious experience. We for sure will be back.
Love the creative touch, and attention to presentation. Not all dishes stand out: the beet salad, the rice pot, and a couple of others did. The hummus and the mushroom galette were disappointing. The dessert (choice of one) was a spectacular presentation for creativity: Tandoor roasted pineapple with whipped topping (aquafaba), drizzled with caramel and nuts. The pineapple flavor was good and perhaps a little overwhelmed by the sweetness of the caramel (i would have preferred that to be a pool of sauce to dip into). Price point is ok at $8- 22. Frankly the smaller dishes were better than the so-called Entree ones (Rice Pot excepted). Four dishes + dessert was too much food for us.... maybe don't order 2 from each category (total of 6) as the server suggests. Service was unpolished and rough, the guy bussing tables pouring water was the BEST and most attentive: 1) Server couldn't remember that we said vegetarian not vegan 2) Wrong Cocktail came to us by a different server. It was for another table. Seconds later the right one came. A mix up at the bar as to destinations. 3) Wrong dish came to us, again a different server and for another table. It's noisy in the back. We like the 2-top tables along the bar or if a larger group, try for the window table
Very delicious but pricey!! I highly recommend the jicama, mushroom with polenta, squash dumplings, egg salad...
Vielen Dank!
As a Vegan living in Manhattan, it’s hard to find a “top shelf” Vegan restaurant anywhere. NYC does have a lot of options but most of them are super casual and not a great choice for date night or special occasions. NIX has a great vib as soon as you walk in the front door. Having a separate Vegan and Vegetarian menu is a nice touch.
My favorites was the cauliflower and the dumplings. The mixed drink menu had some unique concoctions which were good (not great).
Miami and LA seem to have better choices for plant-based diets, there is a lot of room for other restaurant owners to get in the high end game in NYC.
Gnocchi was excellent. Service was attentive but they were very busy and we had to wait about 15 minutes for our table despite having a reservation. Galette was tasty but the crust was a bit overdone.
The food is excellent but I think they are trying to overoptomize their seating. The reservation email clearly stated that if we were 10mn late, our table would be gone. We waited for 35mn beyond the hour of our reservation just to get seated. That is ok if you show up unannounced but a bit long when a proper reservation has been made
It’s so hard to find a memorable vegetarian/vegan meal, but Nix delivered! A fantastic meal from the avocado/mint dip and tandoori bread through to the most amazing roasted pineapple dessert. Mussamun curry with yam, Cauliflower hot buns, & dumplings were all amazing. The wines by the glass were delicious and the atmosphere very energetic. Was definitely crowded and reservation was running about 15 mins late for seating, but made up for it in spades with the food. Highly recommend.
The food was excellent. Service from the waitstaff was efficient and friendly. We were given a free dish. The wait to be seated was long despite a reservation, although it worked to our advantage as one of us was late. The place is cramped and loud. I would go back as the food was delicious.
Loved our table, a cute corner booth perfect for 3 people. We had a good time, apart from our server being a bit clumsy in the handling of one of my guests’ allergies. He asked if we were ready to order after we had the menus for about 5 minutes, and we told him we needed a little more time. When he checked in again with us we had a question about one of the dishes, to see if a substitution was possible. When we began to explain that my guest has multiple allergies, he said “you should have told me before, now this will take even longer.” I explained that we had been narrowing down what dishes we thought were possible contenders. He then retorted that “well a lot of dishes have ingredients that aren’t listed on the menu” to which I replied that we all regularly dine in restaurants and understand that. It was just a bit combative for a Michelin starred restaurant, where one would expect that allergies are taken seriously without making one feel burdensome. And by that point, my guest wasn’t really feeling all that welcome. With that said though, the rest of our dinner was smooth sailing. Once we figured out our order, the food was well paced and delicious, and the support staff and manager were all very warm and hospitable, carefully delivering and clearing plates and responsive to our ordering another cocktail from someone other than our server, something that so often falls through the cracks. I would be back to try more on the menu, but my friend with allergies decisively stated she won’t be back.
Most enjoyable experience. Wait staff attentive, great food
Great, creative food! Highly recommended going with a group of 4 or more so you can try more dishes! The entrees are quite large.
Excellent food, service and experience. Love this place
Every dish was amazing and our server was great. Could not ask for a better NY dining experience. As a plus they have non-alcoholic drinks other than water! Heaven for vegetarians but no carnivores would complain about a meal at Nix.
