Nijo Sushi Bar & Grill
I would rate a sushi restaurant by its sushi, and it was nothing special. The Kalbi ribs were delicious, as was the udon. Didn't love the sushi and ultimately, you can't be a great sushi restaurant with mediocre sushi.
Can get a little noisy during the busy hours. Great spot, friendly staff, and the kitchen is AMAZING. Trust the chef and order the omakase. Service can be a little on the slow side so don't be in a rush.
When it gets busy the service slows WAY down. Drinks and Food take twice as long as when they are 1/2 full. I love going there and the food is good. they just ned more people on the floor waiting tables.
Great sashimi, sushi and Nabeyaki Udon! And the Happy Hour menu was extensive.
Happy hour was great!
Great Happy Hour. Nice patio. Freindly staff. Good food and drinks.
Great happy hour menu for food and drinks!!
Went to Nijos before a concert, staff was a bit overwhelmed with the crowd but handled it well. We sat and drank/ate for 2.5 hours!!!
Try the patio!
We had a lovely evening sitting on the patio and enjoying sushi. Service was friendly and low key. Sashimi pieces were a little small, but otherwise it was a very good dinner.
The best sushi in Seattle. Hands down. If you like cilantro try the Pier 54. :)
Been here several times in past and loved it but our service was horrible last time and might not go back
Kid friendly sushi and reasonably priced.
Very good service great good great atmosphere. Decent location as well
Came here for dinner while visiting Seattle, arrived during happy hour. The food, service, and prices were all great. The sashimi was very tasty. Nice saki selection. Glad to have found this quality place.
Being a foodie who likes to explore when in new cities, this one looked and sounded promising and being just 1.5 blocks from the waterfront made me hopeful. Unfortunately, I left severely disappointed. The first time I try a new Sushi bar I tend to try the same things so as to make it a level playing field. This time was no exception. I sat at the sushi bar and finally a waitress came over and took a drink order of a draft Sapporo Beer. she came back and asked if I would like to order my dinner. I ordered the Tempura appetizer from the kitchen, an order of o-toro nigiri, and 3 special rolls. Well, the o-toro came but still no beer!! I should have asked for my check and left. My beer finally came. I was only seated 25-30 feet from the tap! The o-toro was good as you might expect (want) it to be and the rolls which arrived as I was picking up my first piece o-toro were good as well. Oh and also the tempura still was in the kitchen. When it came it was good but only prawn and no veggies and the there was no real flavor to the ponzu sauce. Everyone seemed to be out of sync with each other and while they were not busy, the were 3 sushi masters behind the counter and tickets kept flowing out of the machine. I have had better sushi and more professional experiences in locations that are larger and in the middle of the country.
Loved it and will return
Delicious food in a very comfortable atmosphere.
Great sushi and friendly service.
Nijo is a neighborhood favorite and consistently delicious. Service and food is awesome! Shout out to Sharon and Jennifer for being the best!!
We love Nijo. The food and service are the best!
Great selection and quality food. Service was attentive. Will definitely go back soon.
Always a great place to nosh before a game.
Absolute favorite sushi place in Seattle! The quality is consistently stellar, the service is always fabulous, and the selection of rolls is outstanding. I haven't had anything there I didn't like. Nijo is a must-go!
Excellent and authentic meal at great prices. Service was superb. Highly recommended!
Wonderful food and service. Very good value during Happy Hour especially.
Love the location as well! We will return. Our grandchildren even loved it and want to make it a new tradition to stop on their next visit.
Do note they apply a 17% tip for parties of 6 or more before you consider adding 20% to your bill! Oops!
Took over 30 minutes to get our food after ordering.
We LUV Nijo. The food, service, ambiance, drinks ... are perfect every time.
We stopped in during happy hour, and it was pretty wide open and not busy. Took a little too long to get our food,as other people sat after we arrived were eating and drinking before us. Might have been due to training a new staff person. Not a deal breaker.
Great portions, delicious food, good sake menu, great value.
Never go here. My friend has a gluten and vinegar allergy and told the server multiple times and even asked what she could have from the menu. The server told her multiple times she could have the udon noodles. After getting her meal, she confirmed again with the server who advised she checked again that it was safe to eat. 10 mins into the meal the server came back and told her to stop eating it because there was gluten noodles in the dish. They were unable to provide an ingredient list for some odd reason. Not sure how a restaurant can't provide an ingredient list. And if they were unsure they should have said that from the beginning. luckily there was no vinegar in the dish, otherwise my friend would have ended up needing an EpiPen and would have been in the hospital. she did however end up being sick all of the day after and her vacation was ruined. the waitstaff and manager were not understanding and clearly paid no attention to the severity of their mistake. Terrible practice for a restaurant! The rest of our food was not good either. And it took them more than an hour just to get us a bottle of sake in the beginning before all of the gluten drama started. There are much better sushi restaurants in Seattle. this one should be shut down
Go during happy hour only [if you’re on a budget] ! The prices are up there for special rolls, but their regular, simple rolls are affordable. Wait time was kind of long, but staff were friendly and accommodating.
Great lunch date place - can get crowded during peak lunch but not too bad ... food is very good - sashimi done just right .. service is always good, very friendly - be back soon!!
Consistently good food. Sitting outside is great. Bento is good deal for lunch. BUT going inside, it smells like a fish market. A clean sushi restaurant should never smell like old fish... So eat outside and enjoy it.
Food was amazing and great service. Highly recommend
Great food, poor service. Waited 50 minutes before any food was delivered, and the first course never arrived. I think our server was the problem. The table next to us was seated after us but had eaten and paid their bill by the time my salad showed up. Our server never followed up to see why we were sitting there so long without food, we had to flag her down. Disappointing experience.
Bento box lunch!!!
Great stop for eating
Delicious food. We were delighted in the service and quality of sushi.
I've been a fan of Nijo for many years, but our usual sushi rolls just didn't quite work this time. I'm not sure why. I'm sure we'll give it another try some day.
DJ Saturday nights so cool!!! From 9-11pm. Da bomb!!
Came there during lunch. I had a reservation but it took a long time to get our food out. They were busy, however almost two hou
