Our dinner at Nico was delicious. Waiter and bartender are friendly and professional. They forgot a side sauce but brought it promptly with apologies.
The service was exceptionally good!!!! outstanding is a better word. we were delighted that we came.
Nico is the on-site restaurant at NJPAC. They offered a pre-fix menu for the evening we were there. We intentionally ordered items that would be easy prep, but were disappointed at every stage. It literally took 30 minutes for the first course, soup! And they only brought it out after I got up from the table and walked over to a manager to inquire. That’s how inattentive the service was. The soup was tasty; the entrees disappointing and dessert just so-so. Wine list is short, uninteresting and overpriced. Ambiance is warm although slightly loud. It’s convenient- only steps away from the show- but not a well-managed restaurant.
Service was very slow - had to wait 24 minutes for starters of soup and salad - and the food no better than OK. Very overpriced for what it offers. Noisy. Been there, done that, never again.
So convenient when attending event at NJPAC.
Liked the "shareables" addition.
Service was rather erratic and less efficient than usual.
Everything was great until time for dessert. Through no fault of our server, it took forever to get our simple dessert order. In spite of this we were pleasantly surprised and would eat here again.
Choose Nico on a performance night at NJPAC. 3 course prix fixe so not all menu items available but still a good selection. Chicken entree a bit dry but salmon cooked exactly as ordered and pleased with dish. Our server was very attentive and there was plenty of staff to keep water glasses filled and food coming to tables without feeling rushed. Finished with plenty of time to be seated for the show. Would try again on a night with complete menu. Also an attractive bar that looks worth a visit.
Our dinner before Wait don't tell was really good. This was our first time here, and we complimented the manager how everyone was friendly and our waitress was outstanding. We are sold!
A nice restaurant to come to. Friendly people. Great value, something hard to find in Newark
Our meeting/lunch at Nicos today. The staff was attentive, our food came out fast and all of us liked the food. Definitely will recommend to our friends at Panasonic.
First time coming for Dinner. Came in with a few people to celebrate a promotion. Server was amazing and knowledgeable. Food was also great. Kudos to Nico for a good time!
Food was great. Our waitress, Maya, gave us amazing service and recommendations. Staff was friendly including the manager. We will be back!
Our lunch was great. Food came out promptly and was tasty. Fast and efficient service.
Very good, we loved the tomato salad and the filet mignon. Our waitress was pleasant and accommodating to my wife dietary restrictions.
Everything was great except the noise outside. There was some event going on outside and this made it much too noisy for a relaxing dinner.
The venue has a nice atmosphere. The food was very disappointing. We were there to see Gladys Knight and for convenience we went to Nico. I will not be returning. To be safe, it was a party of four, we ordered the cheese burger and the pasta bolognese. It just was not the least bit enjoyable. I don’t know was it was but it was not beef for the burger. The waitress was wonderful can’t blame her. She was on point and we made sure her tip did not reflect the fact that we did not enjoy our Meal. We will not be returning.
We had a great performance dinner before Gladys Knight. We were late but were accommodated graciously by the hostess, and dinner and service was lovely.
The Restaurant did a great job in serving us a nice three course dinner and got us out on time. Overall a great establishment. Thank you
My guest cancelled, so got to dine alone and catch up on some work. My server was courteous and got my salmon just the way I asked for.
We will be back for a show. Everything was good. I will definitely recommend this to my friends.
I loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is chic and has the ambiance with an upscale feel. The food that I had was delicious and service was amazing. Nice wine selection and variety of foods. My only two complaints are the following: when we arrived with reservations our table was not ready and the restaurant was completely empty. The table next to us was dirty and nobody was there to eat at the table. It had what appeared old crumbs on it and was unkept. They promptly cleaned it. Also one of my guest food was not made correctly so they had to substitute her mash potatoes for macaroni and cheese. She was not pleased. However other than that I enjoyed the restaurant and I would recommend
My friend and I enjoy this place. We find it consistent and great for business meetings
We love this restaurant. Bartenders are really friendly and make great cocktails that we like. Floor service is friendly and our server recommended the Heirloom Salad and the new Tacos. She seemed to know the menu.
Server was very helpful and attentive very knowledgeable
Had great first visit. Definitely will visit again.
Only issue was one of the meals brought out was incorrect, but was just brought to wrong table. Correct meal was brought out in minutes. Food was outstanding as well was the service.
On show nights at NJPAC they reduce to a “snacks” menu at 6:30 PM. There is no forewarning of this when you make reservations. They also ran out of bread and neglected to tell us. We sat waiting for our bread and salad for over 20 minutes. We weren’t informed that they were out of bread until I asked. The service was subpar to say the least.
Server was good, but I ordered Gannocci there was more sauce than pasta very little for the money. Then I ordered another piece of bread because I was still hungry and you ran out of bread.
Menu online was not menu that they had their. Crabcakes were frozen already made patties that were microwaved. What restaurant does not give atleast bread. Ask server several times for stuff that she didn't bring to table. Just overall bad
My entree was inedible....
One of the best dining experience and we dine out often. Such friendly service, meals were served hot and were delicious.
We enjoyed our meals. Our waitress had the best smile ever. She was super sweet.
Calamari and Avocado toast were delicious. Love to come here for lunch with co workers. Service was exceptional. Did not have to ask for anything.
Enjoyed a quiet lunch at Nico. My colleagues and I enjoyed our meals. Service was good too.
I enjoy Nico for business lunches. I usually have a good experience. This time, service was slow. It took a long time and several requests just to get the soup I ordered. The soup and the entree were delicious.
We love dining here. Our meals were well prepared . Friendly service.
Just had a great meal at Nico. Food to service was excellent.
The restaurant is a great location to eat or have a drink before a show at NJPAC. My reservation was at 6pm, they wouldn’t serve anyone until the whole party was there, we ordered at 6:30pm and our food came at 7:20pm and the show started at 7:30pm. Poor service and food had to be sent back.
It would be great to be able to have a great meal, with options on show nights but there is often a pre fixed menu with awful options. They try to hard to be upscale, but without the prefixed menu options to support it. 90% of the time I’m disappointed. Options at the bar are ok but the dining room lacks in options and taste. It’s just OK.
Maize restaurant at the Robert Treat hotel has been my go to lately...delicious food, reasonably priced and options. I tried NICO recently, only to be reminded why I do not do dinner on show nights! NICO...stop trying to be super super fancy and make some good dinners!
My sister & I had dinner before the Iyanla show. First, the service team was really good to us ... Teamwork 🙌🏾, Attentive, Professional.
The food was great as well! For Starters, we ordered the Cheese Plate with jam/fresh fruit & the kale ceaser salad. (that Salad was Excellent! I could have eaten 2 of them) From the Bar, my sister ordered a lemon drop & I ordered a white sangria. The drinks were well balanced and delicious. For the Entrees, My sister had the gnocchi & I had the salmon. very good! For Desserts, My sister had the peach bread pudding with vanilla ice cream & I had triple chocolate cake. IMO... the 🍑 bread pudding is SO SO SO GOOD! 😋 YUMMY!
