The ONLY reason the food was of value was because of the 3 Course Restaurant Week deal. I would have NEVER paid the regular prices on their menu. The filet mignon was regularly $45 ... for this deal we got a salad, the filet and a dessert for $35 ... it is a great place but unfortunately, all the restaurants in Wayzata fall victim to ridiculously high prices.
Trying too hard and ending up with mediocre results.
Pot roast with tender but flavorless meat. My wife’s pesto was much better.
Carrot cake should be straight forward, but awful when paired with citrus and dill garnish. What are you thinking? The worst I’ve ever had.
The food was wonderful but the service is really lacking. It’s a shame because there’s so much more that could be done with proper training.
Ordered the Filet $46 bucks, not worth it. It was not good at all. This was our first time and it will be our last.
Great lunch spot-enjoyed the walleye sandwich, service was awesome and nice decor; will be back
Good food, happy hour is probably the best deal. A little expensive most likely driven up due to it being in a hotel and the area. The Brussels sprouts and broccoli were awesome along with my dessert. Everything else was good, but nothing super special hence why the value isn’t stellar
Not a good experience, the servers were slow taking our orders, food was pedestrian (the pot roast was dry and the steelhead trout was mushy) and when a large group came into the bar area, they crowded our table and the management did nothing about it. We move to a new table ourselves after speaking to the hostess but then it took them another 30 min to bring our desserts. Highly disappointed and there was no offer to comp any of our meal items. Will not be going back, sad because the setting was beautiful.
We love ninetwentyfive! Great wine, amazing happy hour, and super reasonable date night promo on Wednesdays. Our server was perhaps a bit busy and service was not as great as usual, but we will definitely return! Would recommend - especially to wine lovers!
Food was good. Overpriced. Quiet night.
Music was outstanding jazz with great sound and ability to enjoy and converse.
Service was beyond outstanding.
Will return and invite others to join us.
Food was good. The restaurant was really nice. However the service was terrible. We went for early brunch to celebrate my birthday and it was not busy. The server barely checked on us, we had to request things like a refill on coffee or water and when ordering simple requests like switching hashbrowns for fruit were simply denied with no explanation. The server didn't try and make this a good experience for us nor put in the effort to make us feel welcome. Unfortunately this ruined our experience and we won't ever be back.
Beautiful setting. Wonderful food.
We were celebrating two birthdays and came for brunch. Had a reservation and had to wait. We were seated in the far back of the restaurant. Live music was way too loud. Our waiter was horrible. Never introduced himself. He barely spoke English and didn’t understand basic questions. He had no idea what a soda/soft drink was! One guest ordered a beer and never got it until we asked another server to bring it. Didn’t bring us plates for appetizers and we had to ask repeatedly for utensils. The third time I asked for utensils he brought me a bottle of hot sauce! I actually had to say fork, knife, spoon...ridiculous !! One guest (birthday celebrant) didn’t get the correct order. We mentioned it several times and she finally got some goat cheese and butter in tiny serving containers ...why, we’re not sure. Hmmmm. For $200 this was a horrible experience for a celebration meal. The best part was they got my sons crispy bacon request correct. So kudos to whoever translated that to the cook.
Horrible Service from check-in to the end. What a shame. On our first visit too.
Service is always a bit slow. When we first arrived there wasn’t anyone at desk. Then two showed up and completely ignored us while they shuffled papers. I finally asked if we were invisible..
had to track down waiter several times for drinks and bill.
Frustrating and embarrassing when you are entertaining guests.
This was for my birthday. Waitress was short with my group from the beginning. Never got part of our meal and our server never returned to check on us until the end, despite asking another server to flag her down. Brussel sprouts finally came out as everyone was paying and were undercooked. Underwhelmed.
Mussels were amazing and the burger was good.
Bad review because our server purposely didn’t ring our happy hour items in at the correct price during the happy hour time frame. When I asked about the price discrepancy, she said “I thought you were having dinner”. She was incredibly rude after I asked. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone after this experience.
We showed up very early to our 1 PM reservation. With our large group, they were still able to accommodate us very quickly. It was father's day and they were very busy. they had live music inside but we requested the patio. The ambiance was phenomenal, we had a corner table overlooking Wayzata.
Now the food:
It was brunch , and with our large group, we had an array of dishes. We started out with the beignets and fried pickles; the beignets were light and fluffy with a sweet jam. The fried pickles.. just YUM. When they first came out I was thrown off by the spear shape, I'm more accustomed to slices but they were definitely something I will come back for. They BYO Omelet was delightfully huge. The lemon ricotta pancakes were sweet and tart and overall better than the pancakes at a nearby restaurant I frequent. The biscuits and gravy was a fun twist, with bacon instead of sausage and cheddar biscuits. Overall the food, service, and ambiance was top notch and will definitely have us coming back.
We had a lovely private booth and the food was outstanding. We had 4 different entrees and each was
Delicious. We always have a lovely time at the Hotel.
Overall we enjoyed our visit. Beautiful place. However, I ordered grapefruit juice but received orange. My coffee cup was cracked and leaking slightly. Both of these issues were corrected. My Eggs Benedict has egg shells in it. Due to first 2 issues, I chose not to return my meal as I didn’t want to seem like “that customer “.
We were here for the second time and the majority of the food was again rather bland. Definitely needs more seasoning and even just a little salt and pepper in the cooking process. The menu selection is OK, but not what you’d expect for an establishment in this location and of this caliber. Also our server wasn’t all that attentive-empty drinks, appetizers were long gone before she took our entree order and even then we had to flag her down to order, and although she was civil and fairly polite, she was a little unfriendly. On the upside the cocktails were great and the food came out pretty promptly once we ordered.
We visited ninetwentyfive for lunch and were bowled over by the quality and presentation of the food. The menu had something for everyone, even my picky teenage daughters. The restaurant was lovely and the ambiance perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Try the carrot cake if it happens to be on the menu. It was out of this world delicious!
This is a nice space with a wonderful porch and is walking distance from the lake. GREAT service and nice bar. Nice cocktails and extensive wine list. This is a chef's restaurant to be certain. Be prepared to pay more for everything. To be fair, this can be the case with many restaurants in that neighborhood especially one that describes itself as upscale.
We were celebrating a friends 96th birthday. It was her first time at ninetwentyfive. Our waiter could not have been kinder or more professional. Thank you. Our food was excellent. I will be back!
Our server seemed disinterested in taking care of us. She was short with us and wasn't very friendly. The older water gentleman was funny and a nice addition to our dinner
Sad to write this review. We have enjoyed 925 very much this past year. Tonight was not the case. We were served a wine that was corked, open too long or simply gone bad. Our wine's taste and aroma pointed to a wine past its prime. Our waitperson removed the glass of wine with no issues. I was later presented with tastes of some options to replace the bad wine which was a good response other than the opening comment that 'if we opened another bottle of the same wine' (the original wine ordered) it would taste the same". Really? I tasted it several times then had my wife taste it. She confirmed my negative opinions about the wine, and we both believed it to be a problem. I refused the samples and indicated I would try something else. I understand this was a stark response but was offended by the wine person's tone of voice. Later I was abruptly presented with the original wine from another bottle and told the person would stop back. It tasted and smelled OK. If I had received this glass first, I would not have had any issues. We ate the appetizer we had ordered and waited for the wine person to return. He never came back even after we requested a visit and our server indicated he would stop back. Quite disappointing. We asked for our tab and went down the street to another restaurant where we had a very nice dinner with great service.
The food was terrible. They were out of a main dish - walleye sandwich. However all our dishes were mediocre, execution and quality of food isnt there. My roast chicken was like leather, brocoolini burnt. Service slow
The space is beautiful and it is a great scene but MPLS has become such a great food city that this will never fly. Too bad because at the end of the day we go to places for good food, not a hop scene.
We decided to go to 925 this past Saturday night because their website stated music on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Sunday Brunch. We were specifically looking for a normal quiet place to have a conversation. I may have missed it on their website but they had a "Beach Party" with a guitarist, microphone and amplifier in the restaurant. The restaurant isn't that big so the sound was loud and bounced off the walls. The music was good, from what you could understand. Maybe a suggestion in a small restaurant is music without a microphone and amplifier. More background versus in your face volume. Just my thoughts as others may like it loud. Otherwise, the food was very good, service was great but I would recommend it with caution, check to see if there is inside music first.
Our guests had some dietary and the staff went the extra mile to accommodate
Great atmosphere, the live music was amazing. Food was fresh, great overall.
Great date night menu on Wednesday evenings. The pot roast is amazing.
This place has potential but the brunch food was limited on flavor and underwhelming. The music was good though!
We loved the Trout appetizer, the fish sandwich and the strawberry salad. All really good! Can't wait to come back!
Good service and cool spot overall. Food par at best however, especially taking the price into consideration. Definitely better choices for food in Wayzata at this price point.
My wife and I had an enjoyable Mother’s Day evening meal here and plan to return.
The food is always fantastic in taste and presentation. Our service was poor, but that usually isn’t the case. Love this place!
We loved celebrating my girlfriend's birthday at ninetwentyfive. Great food, a foodie would love, and a an impressive wine list. I look forward to going when there is music there too, as we are both singers.
Great service and delicious food! Would definitely recommend.
Food was cold. Chef chalked it up to the sauce that goes on top is cold, which oddly would turn the entire meal cold. The wrong soup came out, the server asked how it was but it took us to ask what the soup was to realize that it was wrong. Just too expensive for it to be subpar.
Ninetwentyfive is Wayzata's hidden gem. Each meal we have had over the past year has been excellent. Lately it has improved with more options. Service is always excellent and decor and sound level are fantastic so a group can hear one another. The live music on Tuesdays and Thursdays add another draw that is missing from almost every other dinning option. We would recommend to all.
