Ninfa's on Navigation
Located on Navigation Boulevard just minutes from the heart of downtown Houston, the Original Ninfa's was all started with Mama Ninfa Laurenzo's creative TexMex recipes. These led to the introduction of fajitas & Mexican cuisine to North America which gained immediate success.
If you're looking for a Houston Mexican restaurant, Ninfa's on Navigation is not only a local icon, having serviced politicians, celebrities & even visiting royalty, their Mexican food is unbeatable. Chef Alex Padilla uses only top quality ingredients, like Mama Ninfa herself did, & fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood like red snapper, jumbo shrimp & more.
Voted Best Margaritas, you can enjoy Ninfaritas on the outdoor deck, dine on the best Mexican dishes & fajitas around and truly enjoy the great restaurant experience.
or just about any event you can imagine...
Food was awesome as usual
Seating ready when we arrived. The main entrance is next to the kitchen, so you get to see and smell the signature fajitas as you come in!
Guacamole was great, fajitas as good as everyone has reported. All around great meal.
We had a reservation and we were seated right away even though we arrived a little early. The service was excellent and the food lived up to its reputation. Valet parking was an added bonus.
Visited on a busy Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated promptly, near the bar area. The only drawback was that the overflow from the bar put waiting parties standing right next to our table. Not the best situation, but tolerable. Next time, I will ask for outdoor seating. They have a couple of outdoor areas. Had the fajitas and margaritas. They make their own tortillas and they really compliment the seasoning of the meat very well; much better than the tortillas at most other places. The menu is a little pricey, but I would definitely go back.
Vegetarian fajitas are perfect for the cruelty-free diner in your life!
Food was great. The experience was hurt that our fajitas did not come sizzling like the other 20 we saw go by.
Perception. Best food in Houston hands diwn
Ninfa's is consistently delicious. We had an early reservation, and as expected, our service was efficient. We all had tacos al carbon, and they were wonderful. You can't go wrong if you're looking for great Tex-Mex.
Chile Rellenos was delicious. Ernesto, our waiter, was very polite and professional.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a meal that was served faster. Friendly service but only average food and a noisy space.
Always a great restaurant and lots of history. We enjoyed it immensely!
Food was great. Lived up to the hype. Ive been wanting to eat here for a while and it did not disappoint. The service was great at first but once the food came out, it became pretty much non existent. All in all, would definitely come back.
Hadn’t been to Ninfa’s on Navigation for 20+ years but it was just as good as I remembered.
Not as good as the old days, but then neither am I. It is still tasty.
Love the food. My son's favorite. He is from New York and says there is nothing like it up there!
Great Fajitas! my favorite fajitas and queso. Of course, everything I've ever had here was great. A Houston classic. Once you go, you won't be able to stay away!
As usual, food was great. Only criticism is that I feel the staff is rushing us to order and leave so the table can be turned over.
I brought two out of town friends here for some great authentic Mexican food while visiting Houston. It's been YEARS since I've been here and it did not disappoint. Not to mention our waitress captured our hearts. Miss Tina was a complete joy and made our evening so memorable with her jokes, infectious smile and advice on what my friends should order. Everything was great just like I remember it from my childhood.
We never use valet because the one time we did our possessions were stolen. This restaurant is valet only. So we left without eating .
Great experience every time!
Food was acceptable, and ambiance was warm and friendly.
Ninfa's is always a solid place go for Tex-Mex food. I enjoyed my Seafood enchiladas immensely. The drinks are a little weak, but still very flavorful. If you end up getting elotes, make sure you have your phone out to take video in case you like to take fun videos for social media. If you can, try to get I table either in the back and close patio or in the original seating area. It will be much quieter with less traffic going through.
Worst service that we have experienced in over 40 years of dining at this restaurant.
Amazing, authentic Mexican food with fresh ingredients and a traditional touch. Loved the attention to detail in the presentation (try the aguas frescas!), as well as the familiar service and beautiful ambient, which makes you feel like you’re somewhere nice but is not presumptuous.
Had the El Pastor and Pineapple tacos. To die for! The meat melted in your mouth, the pineapple was spicy and juicy! And, the FRESHLY made tortillas. Soooo good. And enough to take home leftovers!
It was my 1st real time to Houston and this was a fantastic place to go. Ninfa’s is on my radar for life!
Great for business dinners with attendees out of state!
My friends and I always go to the original Ninfa's before ball games at Minute Maid Park. It is a fun place for enjoying fantastically good food with good company. The service is fabulous and the food is ready in good time, and hot. A great way to start an enjoyable evening!
It was my first time, I would say I will have to come back. It was a very busy day, Astros game. They did have common Mexican drink like Horchata. We order the mix fajati, it did not come out cold but was not hot and deffently not sizzling
Food was good as per usual, service was slow and we gotten eat alive sitting outside.
This was my first visit to Ninfa's on Navigation. It was my birthday. I loved it!! Our group had a great time and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back!!
Bummer!! Have been going here since I was a kid. Food was terrible. Fajitas (both times...the waiter brought me new beef a second time) were are grizzle (fat). Service blew
Always busy b4 Astros game but service and food are good. This is not the best TexMex in Houston but certainly a fun place to visit because of it's Heritage.
Nothing beats the original Ninfa's for "authentic" texmex. My ONLY criticism is that the flour tortillas are very thin and lardy, instead of soft and fluffy (like Pappasito's). But when you add the free shuttle to and from downtown sporting events that saves on parking (GO ASTROS), this is the perfect place for a pregame meal!
We took a party of nine to Ninfa's for some family birthdays. It is only located .9 miles from Minute Maid Park so we could go from our 11 AM reservation to the afternoon game. Everyone enjoyed their various dishes, and service was friendly and prompt. The table we were seated at was the smallest acceptable for our large group. Since I reserved well in advance, I expected a roomier table. Our tip was large, but the total cost was far less than most of our family birthday meals. Parking was easy since we arrived at opening, but they also offer complimentary valet. The Original Ninfa's is worth the trip.
Food was good but nothing remarkable. The portions are huge and could easily be shared. Service very good. Only complaint is the noise level is high, but its a popular restaurant. Would go back and recommend.
First time at Ninfa’s and what a great restaurant! Great drinks and wonderful food. We will definitely be going back!
Service was pretty good but food was just mediocre. There are other Houston restaurants with better Mexican food. It’s not all it’s hyped up to be.
Waited for someone to come take our drink order for like 10-15 minutes. Finally someone else who was not our waiter took our drink order. Then we requested more chips and salt and they totally forgot. We had to request it again whenever someone eventually returned to our table.
