About Ninfa's on Navigation
The Original Ninfa's on Navigation
Located on Navigation Boulevard just minutes from the heart of downtown Houston, the Original Ninfa's was all started with Mama Ninfa Laurenzo's creative TexMex recipes. These led to the introduction of fajitas & Mexican cuisine to North America which gained immediate success.
If you're looking for a Houston Mexican restaurant, Ninfa's on Navigation is not only a local icon, having serviced politicians, celebrities & even visiting royalty, their Mexican food is unbeatable. Chef Alex Padilla uses only top quality ingredients, like Mama Ninfa herself did, & fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood like red snapper, jumbo shrimp & more.
Voted Best Margaritas, you can enjoy Ninfaritas on the outdoor deck, dine on the best Mexican dishes & fajitas around and truly enjoy the great restaurant experience.

Ninfa's on Navigation Ratings and Reviews
Three of us had an early dinner before the Opera. Seating was easy, we had a reservation at 5pm but the greeter still messed us up by telling us about the third person "he is already seated." It wasn't a he and she hadn't yet arrived. We were sent wandering around the large restaurant looking, all to no avail. (Along our journey we were subjected to sour plumbing smells in the dining room!) When we reported back to the reservation desk we are placed at a table in an almost empty back room, which was drafty on the rainy, chilly afternoon. My plate, Chiles Rellenos was not very hot, despite the servers warning about the hot plate (he was serving in bare hands anyway.) Similarly, my wife's tacos. Our third had a bowl of soup and that was probably the only hot food on the table. She reported it was excellent. My Chiles Rellenos looked old, reheated, tired, wrinkly, and, as I said, was not hot. Cheese was quite congealed. Service was attentive and water refilled but overall, the dinner was a disappointment. I've had good meals at Ninfa's previously, but this past Saturday night was a dud.
I ordered the mole salmon - i expected a mole sauce so that was disappointing but the dish was properly cooked and tasty.
The tres leche was different than any I’ve had - with the toasted marshmallow fluff - and it was DELICIOUS!! Amazing how that really made an already awesome dessert better.
My friends had the fajitas and it was tasty as always.
The absolute BEST tacos I've ever had! This was my 4th time at Ninfa's, on my second trip to Houston. My wife and I make a point to visit Ninfa's on Navigation, and we're never disappointed. The sauteed shrimp in garlic and butter, the ground beef brisket tacos, and the shredded chicken tacos are all amazing! If you have the chance, make sure to eat at the original, Ninfa's on Navigation!
The original Ninfa's is a must for first time Houston visitors. They've mastered Tex-Mex with some really special dishes. The salmon mole is outstanding, I would highly recommend. The ceviche is fresh and beautiful, and the chiles rellenos are authentic and full of flavor. The atmosphere is wonderful and lively, great for any occasion. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the neighborhood!
Ninfa's on Navigation is quite an exceptional Mexican restaurant with great ambience and wide menu varieties of Mexican cuisine. However, make sure to make a reservation in advance especially on weekends and the crowd can be enormous and will have to be prepared to wait even with pre-booking. We have to wait for 30 minutes for a 6.15pm reservation for our table.
I ordered chicken breast WITHOUT green bell pepper, Tina brought food with bell pepper. I ordered $13.00 margarita, over 3/4 of glass was ALL ice.... I had to emphasize NOT to make
the margarita with ALL ice and hardly any liquor... Customer should not have to audit the food
order, to make certain it is brought to the table accordingly...
This is a great place for texmex when it's not crowded or you have reservations. Keep in mind if you do have a very small party or excessively large party they will cram you in at an uncomfortably small area. Besides that everything is great. Margaritas are always on point and their fajitas always hit the spot. Oh also don't forget the queso.
