About Ninfa's on Navigation
The Original Ninfa's on Navigation
Located on Navigation Boulevard just minutes from the heart of downtown Houston, the Original Ninfa's was all started with Mama Ninfa Laurenzo's creative TexMex recipes. These led to the introduction of fajitas & Mexican cuisine to North America which gained immediate success.
If you're looking for a Houston Mexican restaurant, Ninfa's on Navigation is not only a local icon, having serviced politicians, celebrities & even visiting royalty, their Mexican food is unbeatable. Chef Alex Padilla uses only top quality ingredients, like Mama Ninfa herself did, & fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood like red snapper, jumbo shrimp & more.
Voted Best Margaritas, you can enjoy Ninfaritas on the outdoor deck, dine on the best Mexican dishes & fajitas around and truly enjoy the great restaurant experience.

Ninfa's on Navigation Ratings and Reviews
Returned to Houston for a visit after 10+ year's away with the specific intent of having dinner at the original Ninfa's on Navigation. Larger venue now but the food, and Margaritas, were as great as we remembered. Our waitperson was great in putting together a combination platter of our remembered favorites. Complimentary valet service makes parking a breeze.
The service was disappointing, the server (Kady) brought an "incomplete" order, 3 orders were ready,
the 4th order, which was MINE, was NOT brought. My 3 guests had to wait on my order, I had
to tell them to eat because their food was getting "cold"... Never serve an INCOMPLETE order
to dining guests!!!!!!! We are a complete restaurant guest when the food order was place, the food should be served as a
COMPLETE order collectively. Kady was not as friendly and attentive as our previous visits to Ninfa's on
Navigation..Irrespective of any reason, either high volume or a special event (ASTROS) , perhaps even both reason,
Best customer service and superior customer appreciation must always be a priority for a successful restaurant business, or any other entity for that matter...
The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation is always a treat no matter how far you have to drive. The food is always top quality and more than sufficient quantity. This restaurant is great on all levels. The service is outstanding at all levels with friendly , professional, and efficient production.
Ninfas on Navigation is always fun and their authentic Tex-Mex food is usually great. On this occasion however the poblano peppers in my chile rellenos were way under cooked.....basically raw.....disappointing. Also it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant.....very hot. I'll give them a pass this time because they were very busy with a large loud rowdy Astros baseball crowd. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Service remained excellent though and their staff pleasant and accommodating as usual. Hopefully they will have their AC fixed by my next visit.
Overpriced. Ordered ceviche, came with 4 shrimp and 2 small pieces of fish for $18. The guests with me said that their meals were really good, but double the price of any other restaurant with comparable quality. One person paid $18 for quesadillas. Will not go back, certainly not worth the drive.
My Wife and I think it is among the best Mexican food in the East End, but the proof is our sons who live in Dallas who always require us to eat at least one meal at the original Ninfa's on Navigation when they are in town. Chicken and Beef fajitas for them never varies. They also love the queso.
Simply the best Tex-Mex you can find. Well worth the drive into downtown. Awesome margaritas and the enchiladas and fajitas are outstanding. All the menu items are the real deal. No "tourist" fare here. Excellent service with pleasant ambiance and no worries about traffic or congestion If you have room, the flan is the best i have had.
While we originally intended to order the Houston Restaurants Week menu (but were told Ninfa's wasn't participating in the extended dates), we still enjoyed our anniversary meal here because the food and margaritas are so good it doesn't really matter what you order. We did have an odd experience of the staff insisting someone had a cake delivered to the restaurant for us and basically didn't give us a choice (no one ordered a cake for us - it said happy birthday on it and it was our anniversary). This isn't really the best "special occasion" choice because you can easily get lost in the shuffle of the restaurant and you definitely do not get doted on, reservation or not. But again, food is amazing and worth it.
12 years of eating Mexican food in Houston, these were hands down my favorite fajitas. Fajitas by themselves were packed with flavor. Tortillas are fresh made and it makes a difference. Margaritas very well balanced and packed a punch without tasting liquor, acidic, or triple sec heavy. All things considered, it's earned its reputation.
I have been going to Ninfas as long as I can remember and I was reacquainted when we Went for a birthday party for my grandson with 5 people ,4 being adults, drinking cold beer and great Margaritas. Ambience was great with the noise level being very controlled. We all had different selections off the menu as well as our choices in the adult beverage ( Maragrita's are Great). Service was awesome and the food , as always ,was incredible and fresh. Ninfa's is still a little pricey but very much with the trip when you are talking about a true Houston landmark.
Always great food! Love going here before the theater or other special occasions. We made reservations and were seated promptly. A little noisy in the main dining area. We have sit outside before and enjoyed it- weather permitting. Remains one of our favorites for really good Mexican food!
Recently had dinner here with my future father-in-law and my fiance. Although as a native Houstonian I had been coming here for years, it was fairly new to my fiance and was my future father-in-law's first time. If you're bringing some newbies you have to order the queso flameado - it's nothing like regular queso dip and always impresses . Also, very few places are making fresh tortillas when you walk in the front door. Do your out-of-town guests a favor and make the trip over to Ninfa's on Navigation for the best Tex-Mex in town!
Delicious Mexican food. Tacos al Carbon is the specialty. Margaritas are jet fuel! - $30 a pitcher Fun casual busy place. No longer inexpensive like it was years ago when Mama Ninfa started the place, but still worth the drive and the expense. Don't go with out reservations thru Open Table.
