With ingredients sourced from the waters of the Lowcountry and a curated selection of the country’s most coveted raw oysters, French Master Chef Nico Romo offers a fresh take on seafood for Charleston's iconic Shem Creek. Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: Lyon-born chef Nico Romo is the youngest-ever US member of The French Culinary Academy, and his flair for French cuisine shows in the top-notch dishes at this cheery indoor-outdoor seafood bistro. Think wood-fired escargots with Provençal butter and flounder meunière. Of course, it being an oyster destination, raw-bar fanatics have plenty of platters and preparations to choose from, as well. First time at Nico's. We had the oysters and they were good, not excellent. We had the mussels in a garlic/crea, broth. The mussels were good but the broth was tastelss, we had to ask for extr fresh garic and lemon juice to make it palatable. The house salad was decent but it had sugar in the dressing and was too sweet for us. Drinks were good, unfortunately we noticed upon return to our hotel we were charged for 2 extra glasses of wine. Overal all we would return onlyh on a Monday night when they have half off on oysters.

Always great food, drinks, and service at Nico's! We live on DI, but feel like Nico's is one of our favorite neighborhood gems.

Great place for early dinning - not a lot of noise which is nice when you have family with hearing struggles or selective hearing. Food is good & restaurant is very clean.

Greeted warmly at the door - much appreciated. We’ve been to Nico five times and this experience was fine - not great - not poor. +Service - the waiter was warm, friendly and attentive although our food was late getting to us. That was odd to me. +Food - The entree bouillabaisse came in a small cast-iron bowl about 7 inches in diameter. For an entrée, I found this totally offensive for the price. The mussel appetizer came in the same vessel. 🙄 The drinks were just OK as well. Not great, not horrible just very run of the mill. +Value - Not great, not horrible just very run-of-the-mill. to be honest this point right here was really annoying to me and I will not make Nicco a go to restaurant.

Thank you for your feedback Karla. I'm happy the service and greeting were to your liking and apologize the rest was run-of-the-mill. The cast irons do serve many purposes in our restaurant as over half of our menu is cooked in a wood fired oven. The diameter of your 7" dish is misleading as when filled 3/4 of the way is over 3 1/2 cups of liquid, not to mention the actual ingredients, you'd be surprised what we can fit in those dishes. Please do let us know while you are here if there is anything we can fix, we are happy to make any dish to suit you, even serving it in a different dish if you'd like.

Warmly greeted and taken to our booth. Our server Kallie was excellent , professional and attentive. Ordered wine and oysters. Excellent presentation and taste. Fresh bread just out the oven . Placed our main course order . Arrived and it was wonderful. Finished with desert, cream brûlée . Excellent. Celebrating a birthday. A really nice evening!

We sat at the raw bar and had a selection of fresh oysters with a nice selection of wine. Salad was very good as was the fish stew. Our server was attentive and professional. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
