I took my wife for a belated Valentine's dinner. It was our first time visiting the restaurant. We started with a couple of the best salads we had ever eaten. She ordered the Paella and a Mojito. I had the lomo and red wine. My wife grew up in Cuba and she said that both the Mojito and the Paella were the best she has ever tasted. My meal was delicious, but I only wish the serving size had been a little larger. If you have a large appetite like me, I would suggest getting an appetizer, salad, main course and desert! The seating was a little crowded and not really private at all, but we got used to it quickly. The service was great and the chef came to our table several times throughout the meal. It was a very nice experience.

Loved the menu with pairing. The total experience was perfect. We would definitely do it again. Our server Genise was great. Overall experience wonderful. We can’t wait to do Sunday brunch.

I took my wife there for Valentines day not knowing it was a pre-arranged menu. Nevertheless we decided to give it a try. There was very little served that either of us liked. Still we were ok with it until they hit us with the $92.00 a plate charge. I can honestly say this is the first time in 70 years I felt robbed by a restaurant. Never again

We went for brunch on Sunday and for the first time I had chicken and waffles. I will never be able to have chicken and waffles anywhere else! The truffle cream on the slightly smoked, lightly fried chicken was amazing. The chicken was moist not greasy. But Wallace made with some kind of honey butter it was light and fluffy. It was served with some type of honey as well. The mix of flavors was heavenly. My husband got the eggs Benedict and said they were the best he’s ever had. It was the familiar combined with the unique made it so special. Service was impeccable. We did eat outside what a beautiful day. Their patio is lovely but I can imagine in the summer that will be very hot. But for now, it was a delightful way to spend an early afternoon in Lakeland. Try the pomegranate mimosas! They won’t disappoint.

Great atmosphere with equally good service. The pulpo and paella are favorites. Portions are perfect for experiencing multiple courses. Wine selections are approachable and well done. Nice job!

Service was very low grade. After we paid our $500 bill, we sat with no water or any offer of if we needed anything else. The price you are paying here for the experience, service is definitely not matched. Was very excited to try this place but unfortunately very disappointed in the experience.

Lakeland gem across from cob & pen. Difficult to get to from a traffic perspective and you really have to look for the sign. Once you find/get to it, it’s a wonderful dining experience. If weather permits I would recommend sitting outside in the beautiful garden setting. Inside seats about 50 diners not including the bar area. Some tables are well lit others not so and can be difficult to see as the lights are dimmed. It also can get loud. Ricky provided fantastic service. He was knowledgeable about the menu and very personable adding to the dining experience. The menu - difficult to choose because it all looks amazing. Everything our party had was perfectly cooked and great tasting. The paella was outstanding, and had perfectly cooked scallops. Steak & wok Lomo. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts! Definitely recommend if you’re in the Lakeland area!

They do such a great job here with the way that their service team works together in a genuine simple way and the food is always good. No the food is always great unique and well done. If you are gluten-free practically everything on this menu Will be an option for you.

Well, when you visit a higher end establishment there are standards you expect to be met and when they aren’t achieved, you feel really ripped off.
First, the hostess was not personable nor was it expressed verbally or with attitude, “Welcome to 1961!” She simply asked if we had reservations and once we said yes and gave our name she said, “right this way” and walked us to our table. A hostess is the first impression and when you are about to drop $75 on a meal, you expect to be greeted with a smile and a “we are so glad to have you with us tonight, right this way.” The first impression was lackluster to say the least.

The server was friendly and knowledgeable, which was a welcomed change of pace for the night just before the disappointment in our meal set in. We ordered the pan seared lomo, which was nothing in the way of extraordinary. It was 4, 1 inch tenderloins tips drenched in a salty soy sauce. The portion size is that of a 4 piece nugget happy meal....speaking of happy meals, they literally topped our $30 plate of food with what looked and tasted like McDonalds French fries. Literally.

In conclusion, this restaurant is aiming to be a 5 star New York restaurant with exponentially high prices, and mediocre originality and extravagantly small portions. In reality, it’s nothing special and quite frankly, Boca Kitchen in Tampa or Arabella’s in Winter Haven blow this place away in flavor, customer service, and atmosphere.
