Not sure what was going on here, but there was no hostess and only one person serving the dining area. Hence, the service was poor, but not entirely the server's fault. My entree arrived barely warm. My wife's meal was satisfactory. No desserts or coffee were offered post meal. And it was unpleasantly noisy. On the whole, a truly forgettable experience.
Food was great, the waitress was very nice. Our group of 4 had the salmon and steak main dishes and everybody enjoyed their meal.
All the food was amazing and fairly priced. Waitress was very good and the venue was beautiful.
This can't really be a restaurant. Took an hour and a half for the last person to get served. Plates came out in waves. Then another hour to pay checks. Ridiculous. Food was good. Panini was brat roll and fatty meat. Ruined my celebration.
My friend had fish and there were still bones in the fish and the chef made an excuse for them. My cooking experience leads me to believe that there is no excuse for bones in the fish if it is properly filleted.
Tremendous service, value, atmosphere and food. Often hotel food is overpriced and bland. THIS is different and worth the trip. I would go back for sure!
Hotel lobby restaurant/bar. Service is very hit-or-miss (at best) with a rotating staff of mostly college students. It’s a fine hotel bar, but really shouldn’t be considered a true restaurant.
We were very pleased with the mother's day brunch. There was plenty of room to move around. The food was delicious. Our guests have some mobility issues but that wasn't a problem in this venue. We would go back again for sure.
It was an amazing brunch for mother’s day. We will definitely be back to try the Easter and mother’s day brunch again !
The Easter brunch was wonderful. Everyone at my table enjoyed it immensely. We will be returning. The staff were very friendly and engaging. Thank you 1910.
Loved it! I was surprised it wasn't busier. I would highly recommend.
Think we must have caught them on a bad night. Steak was well done when ordered at medium. Wife's pork chop was chewy.
They had the best Ribeye I have ever eaten , My wife's walleye was unbelievable .
The service was great I can't wait to return.
Drinks were very good. Dinner was served promptly and was very delicious. Our server Andrew was personable and made our dining experience significantly better.
We waited for over an hour. The food was terrible: cold, not prepared as ordered, and we waited over an hour when we were the only dinners and we had a reservation. However, They did not charge us for the terrible meal after I spoke to the manger.
Open lobby restaurant at Kent State Hotel & Convention Center. Food was excellent. Service was good. Little to no ambience.
Thank you for your review . We hope to see you again soon . We have some great events coming up including our Valentines week promotion of a 3 course dinner Menu for $24.95 per person and our Beetles fest in Kent ; with live music, happy hour pricing , and great beetles themed dishes. To thank you for you review I would also like to offer you complementary appetizers for two on you next visit.
Now our server, Andrew, by far made our dining experience better. The restaurant is off the Kent State Hotel lobby so it’s rather loud with practically no ambiance—a mistake for a date night.
The pirogies appetizer was a good start. The Caesar salad was a bit over dressed and there was no option for anchovies. The cioppino was tasty but had no shrimp in it. My wife said her medium medallions were a bit tough for her liking.
Maybe attention to detail was off because there was a banquet for 80 going on? But Andrew did his best to treat us well.
Second time at this restaurant. First time was during restaurant week and we had good food and acceptable service. This time the service was poor (we had to ask for silverware) and the food was just okay. There are plenty of better choices for dinner in Kent. Too bad- we had hoped that this place would be better. Won't be back.
