Nightingale - Minneapolis
I never write reviews but must do so now. I went here with our friends, who tend to roll their eyes at the prospect of being my guinea pigs at new restaurants. I am often disappointed when I try new places and vow never to return. That was not the case here! The food was outstanding and interesting. Whenever the excellent server came to our table we could not stop singing the praises of the food. My friends said I earned 4.75 stars for this pick. I was docked a quarter star for the lack of parking. Despite the inadequate parking, I am going back!
Very good dinner
Dessert was so so
Hosted a birthday dinner at Nightingale and it was a delight. It was our first time at the restaurant and we were very happy with the evening. Prices were reasonable, there were a few vegetarian items and they were able to accommodate gluten free food as well. We wanted to linger over cocktails and the waitperson was patient with us. I was really happy that it felt intimate and lively with most of the tables full but we did not have to shout at each other.
Went for brunch on a Saturday with friends for the second time. Great bottomless mimosas for $10! It was crowded so service reflected that but great food and experience!
It’s such a good ambient. The host on the other hand,...he sat us on the one table close to the door and refused to move us to couple of other open tables with same number of chairs away from the door. (it was rainy and cold). He kept on saying that we needed to book ahead of time which we did. The other tables we asked for were empty for over an hour. Funny how he saved it to these 4 Caucasian males and not the ladies who showed up way earlier and happen to be of different ethnicity. Sad to say the least.
Enjoyed Girl’s dinner out! Food was unique, fresh and very tasty! I’ll be back...
Second Harvest Heartland ‘Plates For Good’
Greeted warmly, wonderful waitstaff. Was thrilled with non gluten menu. Small plates with unique flavors-thought the octopus was wonderful as was the charred corn, chicken pate, roasted mushroom bruschetta.
Large plate of ribs delicately flavored. What was underwhelming were the mussels that were small, almost shriveled and lacking taste and desserts were not thrilling-ginger ? crumble and pot de creme. I was looking forward to the desserts listed on the website but only the pot de creme was offered. Would go back in an instant and try other things. Nice beer, wine, cocktail menu. One person thought the cider was quite good. We parked about 2 1/2 blocks away.
Second time at Nightingale and they never disappoint. Food and bottomless mimosas are both great
Very nice restaurant, It was my first time being there. I went for brunch and it was delicious! The cherry on top was the $10.00 bottomless mimosas. The Waite staff kept my glass full! I’ll be back for brunch and dinner. If you’re smart, you’ll make a reservation. It was packed before 11am!
Always a fun place! Celebrated our anniversary with brunch. Trevor as our server rocked!!!
We had an excellent time at Nightingale. The food was delicious, the host and our server were incredibly kind and helpful, and the restaurant itself was lovely. Looking forward to going again.
Food was mediocre at best. Lobster spaghetti was disappointing. We ordered two orders and both people at the table thought was unmemorable, no pizzazz and lobster was chewy. Maybe we were expecting too much.
The cold avocado cucumber soup was very good but the grilled octopus was another disappointment.
Peach and tomato salad with cottage cheese would have been great but the peach was hard and unfortunately not nearly ripe.
Overall, service was good, food presentation was good, ambiance is great. A little loud at times with music and patrons. I would give it another try but there are just too many other great restaurants in the area.
Nightingale is my favorite place to go for special occasions. The menu is varied and highlights seasonal produce. The food is always executed and presented perfectly. Chef Carrie McCabe-Johnston creates wonderful menus and her staff carries out her vision without fail. I've been in the restaurant business as a cook, baker/pastry chef, owner since 1983 and still am. I do not go out to eat often because I usually take home food from my restaurant and also I am jaded from being in this business for so many years. That's why I so appreciate Nightingale: the front-of-the-house staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, the ambience is A-1 and the food never fails to delight me. My recent meal featured oysters, an heirloom tomato salad with peaches and cottage cheese, eggplant tempura with burrata and seafood gumbo. And I haven't even mentioned prices which are super reasonable. Kudos to Nightingale!
Excellent dinner. Nice variety of both small plates and entrees on the menu, plus good wine list. Service from Ingrid provided perfect pacing.
I love Nightingale for the ambiance and the aesthetic. The food is usually delicious. Sometimes, service can be a toss up. While never outright poor service, there are some of the staff I certainly prefer over others. Overall, I love the place!
Food was creative and tasty, but piecemeal in terms of service, entrees didn't come out at the same time. but a minor issue. Overall worth a visit though. Small plates and snacks are the way to go. Chicken wings were crispy 👍👍👍
I came home and told my husband that every Sunday morning for the rest of my life he can find me at Nightingale!
Food was great but service was kind of slow. Overall would still recommend
Always a great place for dinner and drinks. Fresh, fun menu!
Loved all the small plates for sharing. A diverse, creative menu.
Nightingale is my favorite place for girls brunch, bottomless drink options and great food that's a twist on the standard brunch menu.
Excellent creative food and specialty cocktails in a pleasant room with very good wait staff.
Great cocktails. Nice wine selection. Low key friendly service. Delicious and unusual cheese board. Noise level not so high as to drown out conversation. We would go back.
We went tapas style for our dinner and it was fabulous as always!
Great Happy Hour menu! Excellent service. Nice location.
I usually love nightingale and I have been many times and had nothing but great experience. Today however that was not the case. We got our drinks and then waited 40 minutes before I had to ask our server if I could order...
we also ordered bottomless mimosas and got passed by multiple times while they filled other guests glasses around us. Not sure what was going on this morning because I’ve never had this experience but the service was absolutely awful. Food was great as usual. Sad that this was the experience we had today. Next time instead of jumping immediately to this as my go to brunch spot, I may have to think twice.
This place has always been great. Love the staff, and love the selection of everything. You guys are great!
The food was great. Eva, our server, was fantastic.
Nightingale was a perfect spot for a delicious birthday dinner - our server was knowledgeable about the menu, gave great suggestions, and coursed our meal perfectly. The small plates were perfect to share, the bruschetta on lightly toasted & pillowy bread, and the duck entree a nice size to round out our meal after the starters. The cocktails were delicious and nicely presented. We will definitely be back!
Always a fun place for brunch! Bottomless mimosas are only $10 so this is my go to place to brunch with the girls. The food is good, very hipster in my opinion. Serving sizes seem small, I always feel like I could eat more, but honestly it’s probably the correct size and every where else just has huge portions.
A get together to reconnect w/a business client I hadn’t seen in over a year - Great evening outdoors with fabulous service & great food.
Food was great. Bar seemed to be really backed up for orders of "house wine"...Our server was great - but the bar and kitchen seemed backed up as we had to ask our server several times about the status of different items. She was apologetic and managed to get us what we needed/ordered. Would come back again.
Nice range of food choices. I especislly enjoyed the pickled plate
Best server ever! 5 enthusiastic STARS for Trevor! Entertaining, knowledgeable, attentive. Food recos were spot on. Fun night!
Our server admitted she "forot" about us because it was so slow that she got distracted sweeping. Strange. She was otherwise friendly.
The food was terrific.
My favorite brunch spot in Minneapolis! You can't do wrong with $10 bottomless mimosas.
The space is adorable, and it is conveniently located in Uptown. We had a very pleasant server who was incredibly knowledgable of the food and its contents - very appreciated for someone with food allergies. We were disappointed in two of the dishes we had - we actually sent back the mussels, and we received a new order that was still just okay. The halibut was just okay as well. The cheese plate was delicious, the hanger steak, rabbit pappardelle and scallops were perfection. I would eat here again if invited by friends, but it may not be my first choice.
Enjoyed our brunch only hiccup was sunny side eggs had actually came out basted medium.
Amazing food plus bottomless mimosas! What more could you want?
