I have ate here before and love the restaurant. This visit unfortunately did not meet previous visits and it was the first time I got sat in one of the center row of tables on the side with the chefs bar. The hostess had to instruct my date on how to walk around to the other side because the tables were so close together you couldn’t walk between them. The people sitting next to us were so close I couldn’t escape their conversation and felt like I could barely talk myself since tables on both sides of us were so close. I could literally reach over and eat something off their plate that’s how close they were. The entire setup reminded me of movies where they show a line of two person tables next to each other for speed dating. I can definitely say if I ever visit again and the hostess tries sitting me there again, I would walk right out and go to a different restaurant.

Innovative menu with a lot of interesting combinations of ingredients. Taste is overall wonderful - Delicious and fresh (on raw fish I ordered, for example). We also got the chance to sit at Chef's counter and see how some of the appetizers were made. In fact we were much more impressed by some of the appetizers on both how they look and taste (such as the octopus) rather than the entree itself:) Dessert was also impressive. Overall this restaurant has potential to become a Michelin.

Great experience!

Came here for a friends birthday for a party of 7. Ended up only being 3 people and they accommodated very well and seated us in a very nice window seat with a good view of the restaurant.

Food was good, pasta was very fresh and the poached eggs were silky smooth.

Dessert was very floral and went down easy.

Would recommend to anyone!

Had a great evening as expected on a Friday night. Recommend arriving early for your reservation to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar. It's a beautiful space and offset from the regular dining area. Food and service were both fabulous.

Four friends gathered for a evening of catching up and we all enjoyed every dish we had- octopus, brussel sprouts, lobster spaghetti, chicken, and the desserts!!! Highly recommend dining here.

I’ve eaten here many times but this was my last. It started off really rough. The hostess told me my business partner had already checked in and was waiting in the bar. She said our table would be a few minutes so I asked if we could wait for our table in the bar. Of course. Well, we go back about 25 minutes later to check on our table and she says they gave our table away! “She texted us.” Hmmm...that would have been nice to know it was to be a text, not everyone is constantly attached to their phone when a human is sitting in front of them PLUS they knew where we were located! Unbelievable! We waited another 10 minutes for what was a lousy table right at the entrance. Let’s just say it was an epic and amateurish fail on their part. The lobster pasta was the highlight dish and our server was helpful. The pace of the courses was way off. I won’t be back. I’m bummed we spent our evening here when we had so many other options.

Having sat at the chef’s table about a year ago I was excited to bring an important client to Nico Osteria for dinner.

We arrived early, then waited 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The table was situated between the bussing station and the kitchen entrance: noisy and busy. The meals were delivered 45 minutes after we ordered. No explanation of the delay was offered until we asked. While the waiter apologized and offered a gratis snack, waiting an hour after your reservation time to eat is a bit much on a weeknight.

My business client was happy with the lobster pasta and I enjoyed the stuffed pappardelle, though served lukewarm. The food was as good as I recalled, though not worth the wait.

Food was fair at best. Extremely low value for price: examples include dover sole ( it was flounder $59,) lobster spaghetti was disgraceful ( my son and husband left spaghetti untouched,) branzino was ok; extremely long wait to be served, both first and second courses, waited for all seven entrees to arrive at least 10 min from first to last. We are not coming back!

The Brussels sprouts bruschetta and rigatoni Bolongnese were superb. The branzino was heavily pitched and a beautiful plate, but only average in taste.iur server was all sales up front but short on checking back, refilling wines, and the dessert took over 20 mins to arrive. There was a bussing staffer who was particularly gracious. We wished he were our server. Great conversations with fellow diners (hard to miss them as tables are lined up side by side). We enjoyed the restaurant and would eat there again, but maybe sit at the bar to control the timing/service better.

Lunched at Nico on a very crowded Saturday afternoon; menu was weighted toward brunch items, but not feeling like brunch food, we both enjoyed the slightly spicy minestrone soup, bruschetta with Brussels sprouts and salad with lovely grilled shrimp. All were very nicely prepared. Service was good, considering the place was jammed, and we received our food in a timely manner. I think there are better places to lunch in the Gold Coast area, but Nico is a trendy option and it's worth experiencing.

I’ve been here many times. Food is always pretty good, cocktails are great, and ambiance is nice. My only complaint is that the hostesses always seem a little unfriendly. I know it can get busy but it’s a noticeable thing for someone like me who dines out frequently at many different establishments - it’s what makes the difference when choosing between 2 equally good restaurants. I thought it was just me but I brought a friend here for the first time and he gave me the same feedback.

The food was really good but I wish the portions were bigger!! Our server was pretty attentive, just had to call him over a few times when we were ready to order something new. This restaurant has a great vibe and the inside is super cool. It feels like they're still sort of figuring some things out as they are only four years old. But they have great potential.

We had a reservation at 12:15, arrived early and was told we would have to wait until until 12:15. When we were still waiting at 12:30 & asked about our table we were told that they were waiting for people to leave, even though there were empty tables all around. We were finally seated when one of the owners arrived with his family and realized we were waiting and started cleaning tables himself! We were finally seated at 12:45 and expected exceptional food & service. We were disappointed when we were told that they had run out of some menu items in addition to my food being served well after the rest of my family and it was cold! Definitely not worth the wait or the amount of money, waiter was nice but didn’t apologize just gave me a free cocktail??

Wonderful Easter brunch with family. My mother and husband cannot stop talking about it. Service was impeccable, friendly, fun, never pushy. Food choices were classy and comforting. Interesting enough for the foodies in my group yet with all the comforts of mom's cooking. Definitely worth a return trip for lunch or dinner. Can't wait!

We decided to try Nico Osteria for the first time for Easter Brunch. We were so excited to try the restaurant and have heard so many good things. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We waited 45 minutes past our reservation time for our table. In the meantime we saw several guests who didn't have a reservation but friends with the restaurant employees get sat before us. Apparently, this is one of those restaurant where you need to be "KNOWN" in order to receive service. Being first timers we were left to wait. When we were sat, we waited forever for service while again we saw other people receive quick service and receive free food from the restaurant for their short wait. I really respect Chef Kahan and One Off Hospitality group. We love all of their restaurants, but this one missed the mark. I've never been so disappointed with a restaurant and how they treated their customers. My husband and I have worked in the restaurant industry for more than 20 years and it was appalling to see how the staff treated first time customers like us. We saw this happen with a few other tables as well. Apparently Nico Osteria is only for the regular customers or politicians who don't make reservations. If you fall outside of those groups, don't waste your time.

Went to Nico on a Saturday night at 7:15. They were sold out of oysters and gluten-free pasta (which was the reason we chose to go there), so that was pretty disappointing especially for it being so early in the night. Aside from that, everything was great. The mezcal drink was really good. Our server was amazing, I forget his name, but he was phenomenal and made us feel very welcomed. I started out with the chef's selection from the raw bar which I highly recommend, I think one order is enough for two people to try. The whole fish was delicious as well. Overall, our trip was great, aside from the gluten-free pasta being sold out, because of that I'm not sure I'd make a reservation there again.

Had a dinner reservation at this place at 745pm on a Friday night and the service and food was terrible. We sat on on counter seats exactly as reserve, didn’t have any server come back to welcome and get our drink orders until 20mins later!!! The first round of cocktails were brought back to us 30mins later!!! We were disappointed of the very slow service but we wanted to give it a try. Ordered 2 apps, 2 dinners and a side - receive the first app in 25mins which was very disappointing. The second app and 1 dinner entree came more than an hour later!!! After another 30mins of waiting for the other dinner entree so my bf can eat, the sever told us it’s not done yet because she thought we won’t need it yet since we have the pasta!!! We were like what???? We ordered 2 dinner entree separately so how can she decide we would share one entree first then eat the next one!! At this point we decided to just leave, not finish dinner and asked for our bill. You think it they would do it right away since they know we were clearly upset already - we’ll guess what still waited for a long time for the bill!! The worst place that we have been to!!!

Food and service were amazing overall. The oyster mushroom salad was a delicious starter. Great combination of earthy flavors. The whole branzino was expertly prepared and the carrot “nest” was a pretty and tasty side. The twice baked croissant for dessert was somewhat less successful. Good flavors but the croissant was a little hard and difficult to eat. I ended up using my hands.

The food was very good. The service was fair at best. Ordered a bottle of wine and it took at least 20-25 minutes to arrive. Asked for bread service (excellent bread)which also took a long time to show up.
The booth type tables are surrounded by bench seats that are too low to be at a comfortable height so we moved to a conventional table with chairs.
