An excellent evening all around.
Service was very slow, but the setting was so charming it didn’t matter much. Food was quite good.
We were surprised to learn it was wine Wednesday, great deal.
Food & service was excellent!
The brunch menu is fabulous! The maple pecan scone and swordfish tacos were incredible! Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable. We always love dining at Nine-Ten!
Such a beautiful experience. Everything was fabulous. You will not be disappointed.
I hadn't heard of this place, but kept seeing it pop up as one of the best in San Diego. The food was amazing, and everyone agreed one of the best meals they've had. Best burger, best duck, best oysters, best lamb, everyone's meal was beyond expectation. The ambiance was lacking though, as it's just kindof a hotel patio setup. But I will be back for the food for sure.
The ambiance, our service, the food and Wednesday's 50% off all bottles of wine came together for having a fabulous 20 yr celebration.
Our first dinner on vacation and it was very good. Glad we came here.
We have eaten here several times, and consider it one of San Diego's best restaurants. The 'Mercy of the Chef' multi-course dinner is excellent. It's not currently on the menu, but is available on request.
Good was very good especially the duck and lamb. The pork belly appetizer was yummy as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the almond cake dessert as well. Great time overall.
We had our anticipated Sunday brunch at the restaurant, and the balcony view was nice. However, the food was merely mediocre. My Egg-Benedict was tepid warm, with heavy sauce that had gone cold. The other dishes we had were on the greasy side. The whole experience at this restaurant (we also had dinner here after reading the rave reviews and wonderful pictures on their website) made us wonder whether the restaurant has changed its chef, and lost its Michelin star status/menu as a result.
We were given rave reviews about this restaurant but it turned out to be a nice restaurant not worth recommending. The dinner menu was uninspiring and the Sunday brunch was just regular hotel restaurant menu. The food was decent but not special.
Best kept little secret in La Jolla. Always great food and service.
Outstanding in every way. We had a gobsmacking experience for dinner, and kept going back for breakfast. The Grande Colonial presentsa gem!
Food was excellent, good variety and very creatively prepared.
Terrific place to celebrate any occasion. Will definitely be back!
Everything was excellent. The food is probably the best in the area. Service was fine. Good attention. Seating on the back balcony was great.
The mushroom soup, burrata salad, and gnocchi were amazing! The Japanese whiskey old fashioned was really tasty.
Brunch. Scone was very dry and tasteless. Eggs, thick bacon good. Had other items we did not try. A small fruit bowl was very good.
Excellent service all the way around. Food was great. A little overpriced, but quality was great.
Wonderful food and service. It’s hard to decide what was better the cacio e pepe, halibut, cauliflower steak, or the desserts! Thank you an amazing evening.
We think the chef at Nine Ten is the best in La Jolla. We eat there often and are never disappointed .
We also appreciate the wine list and think the sommelier is terrific.
Very nice brunch. Food good, waiter outstanding!!
Ecerything was very good! atmosphere, staff, food. dishes were well executed, plated, and tasty. nothing really inventive, but nicely done. definitely recommend 910, and will be back!
Service was disappointing. I took someone there for a birthday lunch. They never acknowledged the birthday even though I made a point of it when I made the reservation, again when we were seated. I was given the check before anyone asked if we cared for desert. I said may we hear the desert options because it was my friends birthday. We decided not to have desert but ordered coffee. The waiter said the coffee was on her a birthday present.
Service was disappointing!
Delicious food, great service and a quiet atmosphere. Great evening out!
From our warm greeting to the impeccable service and the delicious courses, this was a memorable dining experience.
Smaller menu, but food was very good.
This was an exceptional meal. The service was perfect and the food was perfectly prepared. We were there to celebrate my sons birthday and we each had different entrees. Rib eye, lamb, duck, and as specially prepared pasta. Each dish was prepared to perfection. We had no idea that wine in Wednesday’s is half price! And we also had a delicious dessert.
Great dining experience with excellent service! Thank you!!
We have lunch once every month or two. The food is always. high quality as is the service. Parking as for many restaurants downtown is the only aggravation.
Great ambiance and atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. Service and the main course was great, but the dessert was mediocre. Restaurant is about a 5 minute walk, so that was a bonus. Would definitely come back!
In town to celebrate my 60th -looked for great eatery for this special occasion. The evening didn’t disappoint.
Had the most amazing grilled octopus/Lamb Tatar to start
For main course my son and I shared the rib eye -BEST steak I’ve had in awhile-daughter had the mushroom pasta/wife had the cauliflower steak -both delicious
Wine list not extensive and expensive
Great service -waiter appropriately attentive
Will definitely return
We were staying at the hotel but the Waiter was very pretentious and acted rude to our children and double charged us for their fish. Would not return despite the fact that we love Grande Colonial
Celebrated my friend’s birthday. Happy The restaurant was able to make adjustments for plant based diet. Lovely food, venue and service.
Great food and service as always!
Our number one favorite place to eat for dinner snd lunch!!
My favorite is the Liberty Farms Duck Breast entree.
In the past year, we’ve eaten here like 4-5 times… always consistent snd great experience!
A truly spectacular dining experience.
Gracious, knowledgeable service.
Great wine guidance and great food.
The ribeye and cauliflower steaks were exquisite
Celebrated anniversary and was accommodated to be able to sit outdoors at last minute (reservation made for indoors. Food was fabulous and our waiter Chris Russo was outstanding in all respects!
We were a large party celebrating birthdays. We’d been to Nine Ten several times and always found the food to be creative and very good - pricey but worth it. For the most part this experience was the same though there were some service and flavor distractions.
First, the restaurant was not full - many open tables on a Saturday evening at 7pm. The service was good but mechanical. I never felt the server really was enthusiastic about his job. That shows.
The food was almost all excellent. The exception- the appetizer pasta - extremely salty and I had someone taste it, they felt the same. The jerk chicken was also very salty. On the other hand, the scallops, rib eye, lamb, cece pasta, halibut and duck were excellent. Unique, flavorful and worth the price. The oysters with the watermelon melange were truly excellent.
My issue is we spent over $1000 and celebrated two birthdays and they offered no birthday dessert - not even a scoop of ice cream. Also, we brought wine, again, spent more than $1000 and they charged us for 2 bottles for the magnum. No glasses need to be changed, etc and we spent a lot - you’d think they’d have a not charged us for one bottle for the magnum. I consider this poor judgement in behalf of management. When your guest spend $1000+, comp them a dessert or a corkage fee.
Otherwise good and highly recommend. We’ll be back, but we hope they take note on a better customer experience.
