Nic's On Beverly
Nic’s is founded by a collective of creatives, who run L.A.’s hottest dining destinations and iconic culinary and music festivals, who set out to give Angelenos and visitors alike a great restaurant--that just happens to be plant-based
Nic’s is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Beverly Blvd. that provides an easy environment to work remotely. Serving up lunch items such as wood fired Detroit style pizza, a farro and quinoa bowl, & the Chinois on Beverly salad, a play on a Chinese chicken salad. In the evening, the restaurant is a perfect hideaway to converse over drinks at the bar, which features a must-try cocktail list by Jason Eisner & an exciting wine list curated by Rajat Paar.
Our server was attentive and friendly , the restaurant was spotless and inviting and the food was absolutely AMAZING! Even the non vegans were ordering seconds of everything!! Hope the craziness of Coronavirus is over soon, can’t wait to go back!!
Best brunch ever! Gorgeous atmosphere! Absolutely delicious food and fabulous fun cocktails! Best pancakes I’ve ever had vegan or non vegan! Can’t wait to come back!
The servers were so nice and funny, and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend.
So I have mixed reviews! The place was adorable and I heard amazing things about it but they were definitely short-staffed. We barely saw our waitress and had to flag her down when we did see her. Probably not her fault as she was super busy. The avocado crispy rice came out last after our pizza and Nashville chicken sandwich and we had ordered it first. It was also super sour so we sent it back. The pizza was AMAZING though! The chicken sandwich had very little flavor even with the toppings on it. I would give it another chance for that pizza alone and hope it will be different because I really wanted to love it!
Share plates or order a main, Nic's on Beverly has a tasty plant based menu to suit. Our server was very helpful and made great recs. Don't miss the House Margarita. Outstanding
My family and I really had a wonderful time celebrating my daughter’s birthday.. the staff was so friendly and helpful.. we will definitely come back soon.
Nic's On Beverly was incredible. I've already told so many friends about it and I can't wait to go back. Still thinking about the delicious pancakes. Loved the ambiance and the staff was so friendly. Love you Nic's On Beverly!
Amazing people who remember me from my first visit. They greeted me and were very personable. Great cocktails with vodka and mezcal! The lovely bar is where I like to sit because I enjoy the vibe.
Great drinks, food is always amazing. Service was a bit slower today but overall worth the wait. A favorite.
Really nice place ! Delicious food !! And excellent service from the team !
Delicious vegan food, highly recommend
Amazing food! The staff were all so wonderful, great ambience, will definitely be back!
We had an AMAZING experience here! reservations were a breeze...the restaurant is beautiful and lively. the staff was super friendly and nice andddd AMAZING FOOD! this is one of our new favorite restaurants.
Not sure why the hostess thought it was more noisy outside on the patio. Not sure why she also thought my reservations was for two people when I can see it on the screen it’s for four. I pushed for outdoors because it was obviously more quiet. We got the table closest to the back door entrance which is ok ... but the door design has large gaps which allowed the cars’ head lights to hit passed the holes and on to our faces when a car pulled out of the parking lot which is not acceptable.
Great food! Expensive cocktails.
Nic's is a great plant-based restaurant that anyone would love.
Amazing ALL AROUND!!!!
Bathroom broke so they closed early :(
I’d like to start by saying that the service we received by our actual waiter was great, and I have zero complaints about him. However, I really did not like how myself and my family were treated by who I believe was the manager?
We showed up on time for our 6:30 reservation and were told it would be a 15 minute wait, then 30, then 45. After a member in my party expressed concern about this, we were seated after maybe waiting 25 minutes—not that huge of a deal.
My real issue is the rudeness / sarcasm from the manager, which came after he ran into me quite hard—Of course it was an accident, as he wasn’t paying attention to the fact that I was standing right behind him. I felt like I was shoved quite hard and it honestly kind of hurt. I received a rushed ‘sorry’ and nothing else.
In regards to the sarcasm, the same manager came by to our group with the iPad and it seemed like he was checking us in again even though he had just checked us in a bit earlier. I assumed maybe he had forgotten since it was super busy, so when I nicely said ‘I believe we’ve been checked in already’, he responds with ‘well you’re still standing, aren’t you?’ How is that response helpful or necessary?
This whole experience rubbed me the wrong way and I feel like this isn’t how you treat guests, especially at a more expensive restaurant.
I would like to add that we did receive 20% off due to the wait for our reservation, which I genuinely appreciate. However, I won’t be returning to Nic’s as these interactions turned me off from ever returning.
Food and waitstaff experience was excellent! This place is kind of weird with a sign at the front door to see the staff across the room to be seated. Ok that’s fine... what was weird was getting engaged by the hosts from across the room while walking to the back. Also I think the first question asked of me was “How can I help you” called across the room - I felt like that was something that would be said to a solicitor. How about “welcome! Come on in?” It just didn’t feel very friendly, more so lazy and kind of rude to any customers seated in the bar area who have to listen to the back and forth banter. Would be better to put a host by the front door or wait for customers to get to the back of the room (by following the front door directions) and then start the conversation. My two cents!
Great food! I would highly recommend to all plant based foodies.
The food was excellent. Not a huge menu, but after eating I can see why. I'd rather have a smaller menu with excellent food than a large menu with average dishes. Their French onion soup is the best I ever had! A GREAT vegan place for lounging or a nice date. The service was very good as well! Definitely coming back
Atmosphere is beautiful, cocktails are great too! The food is just very heavy, if you like heavy comfort foods that taste like the real deal then thi place is for you! I just wish they had some lighter options too, cause clearly they know how to cook!
I originally posted a negative review on Nic's on Jan 19th. Immediately after I posted my review, I was contacted by Nic's Marketing Director Janette, who offered to make my next visit a positive one. And she also informed and thanked me, that due to my previous negative review, they had purchased blankets for the courtyard...yay! So on Feb 16th, my husband, mother and I, had dinner at Nic's and thanks to Janette, our experience was the complete opposite of our previous one! Firstly, she made sure we got a great table in the courtyard where it wasn't too loud. Our servers were all very attentive and pleasant. All our dishes were exceptional both in flavor and temperature. Unfortunately, the bartenders were slammed so our drinks took a long time each time we ordered - they definitely could use an extra bartender - that said, the drinks were still very tasty. Overall, our experience this time at Nic's was excellent and largely due to Janette and her charming, friendly, and attentive service. We can highly recommend dining at Nic's and will definitely be returning!
The food and service was great
Hands down my favorite vegan restaurant. I go 2 to 3 times a month anytime from brunch through dinner, food and service has been consistent and top notch every time.
Wish it was more apparent that it’d be a prix fixe menu. The food wasn’t extraordinary; I wish I’d had a chance to taste the regular dinner menu.
Wasn’t told Valentines Day would have a pre-fixe menu.
Was not aware ahead of time of prefix valentines menu. Food was cold. The portions are so small. One tiny fried rice ball. A slice of cauliflower. Some dip and pita. All things I can order at any average vegan restaurant that’s not 55 dollars a person. Left hungry. We went and got dumplings across the street after. Would not recommend.
We went on Valentines Day for dinner. The food was excellent and we loved the look of the place. They were just a tad over the top checking on us... it felt a little invasive, but better than not attentive at all. We’ll be back for sure!
Best Vegan Valentines dinner I've ever had. Will need to come back for the regular menu soon!
Best place in LA for plant-based (vegan) food.
Overall I was disappointed however, I will go back to try their dinner menu. I expected more attentive, happy service over all and out of 4 dishes I didn’t fall in love with any of them. The pancakes were good however, it needed notifications like, butter (a different kind that they had cause, it didn’t taste like anything) syrup option request - then I would eat them again. They tasted like a funnel cake. The falafel sliders were good but I felt they were missing something .. salt or onion or a special sauce? The onion soup was RICH and extremely flavorful and salty in a bad way. It was inedible. Those Gratin potato's were OK. Definitely not what everyone said. I would never order them again. Overall I felt the food was kinda bland and needed salt or spicy or something! Except that onion soup... it was too much sadly.
A beautiful space with lots of atmosphere and interesting people. Good brunch menu, always appreciative of all-vegan options. Lovely experience, nice cocktails and friendly service. Will return to try other dishes!
Second time eating here and definitely the last. First was a nice experience but this was pretty atrocious. Poor service. After placing an order we were informed 20 mins later that they had actually run out of Pizza dough and we needed to change our order. Numerous items were unavailable and the waiter did a pretty poor job of making things right.
The food was absolutely outstanding!! There were so many options to choose from and all of them were absolutely amazing. We tried to the mushroom risotto and wow it was out of this world. We also tried the French onion soup and it was so so tasty. The value was really good for the price and amount of food. We will defiantly be going back.
Service was great!
Food was AWESOME!!!
Acoustic at this place does not exist.
It is kinda sad that people invest in such a beautiful place but with ZERO soundproofing.
A busy Friday night, is so loud, to a point where I needed to shout in order to speak.
Maybe it is a great vibe when it’s not busy, or when you sit outside...
Soundproofing is a MUST upgrade in order this place to be perfect.
Other than that, everything else was 100%
We had the mushroom tempura, falafel sliders and chicken sandwich with french fries. The food was very tasty, specially the falafel sliders. The fries were a bit too salty. But the main problem is that the food felt heavy and we had a terrible long digestion afterwards.
I usually love nics!! But the service was so bad this time and I have brought guests from london that I was entertaining and they weren’t impressed :(
Everything exceeded expectations. We will be back real soon to try the dinner menu.
