Thank you Carlos and Debbie for more than thirty years of truly wonderful evenings. We have had the good fortune to share so many of the most memorable dinners of our lives with you. We reminisced on this last night about where we sat, who we were with, what we ate through anniversaries, birthdays, retirement parties, Christmas eves, wine dinners, business meetings, and just ordinary evenings. No matter the circumstances, it was always beautiful and delicious food matched by gracious and friendly hospitality that we will never forget. We thank you and wish you health and happiness for many years to come.

Sad to see Nieto's go. We've spent so many special occasions there between Carlos & Nietos's. We had a great, last dinner at this wonderful location.
One of Best restaurants on the North Shore. Food is excellent. Owners are there and very friendly. Service is outstanding.
Amazing, as always. I'm so sorry to see it go, will really miss it!
We enjoy Nieto's so much, especially outdoor dining in the summer. We are very sorry to see the restaurant close its doors. However, we look forward to many more great experiences at Cafe Central in Highland Park with Debbie and Carlos.
So sorry that Nieto's is closing end of the month. Hurry up, it's last call.
Excellent staff and welcoming atmosphere. The shortribs are exceptional!
Amazing, as always!
We are sad to see Nieto's is closing. It's a lovely place with fantastic food. It will be missed.
It was a very quaint restaurant. The menu was interesting & had various options without being overwhelming. Large portion sizes.
Celebrated my wife's birthday and had another incredible meal experience. Great menu, nice variety, delicious food at a great value. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all. Very enjoyable, cozy environment.
Ask first if they are having a meeting at dinner time, if so forget it. Most unpleasant & noise level unbearable.
We have been going to Nieto's for a while. During our last visit we really enjoyed the grilled artichokes with a wonderful sauce.
can count on Debbie & Carlos to be consistently good
Good food and excellent service. The Guacamole is as good as any I've had. The service and other patrons are very friendly.
Very mediocre. First order of artichoke hearts were hard with very little meat. Hostess brought out another one and it was exactly the same. I had the seafood salad and the seafood was overcooked, although the dressing was tasty. Service was very slow and one of the entrees was cold. Since we had waited so long for our meal we didn't request another one.
Beautiful restaurant and excellent food. Great place to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries.
Monday night at Nieto's is a real bargain! Half price bottles of wine complement a great list of appetizers. I am particularly fond of the thin tuna carpaccio as well as the scallops. The flatbread provides leftovers for future meals.
We celebrated two 70th birthdays last Saturday at Nieto's. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive and fun. We plan to go back again soon.
We love Nieto's! Such a great spot for informal get-togethers. Nice Ambiance, excellent food, and convenient location. Carlos, Diane and their wonderful staff really make you feel special by personally ensuring you have an enjoyable experience. I would classify it as upscale casual as the menu offers anything from gourmet burgers to salads to delicious entrees. Lucky for us, they offer a children's menu for our picky eaters. If you haven't tried it, you are missing out on a little piece of Highland Park history.
One of our favorite evenings ever! My husbands roasted chicken was done to perfection! The steamed Salmon with vegetables in a bamboo basket was superb!
We loved everything about the ambience, the service and the entire experience.!
We will be back soon:)
We always have a good meal and experience at Nieto's. Because this is a local family owned restaurant, the staff takes extra care in serving customers. The menu is full of variety. Our group had a skirt steak, white fish seafood salad and hamburger and each was properly cooked and generously accompanied with vegetables or potatoes. The chocolate pudding and key lime pie desserts are worth the calories.
Always a good experience. The Kobe beef burger was probably the best burger I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the fish tacos --- again. Because he loves them and can never pass them up. Really, a great local neighborhood experience and very reasonable. Everyone treats you like you are their favorite person, and they were just waiting for you to come back. The attitude is "so glad to see you -- we missed you!"
menu is basic but appeals to all tastes and they are willing to accomodate if you want to change some parts of the choice; portions are large and easy to split. Wine portion was generous and good choice of wine; waitor was pleasant and both owners of restaurant came by to check on us and visit; very pleasant experience and all four of us will return soon; i have recommended nietos to friends; i was there a few years ago and it has kept up its standards and even improved. enjoyed the small scoop of homers ice cream for dessert, it hit the spot.
We celebrated our high school reunion of 40 years. Had a wonderful time!
A totally enjoyable experience from our excellent waiter, I think his name was Miguel, to my fish tacos and my husband's chicken dish. We did not take advantage of Wednesday night's $5 Margaritas but next time we will. My husband did enjoy his Martini.
Nice Fathers Day dinner with my son and one of my grandsons good food and friendly atmosphere. We'll be back.
Service was excellent and the Fish Tacos are an absolute new favorite! Delicious, fun, relaxing evening.
Great comfort food menu.
My wife and I decided to try Nieto's for her birthday. From the reviews, it seemed like a nice restaurant. As reviews said, Debbie is a wonderful hostess. Unfortunately, the evening declined after her greeting. The food was just OK. My wife had a ribeye steak and I had short ribs. We have had better of both. What they called gazpacho was more like cold cream of tomato soup with small bits of celery in it. Our server was nice, but seemed busier elsewhere. He knew the people at the table next to us so he spent a lot of time there. He shook and poured a drink for someone at that table and also brought along a shot glass so that he could take some of the drink for himself. It is rare to find servers take some of a drink from a diner. I had made sure that the restaurant knew we were celebrating my wife's birthday. At most restaurants we have been to, the staff will at least mention it and wish a happy birthday. Nothing. No mention. I was not looking for a free dessert - maybe just a candle in the dessert that we ordered. Nope. We do not mind spending over $100 for dinner (as we did at Nieto's) if the service and food are worth it. This clearly was not. On the way out, Debbie handed us a flyer for $10 off our next meal there. It will not be used.
Wonderful!!!
Excellent, enjoyable dinner. We had a second helping of the table-side-made guacamole -- best anywhere.
Love this place! Great food and fantastic wine selection.
Great !!! Always consistent. Carlos and Debbie get how to treat a guest . Please don't wait for a special occasion . It's a must visit anytime place !!
Staff was friendly and accommodating, food (steak, burgers, lobster ravioli) was very good, and the atmosphere was nice. Just be mindful of the valet parking. Tight spaces and you might end up with a ding. Try and find street parking if you can.
We went to Nieto's for a Mother's Day dinner, and were taken right in on time for our reservation. We were treated with great personal hospitality, as the owner, Debbie, came right over to provide a vase for my mom's flowers. My parents are elderly, and so excellent service makes a big difference. The waiter treated them wonderfully, and bent down to talk so they could be heard.
The menu was large, and what we ordered was prepared beautifully, and was wonderful! Every one of us loved our dishes. Between warm hospitality and outstanding food, it was a great experience, even though crowded for a holiday.
I would go back any time and recommend this highly.
Very Pleasant.
Debbie and staff are so welcoming! Service is attentive and food is delicious. An easy great dinner to share with friends
This was our first time at Nieto's and WOW, did we feel welcomed from the first minute in the door. The owner Debbie, came to our table several times and took the time to get to know us. Our server was amazing, funny and knowledgable! Food was amazing!!
