The food? In a word: extraordinary. nines American Bistro in Mequon has an inspired new menu with great steaks, outstanding seafood, salads, sandwiches and entrée specials to go with a tasty array of transcendental appetizers.
I was less than impressed with the River Club tonight. The service was adequate at best and the food (we all had fish — two perch and a cod) was fair. We’ve had some great meals here, and maybe this was an off night, but tonight wasn’t impressive. The price was great (under $100 for food and drinks), but the entire meal was lackluster.
Don’t know why it’s not busier than it is. It was very good. We were impressed
This was the worst dinner I’ve ever had. The service was so slow, the waitress goofed up everyone’s dinners, chicken wasn’t cooked. I have never had worse food or service anywhere, when the meal was over they never asked if we wanted dessert just brought the bill and never came back. Terrible!
Was a great meal with great service. Every time I come here the place is empty not quite sure why.
There were five of us and her food was a little mediocre
Great service! I enjoy the food and the environment! Great place to bring children.
Very nice bar and restaurant. Enjoyed the ambiance.
The 9 oz filet mignon for only $36 is a very good value. It was cooked the way I like it being medium, or pink in the middle. The atmosphere was pleasant & quiet on Saturday 9/14/19. Hopefully, more people will try this restaurant.
Four of us had a lovely time at your elegant restaurant - the food delicious, Will was an outstanding waiter and the music beautiful. Have you checked with your staff to encourage marketing ideas to increase your business? We'll be back.
Food and server were both exceptional. Hidden gem of a country club restaurant open to the public:)
Never did get hold of reserv. guy (he was on vacation, I guess) to ask about our seating. Since not a member, I wanted to know what the Sunset Deck was. Never heard back and was surprised that the "deck" was outside and completely casual. This was a birthday party and supposed to be a nice
dinner, etc. We had NO reservations written anywhere so know that we will probably not be back, even though we've been there several times prior to this - in the main dining room. This "special" night ended up a BUST.
It was our first time at Nines restaurant and it was wonderful. Great service, food and decor. We will definitely be back again.
I prefer to go there in the summer and eat out on the deck.
Indoors offers nothing special in my opinion. Food quality is fine but there’s no particular draw compared with other options in the area
Beautiful view of golf course.
Delicious food, beautiful views, and delightful service. We’ll be back!
Ambiance and service was wonderful. The menu is lacking a bit. I felt like a place of this granduer should have more options for vegetarian and gluten free. It's a very basic menu. Playroom was a plus for the kids but I wouldn't return unless they expanded their menu.
This place just cannot seem to get it together.
We have given this place multiple chances and have never received good service, good atmosphere, good food, good prices all at the same time. The employees seem eager to please but are crippled by managements lack of attention to detail, or just plain not caring what happens at this place.
Everything about our experience was SLOW. Walking in, it took literally 10 minutes of us standing at the host desk before we were even acknowledged by anyone. It took 30 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food. Out of 20 tables only 13, including ours, were seated yet we overheard a manager tell another table (who were complaining about the slowness) that he was surprised they were so busy. We both had the fish fry and the food was very good. Sadly, due to the slow service we didn't order dessert. The selections sounded great but after already being there 90 minutes we could not wait again. This was our first visit to Nines and sadly I don't think we'll be back.
Friendly staff. The waitress even did separate checks for our party of 5. I know that is not always done.
We loved the quiet so we could talk. Very nice ambiance. All enjoyed their food. It was Fri. so everyone had some type of fish fry. I will definitely return.
Everyones meal was great. Only complaint is they seemed a bit short staffed and we had a bit of a wait for drinks and food to arrive. I will definitely go back. Nice variety on the menu and there are a few more entries I need to try.
we thought there would be a Sunday buffet which we’ve enjoyed in the past. The brunch was disappointing and not a great value.
One of the few places in Mequon for Sunday brunch. Good service, very attentive server, large mimosas, very nice fruit plate and bakery basket. The food was good but our order took forever to arrive to out table...
Good food and good drinks. Friendly staff that are very helpful with the menu. Overall a fun place to go.
Great wine, great food, great service. Thanks Chef Jeff!
Nice setting overlooking the golf course. My husband's meal of steak and scallops was very good. My steak had very little flavor and hash browns were odd with a steak and were crunchy, but a little greasy. I felt service was slow considering the server did not have that many tables to cover.
Food was good, but waitstaff was inexperienced. Have dined there before with similar experiences.
Very excellent restaurant. Our 6 kids took advantage of the kids' buffet/arcade while my friend and I ate in the dining room. I had the filet, which was done perfectly, and my friend had the salmon, which looked beautiful and she said it tasted great. We both had the French onion soup as appetizers - also delicious.
The food was great with a wide variety of options, steak, pasta, fish tacos, something for everyone. Two friends had the mushroom soup and they said it was some. Veggie risotto, pasta carbonara and the fish tacos were tasty and well prepared. Our server was efficient and friendly.
We requested the outdoor patio for seating. While it was fun watching the kids play in the pool the country western music was blasting right below us and we had a hard time having a conversation. Also, my sister and father requested that they share a fish fry and the waitress came back with dish not split and we asked for an additional plate and she replied "oh, you need another plate?"...a litlle disappointing.
Live music on the Sunset Deck , with stunning views of the sunset and golf course, were accompanied by warm, efficient and friendly service and great food. The new Chef is awesome!
It was our 50th anniversary. Restaurant manager went out of his way to get flowers for us from our children who live in TN. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Children paid for our meal all with the help of manager. Wonderful food. Great view from our table. Wonderful evening.
The food was great, easily the best salmon I have had in the greater Milwaukee area.
Food good service terrible terrible terrible terrible
Overall great experience. Food was very good. Nice view through floor to ceiling large windows overlooking the grounds. Staff and service was great. Nice ambiance from what almost seems days gone by. Nice country club environment.
Some friends and I chose the Nines for a casual night out. There was a band playing and we knew some of the band members. The food was good. We saw a bunch of people that we knew. It had a friendly atmosphere and good service. It was a good casual dining experience.
Great food and wonderful evening...we will be back and tell our friends..
This was our first time at Nine. The restaurant ambiance was nice over looking the golf course. The service was poor at best. The waiter did not know the special of the day. We had ordered a meat and cheese plate and the waiter did not know what meats or cheeses were on the plate. The flat bread was very poor tasting, the bread for the Club sandwich was stale. All in all not a great experience and we found out the chef has been there for 3 weeks. Would suggest that this restaurant look to vastly improve.
