   Food was very average! I definitely think something has changed as we had been to Nightingale many times! Both waitresses were very robotic, barely had a smile and were there just for the sake of being there. Steak was rare and no one told us that thats the only way the restaurant prepares it- no modifications. We didnt end up having it as it was blue, they took it off our bill but usually if a steak is only cooked 1 way, the restaurant should inform!

   Nightingale is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver, I did find that it seemed disorganized last night though. For the period of time we were there, food that was not ordered by our table got dropped off twice by two different servers. And for our cocktails they were just okay compared to other experiences we have had there previously. For a restaurant that prides itself on its sharing foods, and ever changing cocktail list, I wasn’t wowed by the new flavours at all. We did stick to some of the classic dishes and we are always happy with those! We were also there to celebrate a birthday, specifically the bday person chose this restaurant and it was acknowledged with “happy birthday” and that was it - a dessert or something would have nice. We will be back and hope that some of these wrinkles are ironed out as Nightingale has always had so much potential.

   Everything was outstanding. Such delicious combinations of flavors, delightful small plates to share, fabulous endive salad and fried chicken, we loved it all! Very attentive service as well and such pretty ambiance.

   We sat at one of the Chef's tables (booth) and it was great to watch the kitchen work. Chef was great with answering our questions and it was wonderful seeing all the staff helping each other out. The Sommelier recommended something we would never have tried and it paired so well with the dishes we ordered. Overall, a wonderful night!

   Usually a spot-on experience, this visit was unfortunately a little underwhelming, if only for the service. Service was slow and sporadic. After waiting ten minutes for the server to re-appear to take our orders, we ordered cocktails. Over the course of the next 90 minutes, we shared a bottle of wine, and four plates. Fled before dessert because we were tired of being ignored by our nonchalant, disengaged server, who was more interested in making chit chat at other tables than he was in ensuring all the diners in his section had a consistent service. The good is really good -- each plate was well-balanced and delicious. Portions are generous for sharing (as is intended) and the menu is so varied and deep that pretty much anyone will find several things to try. The wine list is unique and interesting, offering more than just the standard fare.

    Everything we ordered was sensational. Steak, veg, pizza. All yummy. Good portions for sharing. Interesting cocktail selection. Will visit again.
