Nico Heirloom Kitchen
Great low light vibe. Service was good. Bread was fantastic. Food wasn’t anything special. It was good but not as great as I would expect from a small venue as this.
We arrived a few minutes early and they let us choose if we wanted to sit inside or outside. It was a beautiful evening so we chose outside. Everyone acknowledged our Anniversary and said Happy Anniversary.
The service was great, the food was fabulous, we will be back. It was a wonderful evening.
Great meal as always. The Staff is very friendly and the meal was fantastic.
We love going to Nico! Love the ambiance and vibe. Service is amazing and the house made pasta is so good! A higher end feel without the super high end prices. Such a great spot in Gilbert!
Very nice place. Service was great and the food was really good.
Shrimp and grits made a great meal
Overall good experience, great wine list, food is fair, my mussels were overcooked.
We have dined at Nico Heirloom Kitchen twice and both times my husband and I remarked that it is the best place for a nice dinner in Downtown Gilbert. There are other places with great food but Nico is the best place for ambiance, AMAZING dishes and good value. Plus they take reservations - no 1.5 hour wait just for a pizza or a burger!
Food was fantastic. Octopus was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The short ribs were tender and covered in a delicious sauce. We even got a free dessert for both birthdays at the table!
Raw chicken, raw beef. Not great.
The Octopus App was outstanding but sparse, The shrimp grits was below average, the short ribs were good. Wine selection fair service was good
Ambiance good. Food fair. Price expensive for what it is. Service good.
Friendly, attentive staff, but a noisy dining room, bad chairs, and fairly mediocre food considering the price point.
Wait staff was fantastic - appetizer a charred octopus with arugula and toasted garbanzo beans was extremely good - wife's shrimp scampi was fair to good - my Pappardelle pasta and meat plate just OK - meat had an oily finish and pasta (noodles) just seemed under cooked - red sangria cocktail was nicely crafted - noise level not for us - total aound $86 with tip - beauty of downtown Gilbert these days is that there are so many choices
Our server Diane was fantastic and the patio ambience was delightful!
Perfect date night!
Great place for date night
My review is mixed. They had one of the worst hummus appetizers ive ever had, but my date really really enjoyed the rib eye tips appetizer
This is our favorite restaurant of all time! The homemade pasta is amazing, the tomahawk is super tasty, and the service is always great! Highly recommend!!
Dining at Nico was one of my top 10 dining experiences! Great food, service and ambiance. We’ll be back, over and over again!
I've been to nico on numerous occasions and have always had an amazing experience. From the food to the ambiance- I have spoken so highly to everyone I know and encourage them to go. It had been a while since I've been in and made reservations for my birthday dinner this past weekend. The food was SO disappointing. The octopus was overly charred and had a rubber band consistency with hard nuts on the plate that were inedible. The ragu was flavorless and the pork was tough and didnt shred like it used to in the past. The chicken dish my husband got was hard to cut over pasta and was not very tender. The pasta/sauce was again flavorless and overcooked. Service was amazing as it always has been but honestly I was so...let down! I literally have been talking people into going since it opened and this was not the same food. I dont think I'll go again and that breaks my pasta loving heart.
Food has been up and down since Nico opened. The lowlight was a meal back in the spring of 2019 where a piece of meat arrived uncooked. Our meal this past weekend was the best, everything cooked to perfection. The whole table noticed and commented on the quality of all the dishes in preparation, presentation and flavor. Will be back soon.
Our experience was mixed. The service was amazing. The food was incredible. But the odd part was the ambience. One one side of the table was a you couple more interested in their social media than each other and on the other was a first date where he could stop talking about his family's wealth and she had to make sure his family was wealthy. If you go, try to sit outside away from the 2-person tables. Otherwise, this place is simply amazing like all the restaurants downtown.
The food is always delicious and fresh. The service is always 5 star ( thank you Tim) and it’s such a beautiful space to spend time in.
Great night! Service was excellent as usual. Tim is awesome! Food was great. Had the Bistecca. Worth every penny.
The restaurant was decorated really cool, and had the look of a perfect date night spot. The service was kind of slow and didn't really offer up much in terms of recommendation or explaining what they're known for. They were really nice, but maybe stretched a bit thin. The burrata appetizer was really good. Both my wife's and mine main course left a lot to be desired. We had such high hopes based on the feel of the place and the menu, but the actual food was kind of a let down.
Great food. Great service. Was crowded, but that didn't present an issue, as we had a reservation. The noise level was really high, tho, and that made it uncomfortable.
We have been to Nico Heirloom Kitchen several time but recently twice on a Monday evening. Our Waiter Johnny is great in reviewing the menu and wine list with us and even have a few laughs with him. We are never disappointed with the service and quality of the food.
Delicious again! Had the same waitress as last time I went and she was excellent. Mussels are so good. So are the drinks!
Food was really bad. This was the second time there. First time I had the lasagna and it was 5 stars. We came back so we could have the lasagna and found it was removed from the menu. We had the rigatoni and octopus. The octopus was very gritty like it had gravel in it or sand. The rigatoni didn’t even taste Italian. It was like a mild Mexican chili with pasta. Very bland and we wanted Italian. The one bright spot was our server.
We have been to Nico a few times, as it reminds me of the Common Grill in Chelsea, MI. I love the calamari; served with mint, it’s a unique twist. I ordered the Rose, but they were out. We had the meatball appetizer this time, and both my husband and I found them to be bland. My husband had the filet which was very good. We shared the asparagus which was also very good; love the bacon with it. I had the rigatoni with pork ragu. The ragu was really good, but the pasta was cold. It was a bit disappointing, and I wanted to love it. I asked for a box to take the other half home, and the waitress never brought it back boxed up. Better luck next time!
Dinner was great, went to celebrate my parents and my anniversary and had amazing food.
Great food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere - only negative we waited over 30 min for a table we had a reservation for and there was an open 2 top on the floor that they wouldn’t see us at.
Neat place to eat, service was amazing! The food was so good! I will go back for sure
The ambiance, food, staff, and drinks were all perfect at Nicos as usual. My husband and I eat here at least twice a month and always experience the warmest service and some of the best food of anywhere. The food quality and preparation/presentation are top notch. The best place to eat in downtown Gilbert as far as we're concerned!
I booked open table for 3 and the table was set for 2. When I asked for another place setting she didn’t bring it until I asked a second time. It took an hour to get the food once we ordered and there were not many people in the restaurant at all. One of us ordered the tomahawk steak. It didn’t look anywhere near 40 oz. and it was good but not a 125$ piece of meat. I have only eaten there once before so decided to give it another try and it was ok but very overpriced at 200$ for 3 people.
Excellent service. A little disappointed they took our favorite salad off the menu and are unable to make it. Went with the Caesar and it was good, not great. Love the atmosphere. Overall, recommend. We will be back.
Everything was delicious! Mussels appetizer was my favorite part. Tomato basil mozzarella salad was also delicious. So were our entrees and desserts! Can’t wait to go back.
Good food and good service, attractive interior but so loud that conversation without shouting is impossible.
There scampi had a very powerful wine taste like it wasn’t cooked down enough.
